Updated Review (July 2026) After using the FurBulous Box for several more months, I wanted to update my original review. My initial review accurately reflected my experience at the time, but after months of continued use, I believe it's only fair to share how my opinion has evolved. The biggest improvement came after switching to a finer clumping litter (I currently use Arm & Hammer Clump & Seal). Looking back, I now believe that the type of litter has a much greater impact on this machine's performance than I originally realized. Since making that change, the interior stays much cleaner, odor control has improved significantly, and the overall experience has been much better. The app still has occasional issues. I continue to receive the "No trash bag detected" notification from time to time, even when a bag is properly installed. However, after reaching out, FurBulous' support team explained that this is sometimes caused by the lighter-colored section of the bag covering the detection area and shared a few simple tips to improve bag detection. I'll be applying those recommendations moving forward. In any case, this issue has not affected the machine's actual performance and has become more of a minor inconvenience than a functional problem. One thing I especially want to recognize is FurBulous' customer support. Several months after posting my original review, their support team personally reached out, not to dispute my feedback, but simply to ask how the product had been performing over time and to better understand my experience. They carefully listened to my observations and genuinely appreciated the suggestion about providing clearer guidance on litter selection for new users. That interaction left a very positive impression on me. It's refreshing to see a company that values honest customer feedback and appears committed to improving its product. While I still believe there is room for improvement, particularly with the app and some aspects of the user experience, the product has earned my confidence over time, and I feel my rating should reflect that. Original review: I’ve been using this automatic litter box daily since December 21st (1 month) with two cats weighing around 9 lbs each, and while the concept sounds great on paper, the real-world execution has been consistently frustrating. What works: - The unit is very quiet, which is a big plus. - The safety sensors are excellent. The machine reliably detects when a cat is nearby and stops immediately, which is one of the few features I truly trust. Major problems that outweigh the benefits: 1. Poor internal hygiene & odor control The rotating mechanism that separates clean litter from clumps causes waste residue to spread across the interior walls. As a result, the inside gets dirty very quickly. The deodorizing tablet is not effective enough to control odors once the interior is coated with residue. I have to wipe the inside almost daily with disinfectant wipes, which completely defeats the purpose of an automatic litter box. 2. Highly inefficient waste bag system The auto-packing feature uses far more bag material than necessary. Even when the unit alerts that the trash box is “full,” the sealed bag is often only about one-third filled, with the rest being trapped air. With two cats, I receive “trash box full” notifications every other day, sometimes on consecutive days. 3. Unreliable bag sealing Approximately 3 to 4 times out of 10, the bag does not seal properly. Removing it becomes stressful because if the seal fails, the bag can open or tear while being lifted, creating a mess. 4. Mandatory proprietary refills You can only use the manufacturer’s refill bags. The unit includes two refills, and both were consumed within one month. This represents a significant ongoing cost, in addition to litter. 5. Refill availability is a serious concern Replacement refills are currently not available anywhere, with no clear restock date. Without refills, the machine becomes unusable, forcing you back to manual scooping despite having invested in an expensive device. 6. App reliability issues After auto-packing completes and a new bag is automatically loaded, the app consistently sends a notification saying “No trash bag detected,” even though a bag is clearly in place. Final verdict: While the idea behind this litter box is innovative, the execution is not reliable enough for daily use, especially in a multi-cat household. Between the constant cleaning, wasted consumables, unreliable sealing, and dependency on hard-to-find proprietary refills, this product does not justify its price. At its current state, I cannot recommend it, unless significant improvements are made to the waste system, app reliability, and refill availability.

I love the design of this box. I love how and where it stores the stool. I love how it rotates backwards instead of in a circle. It freezes the moment is senses a cat near and then continues when the cat leaves. It is super easy to set up, to clean, and to maintain once you learn the kinks. 1. when the screen on the box freezes noting there is a cat near and you app stays frozen in the same message. You are encouraged NOT to unplug the box to reset. They encourage unplugging the box only for cleaning. Otherwise if you unplug to reset (there is no on/off buton) you can damage the box and it will not function. the trick I learned to unfreeze your box is to open the trash bin, wait a second, and close. it will automatically reset the device. 2. this device is good for 2-3 cats. no more. I currently have 5 cats and I believe the over use caused my first box to shut down. I currently have 1 furbulous box and one litter box. this has helped the usage on the furbulous box. and funny enough, the cleaning is still minimal. 3. I watched the videos on how to clean the box several times before doing it myself. Super easy. weekly wipes are needed to help with maintaining your box. 4. when I have had trouble with my previous box, I was frustrated cause the only way to contact the company is through email. Well I was pleasantly suprised becuase they respond quickly. I would send a email and when I woke I had a response. Honestly the best customer service through email. They walked me through my steps, they sent me a replacement box when we could not figure out the issue. Super impressed with how they take care of you. Overall I love this box. it took me some troubleshooting to fix the kinks. but I am so happy I did. I know it can be frustrating to buy the garbage bags, but honestly you dont use that much. I empty the box daily, I dont wait for it to be full. the system does not waste supplies. I also figured out how to use a bathroom garbage bag when I didnt have a reserve of garbage bags. even with 5 cats I only change the garbage bag piece maybe once a month or once every 5-6 weeks. I love the customer service, I really love this box. obvious its not perfect with some kinks, but once you get the feel for the box it has made my life sooo much easier with 5 cats. I was changing litter 4-5x a day. now I do it daily maybe twice a day. it uses less litter, the odor piece is awesome! I have a sensitive nose and that odor tab really controls any odor coming out of the box and it doesnt cause any issues with my cats. not sure what more to say except I am one happy customer!

I had been looking at automatic self cleaning litter boxes for a while when my husband surprised me with this Furbulous True odor-free litter box. Overall this has been a good product. Set up was simple. Our order came with a few trash bags, we wasted one while trying to learn how it all worked but luckily we had back up. Pros: more cost efficient than some other brands, relatively compact design, came with extra trash bags, very quiet, clean up mostly now consists of changing a sealed trash bag every few days. Cons: when we close the door and the machine rotates, litter spills from around the closed door. This is not only creating a mess but also wasting kitty litter (approx 4 tablespoons at a time). I haven’t figured out how to add fresh kitty litter without making a mess. My husband said I should just be able to pour it in through the front door but we buy larger containers of kitty litter so I’d have to scoop it into the door using something smaller rather than just lifting the container and pouring. I’ve also noticed that I do smell the old kitty litter despite there being an odor absorber attached to it. My husband even checked to make sure the vents of the odor blocker were open and they are so I feel like I need to buy a stronger odor absorber. Overall I am grateful for what it is and happy with this purchase.

This product and its support has been a horrible experience. I paid $319.99 for a litter box that does not work. My cat does not like it and the box itself is not wide enough for my cat to do its business in it. It’s messy, there are leaks. My cat gets confused and kicks litter out on the mat then does its business on the mat. Now the box does not function and says “Device Failure 04”. I have tried unplugging and plugging back in and still nothing happens. I have called the support number and all they tell me is someone will call me back for support and no one calls back. This product is a waste of money. Also, I would make recommendations as to how to make the engineering of this product 100X better.

This is my 3rd automatic litterbox, and it is in a completely different category than any other! I'm not exaggerating when I say this completely changes the worst part of having a cat. I looked at so many litter boxes before buying this, and am SO happy we chose this one. -There is 0 smell. I don't know how it's possible, but it's true. This is why we picked this box. The only smell you will smell is whatever your unused cat litter smells like if it has a scent. I haven't even replaced the scent pod and after 39 days there is still no smell. -You will literally just press a button and out pops an already sealed bag to walk to the trash can. That's all. I thought the zero smell was the best thing about the litter box, but THIS feature of having to do nothing to change the box is life-changing. -You can even just press a button to completely empty all of the litter in the litterbox the same way, it comes out sealed. -Customer service is also excellent, I had a delivery issue with one of the trash boxes and customer service immediately sent me a new one. -We have two cats who immediately started using the box. One of our cats is very tall and I was worried he wouldn't use it, but he has completely stopped using our other litterbox now that we have this one. --We've had it for a month and have had 0 issues with anything. If this is what a future living with robots is like, might not be so bad. -The safety features work well. Our cats are constantly curious/annoying and try to climb in it when it's cleaning and it stops moving instantly. -Pro tip: watch ALL of the installation and setup/cleaning videos, makes it so much easier!

Title: Innovative design with great features, but minor usability and return policy drawbacks Rating: 3 stars Review: I really wanted to love this litter box because the self-cleaning and self-sealing bagging system is a fantastic concept. It’s incredibly convenient to have the waste automatically bagged and sealed after the cat leaves the box. However, we ultimately had to return the unit. First, our 16-pound cat found the space too cramped and was too intimidated to enter, so this model is likely best suited for smaller cats. Second, the user interface on the app needs improvement; I accidentally hit the wrong button during cleaning, which caused the unit to dump litter all over my floor. The design also relies on a small connection piece that must be removed when emptying the unit; if it isn't perfectly sealed, it leads to a significant mess. I believe this product has great potential and could easily be a 4 or 5-star item with a few software updates and a larger cabin size. Additionally, I was disappointed that I was charged $80 to return the item despite being an Amazon Prime customer, which factored into my rating. If they release a larger version that cycles more frequently, I would definitely consider purchasing it again.

2026-08-07 - Review on Wifi connectivity issue. The box lost wifi access, for unknown reason. I tried to reconnect, but the box was not 'seeing' the wifi network my iPhone was connected to, or any other wifi networks for that matter. I contacted support via email. I received near immediate response (i.e. without an hour or so) with instructions on how to reset my account, and force a device wifi reconnect. The whole process took about 5 minutes, and the box was reconnected to my wifi. I was then able to manage the box remotely from the iPhone app again. Final update on this: the connectivity issues were due to a default connection via China server, which cause all sorts of latency. During initial mobile app setup, that's the default. Working with support, I was able to create a new account using the US server service, and not only did the pins for initial setup get sent immediately (rather than hours later), but now, when entering the app, my litter box displays immediately, rather than many seconds or minutes later. I provided feedback. I assume the vendor will make updates to enforce selecting a proper region or auto select based on user location (but still ask for confirmation) in future versions of the app. That will remove all the issues I had (and likely others) with initial app config and connectivity. Bumping rating up to 5 stars. Update, Using email, instead of phone, I was able to get support almost right away. I am able to connect to the box now using the app. I provided feedback to hopefully lead to changes that will make the app more user friendly, especially for first time configuration. I also noticed the registration codes did arrive, but several hours later. I notified the vendor. The box itself seems to work find and our cat uses it without any issue. So, updating review with proper star assignment. Just received and installed this. The box itself is well built, and we hope it will work as advertised. ISSUES: could not register with the app, email code never came, for several hours. Eventually, it worked, I was able to register and configure WiFi on the box. Less than 30 minutes later, app won’t start all the way anymore, so no connectivity to the box anymore! Support is absent. Called the number, I get a busy/number not working tone! So, we hope this device will actually work, despite major connectivity issues and terrible (near non existent support services)! If we can’t get these connectivity issues in the next 15 days however, box will be returned!!!!

We have a large cat so automated litter boxes for him are limited. Seeing the options and dimensions this seemed good even though not the cheapest, there's a reason... it's a great product. Tidy, quiet and sturdy design, plenty large enough for our nearly 14lb and 24" in long monster tabby. We have had other automated litter machines that were no where near this quality despite the cost and "reputation". This being said, the biggest benefit to the product is customer service. We've dealt with the customer service of the others... I definitely didn't feel like a valued customer and was not getting service. Not only did furbulous customer service ask for reasonable proof to come to a resolution, the resolution was prompt and pain free. If for no other reason, the customer service is why I can't recommend this company and this automated litter box high enough.
