Place your cat in it once, turn off auto-clean in the app, give 1–2 days to explore, and use treats to encourage visits Do I need special litter or bags? Use most clumping litters (clay, tofu). Updated Review (July 2026) After using the FurBulous Box for several more months, I wanted to update my original review. My initial review accurately reflected my experience at the time, but after months of continued use, I believe it's only fair to share how my opinion has evolved. The biggest improvement came after switching to a finer clumping litter (I currently use Arm & Hammer Clump & Seal). Looking back, I now believe that the type of litter has a much greater impact on this machine's performance than I originally realized. Since making that change, the interior stays much cleaner, odor control has improved significantly, and the overall experience has been much better. The app still has occasional issues. I continue to receive the "No trash bag detected" notification from time to time, even when a bag is properly installed. However, after reaching out, FurBulous' support team explained that this is sometimes caused by the lighter-colored section of the bag covering the detection area and shared a few simple tips to improve bag detection. I'll be applying those recommendations moving forward. In any case, this issue has not affected the machine's actual performance and has become more of a minor inconvenience than a functional problem. One thing I especially want to recognize is FurBulous' customer support. Several months after posting my original review, their support team personally reached out, not to dispute my feedback, but simply to ask how the product had been performing over time and to better understand my experience. They carefully listened to my observations and genuinely appreciated the suggestion about providing clearer guidance on litter selection for new users. That interaction left a very positive impression on me. It's refreshing to see a company that values honest customer feedback and appears committed to improving its product. While I still believe there is room for improvement, particularly with the app and some aspects of the user experience, the product has earned my confidence over time, and I feel my rating should reflect that. Original review: I’ve been using this automatic litter box daily since December 21st (1 month) with two cats weighing around 9 lbs each, and while the concept sounds great on paper, the real-world execution has been consistently frustrating. What works: - The unit is very quiet, which is a big plus. - The safety sensors are excellent. The machine reliably detects when a cat is nearby and stops immediately, which is one of the few features I truly trust. Major problems that outweigh the benefits: 1. Poor internal hygiene & odor control The rotating mechanism that separates clean litter from clumps causes waste residue to spread across the interior walls. As a result, the inside gets dirty very quickly. The deodorizing tablet is not effective enough to control odors once the interior is coated with residue. I have to wipe the inside almost daily with disinfectant wipes, which completely defeats the purpose of an automatic litter box. 2. Highly inefficient waste bag system The auto-packing feature uses far more bag material than necessary. Even when the unit alerts that the trash box is “full,” the sealed bag is often only about one-third filled, with the rest being trapped air. With two cats, I receive “trash box full” notifications every other day, sometimes on consecutive days. 3. Unreliable bag sealing Approximately 3 to 4 times out of 10, the bag does not seal properly. Removing it becomes stressful because if the seal fails, the bag can open or tear while being lifted, creating a mess. 4. Mandatory proprietary refills You can only use the manufacturer’s refill bags. The unit includes two refills, and both were consumed within one month. This represents a significant ongoing cost, in addition to litter. 5. Refill availability is a serious concern Replacement refills are currently not available anywhere, with no clear restock date. Without refills, the machine becomes unusable, forcing you back to manual scooping despite having invested in an expensive device. 6. App reliability issues After auto-packing completes and a new bag is automatically loaded, the app consistently sends a notification saying “No trash bag detected,” even though a bag is clearly in place. Final verdict: While the idea behind this litter box is innovative, the execution is not reliable enough for daily use, especially in a multi-cat household. Between the constant cleaning, wasted consumables, unreliable sealing, and dependency on hard-to-find proprietary refills, this product does not justify its price. At its current state, I cannot recommend it, unless significant improvements are made to the waste system, app reliability, and refill availability.

This is my 3rd automatic litterbox, and it is in a completely different category than any other! I'm not exaggerating when I say this completely changes the worst part of having a cat. I looked at so many litter boxes before buying this, and am SO happy we chose this one. -There is 0 smell. I don't know how it's possible, but it's true. This is why we picked this box. The only smell you will smell is whatever your unused cat litter smells like if it has a scent. I haven't even replaced the scent pod and after 39 days there is still no smell. -You will literally just press a button and out pops an already sealed bag to walk to the trash can. That's all. I thought the zero smell was the best thing about the litter box, but THIS feature of having to do nothing to change the box is life-changing. -You can even just press a button to completely empty all of the litter in the litterbox the same way, it comes out sealed. -Customer service is also excellent, I had a delivery issue with one of the trash boxes and customer service immediately sent me a new one. -We have two cats who immediately started using the box. One of our cats is very tall and I was worried he wouldn't use it, but he has completely stopped using our other litterbox now that we have this one. --We've had it for a month and have had 0 issues with anything. If this is what a future living with robots is like, might not be so bad. -The safety features work well. Our cats are constantly curious/annoying and try to climb in it when it's cleaning and it stops moving instantly. -Pro tip: watch ALL of the installation and setup/cleaning videos, makes it so much easier!

I had been looking at automatic self cleaning litter boxes for a while when my husband surprised me with this Furbulous True odor-free litter box. Overall this has been a good product. Set up was simple. Our order came with a few trash bags, we wasted one while trying to learn how it all worked but luckily we had back up. Pros: more cost efficient than some other brands, relatively compact design, came with extra trash bags, very quiet, clean up mostly now consists of changing a sealed trash bag every few days. Cons: when we close the door and the machine rotates, litter spills from around the closed door. This is not only creating a mess but also wasting kitty litter (approx 4 tablespoons at a time). I haven’t figured out how to add fresh kitty litter without making a mess. My husband said I should just be able to pour it in through the front door but we buy larger containers of kitty litter so I’d have to scoop it into the door using something smaller rather than just lifting the container and pouring. I’ve also noticed that I do smell the old kitty litter despite there being an odor absorber attached to it. My husband even checked to make sure the vents of the odor blocker were open and they are so I feel like I need to buy a stronger odor absorber. Overall I am grateful for what it is and happy with this purchase.

This item arrived quickly and was easy to set up. It works as the videos show and I am very pleased with it. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting an automatic cat litter box. It does take a little time for the cat to accept it but it is worth the wait. Cleaning is easy and quick,odor is well controlled, and there is no leaking or mess. There has been no concern about safety. It dumps the litter after the cat leaves and the cat has not tried to use it while it is cleaning. As the picture shows, she also uses it to sleep on ank keep tabs on the outdoor feral cats we feed daily. Customer service is available and most helpful if there is any issue. I highly recommend Furbulous and appreciate their quick response to my initial issue. Thank you Furbulous!!

This product and its support has been a horrible experience. I paid $319.99 for a litter box that does not work. My cat does not like it and the box itself is not wide enough for my cat to do its business in it. It’s messy, there are leaks. My cat gets confused and kicks litter out on the mat then does its business on the mat. Now the box does not function and says “Device Failure 04”. I have tried unplugging and plugging back in and still nothing happens. I have called the support number and all they tell me is someone will call me back for support and no one calls back. This product is a waste of money. Also, I would make recommendations as to how to make the engineering of this product 100X better.

Update: July 2026 I have upped my review up to 5 stars. The customer service from this company had been amazing. I was frustrated previously and tossed the broken unit. Within days, the company reached out to me, we discussed what happened, how it happened, and they sent me a brand new unit! This company stands by their product and wanted to make it right. If you run i to any issues with your unit. Please reach out to them first. Give them the chance to work with you. I dont think you'll be disappointed. Original: I bought this litter box in Nov 2025. For the most part, we were pretty happy with it. There are 2 issues we've run into, the last being the more problematic w/ no good resolution... The S4 or 04 - whatever that one that comes up.. I have found that unplugging/re-plugging does not work. What does work for this error is taking the top off for a little while.. 10-15 min, more if you forget about it, and then reseat it. The error will clear. The bags are suddenly no longer sealing. We're 8 months into using this litter box and suddenly the bags don't seal and I have cat litter in the bin without a bag. We've tried cleaning the area, making sure no dust/debris, making sure the bag isn't twisted, making sure there isn't too much bag... Now the whole mechanism has just frozen up.. Just save yourself the trouble. Don't buy this. Even if works at first, it's going to break.. It is not worth the aggravation. Find another product. Which one? No idea, haven't found a replacement yet.

A Game Changer for Our 3-Cat Household! With 3 cats, I was honestly skeptical that an automatic litter box could keep up (our CatLink unit just died as a result, lol) but this one has completely won me over. 👍 PROS: NO SMELL! The odor control is seriously impressive. Automatic trash packing is MAGIC! 🪄 This is hands down my favorite feature. I wish I had this sooner! I don't even have to tie trash bags anymore! Winning!!! Large enough to comfortably accommodate our cats (the 10lb orange chonky one fits just fine!) Saves SO much time and makes litter maintenance significantly easier. The self-cleaning feature means I’m not constantly scooping. The app gives you great control and lets you keep an eye on things even when you're not right next to the litter box. Waste is neatly contained, which makes the whole process much cleaner and less gross. Very quiet operation. You can name and "bind" each cat to the unit, so it will you which cat has toileted. 👎 CON: The app is a little clunky to figure out at first. There is definitely a learning curve, but once you get familiar with it, it works great and gives you a lot of useful information and control. The instruction manual could be a bit better in that department - but it's legitimately my only complaint so far! Overall, this has been one of those purchases where I keep thinking, "Why didn't I buy this sooner?!" 😂 The automatic trash-packing feature alone is worth it for me. With three cats, anything that makes litter duty easier is a WIN. I will absolutely buy this unit again and again! 🐈🐈🐈

Excellent Litter Box, Even Better Customer Service I’ve been using this automatic litter box for about a year now, and it’s been a huge improvement over a traditional litter box. It does a great job controlling odors, stays much cleaner than scooping every day, and the app makes it easy to monitor everything. My cats adapted to it quickly, and it has saved me a lot of time. What really sets this company apart, though, is their customer service. Any time I’ve had a question or needed assistance, they’ve responded quickly, professionally, and genuinely wanted to help.
