The 1 star is specifically because my cat pees directly behind him, not under him. Rating could be higher for other cat owners. Because he pees behind him the urine runs down the wall then causes the clumps to stick to the side. I have to manually unstick the clumps but this causes a strong urine smell to waft through my house when I don’t get to it in time. I deep clean weekly and have replaced all the litter but 2 days later the smell is back. I asked about initiating a return but there is only a 30 window to return. That’s from the purchase date, by the way, and it took about a week to arrive. That meant I only had a 3 week window to return but I was still figuring out the product at that time. Now I am not able to return for a refund and am out the cost of this auto “cleaner” I will go back to litter robot because in this case you get what you pay for. Easy setup, not to difficult to build. However, it took me nearly two hours to figure out the WiFi portion of it. The box wouldn’t flash yellow, not allowing it to connect to the app. Be sure to keep the litter box on a level surface when connecting, and take the barrel out of the box to help. Works well, now. Decent size, not too bulky. Cleans the box great, not sure how the smell is going to be, playing that by ear. Overall, a good litter box if you’re looking to save some money. Edit: Be sure to buy a very good clumping litter, as sometimes the cat’s waste can be smeared around the rotator, rather than fall through to the bin at the bottom. Also, it helps if your cat covers up his waste after he goes. The smell is definitely better than how it was with my old/normal litter box. Be sure to not get the litter box wet, I was unfortunate enough to not notice the “do not get wet” sticker, and washed mine with water, rather than a wet cloth, and I had to end up getting a new one because it wouldn’t turn on. Best thing ever, the safety is amazing and very sensory if it’s cleaning and I am even within certain space near it, it will stop and wait until I even move before it starts again. Best investment and especially the deodorizer is amazing for the poop smell.
