  • Get one - it’s life changing!
Color: Grey
I wasn’t sure if our elderly (18 year old) cat would adjust to an automatic kitty litter box, but honestly this unit was life changing for both of us! I put this next to her old litter box and within 1 day she was using it. The Neakasa unit was easy to set up and best of all it needs little assistance from me to keep clean. I normally empty the collection tray twice a week and there is no bad odor in the meantime. The unit is a little high for my arthritic kitten, so my husband built a few steps leading up to it to make it easier for her to get in and out. She is picky about what she steps on, so I didn’t think she’d go for the steps Neakasa offers. While I’m not a fan of having an app for everything, I do find the Neakasa app convenient - it records my cat’s frequency of using the litter box and her weight each time she enters the box. This has been very helpful as she has had lifelong kidney issues. But let’s not forget the best part - not having to scoop out a litter box! I’ve had this unit since October 2024 and it has held up great, works as well as it did when I first got it. Of all the things I’ve bought for my kitten I do believe we both appreciate this one the most. :) ... show more

  • Best of the bunch...
Color: Grey
I feel hat that the open top design is the best for a litter box, and the M1 does a great job. Automatic emptying, weighing my cat and monitoring his box use is information you cannot get from a regular litter box. This could be helpful for spotting health issues with your cat. Simple operation, online monitoring, self cleaning, weighs your cat every time they use the box, along with how long they are in the box makes this the perfect box for me. If you experience any issues with the box, the support staff is top notch. ... show more

  • Not worth it.
Color: Grey
New (7 months): This is such a glitchy machine. Just look at the support group on Facebook. Recently, mine and apparently many others’ has started giving a “bin full” error despite the bin being empty, sensors being clean, bag smoothed out, etc. Support is useless and won’t provide a useful solution. I am a week into back and forth emails, to no avail. There is no way to hard reset this thing. So it’s useless because the programming is bad. On the day-to-day side, the liner is hard to clean. Mine has litter cemented to it. It’s otherwise in fine condition. I feel like a hard plastic liner would be just fine instead of this flimsy silicone. It works well enough for old style litter boxes. It’s a pain to get balanced just right so it won’t dump litter. The weighing feature is useless if you have cats of similar weights, and it sometimes gives totally off-kilter weights. There isn’t a way to view cat data over time, so it’s more novelty than health monitoring. You can see use throughout the day but it’s not graphed or anything to show trends. I’m just going to get the original Litter Robot I think. The physical design of this is great, but the programming and support are abysmal. Old: I have four cats. This is a lifesaver. Very pleased. Just wish the waste drawer were redesigned a little bit so the bag feels more securely tucked in. - The title was basically my biggest concern buying one of these: will my jumbo children fit? And they do! I have one maine coon-looking rescue mix (16lbs lean and super long/tall) and one that’s just lorge (16lbs fat but also long and tall). I’ll admit it’s not the same as the massive traditional litter pan I have as their backup, but this does cut down on the litter labor by a lot. If I go a day without cleaning the old pan, they’ll happily use the Neakasa because it’s clean all the time. My smaller/normal sized cats took to it without issue. One was a bit nervous, but I just topped the Neakasa off with some of the litter from the old pan. It brought the familiar stank to the new pan, and now everyone’s using it. On the note of cleaning, I love how the schedule can be adjusted. My cats tend to potty one after the other; it is a family affair to them. So I set the self-cleaning to occur 30 minutes after a cat exits. My one semi-gripe would be the waste drawer. The waste tends to pile up on one side, so it’ll alert as full when it’s really not. Just shake it and it’s fine another couple cycles. Personally, I’d like it if the drawer were a little deeper, as there’s plenty of clearance with the legs in place. The rim is its biggest pain point; it’s a grippy rubber strip that the bag folds over, and it’s a little awkward to handle. I’m always nervous putting the drawer back in that the bag is getting pushed off the rim. It would help if the bag were more recessed into the rim of the drawer, with the slider edges set above the bag attachment. Or maybe a clip on the far end to hold that more securely. I may play with it and see if I can easily DIY something there. Calibrating was hard because I couldn’t really see the measurement lines on the inside of the machine to measure out 100% capacity. But I improvised and it works. The app is not especially well translated, but it does the job and tracks usage very nicely. There are a couple instances every day or two where it seems to measure a cat weighing only a few pounds using the box, which is much smaller than any of mine. I assume it’s just the cats only going half inside to check it out though. They’re fascinated whenever the clean cycle runs. No major complaints, though. It makes my life easier and accommodates my big babies. ... show more

  • This is it!! Where has this thing been all my life??!! ❤️
Color: Grey
Long but worth the read to know how to get your cats to use it. I chose this automatic litter box because of the open top. I have a male sphynx who has a long body and weighs 10 lbs and I also have a small female sphynx who weighs 6 pounds. My male does this crazy looking thing where he stands up on his hind legs and holds onto the side and pees. I had a feeling the enclosed litter robot might not work for him. I’m using the arm and hammer hard ball litter in this and it works wonderfully. The smell of this litter is amazing!! My whole room smells nice. Sphynx cats eat more than other cats and they are stinky when they poop! They can clear a room! The only time I smell the box is while they’re pooping and I never smell it again. I have this box set to turn over the poop to make sure it’s coated good and then clean and dump it 7 minutes after they get out! It’s perfect timing for my cats. It gives it time to clump and then dump. When I first started setting it up which is a breeze to do btw, my male kept jumping in it like it was a box to play in. I had to remove him 3 times to finish. I activated it to level the litter and he was fascinated with the movement and watched it. I removed their old breeze box completely out of sight and placed this new one in the exact same spot that the old box was. This is gross and graphic but it’s how you need to do it: The way you get them to use it is, you take a decent sized, coated with old cat litter turd out of your old box, you can use a glove, but I just used a few paper towels and picked the biggest one out before throwing the old box away. It was pretty dried so it broke up into 3 pieces when I went to put it in the new litter which worked out because I planted and slightly buried with the tops still showing slightly in 3 places spaced out in the new litter box. Make sure your new box here is set to manual instead of automatic so that it doesn’t dump your turds you just planted right away. If you have multiple cats, you can set it back to automatic AFTER ALL your cats have done their business. My male sniffed and quickly realized that this is not a box to play in but a box to do his business. He cautiously climbed up in it and scratched around and finally positioned himself which I took a picture of. My female was sleeping at the time, so she hadn’t had a chance to notice the new box yet, so the old turds and his business he just did was left in there. When she woke up, she went to the area and just stood there and looked at it for a couple of minutes but then she started smelling and inched closer to get a better whiff and check it out. Now, she’s pretty tiny so when she went to climb in, she struggled a little because it’s taller than what she’s used to. I need to find a small step but I haven’t found one yet that I can place in front of it on the mat to help her. I left her alone tho and didn’t help her because she was in the mood to use the box so I didn’t want to distract her or have her associate having to go with any disruptions so I let her struggle and pull herself up in there. She did the same thing he did, smelled for awhile and scratched around a bit and then she peed. I let her take her time getting out and go on about her business and then I turned the automatic on a few minutes later. Both cats just watched it move and it was very quiet so I didn’t bother them at all. They have used it every time like normal since and that was last Friday when I got it. I decided to check the drawer 4 days later and it was time to take the bag out and put a new one. Just DON’T open the drawer until you’re ready to change it because, it’s stinky when you open it. The drawer is sealed very well though and contains the smell so you only smell it when you open it. I’ve never smelled it at all before when walking by the box. I decided every 4 days was a good time frame to check and change the bag for my two cats so I set a 4 day reminder in the app. I love how you can just cinch it up and throw it away and the bags aren’t cheap. They are heavy duty! God!! That’s so easy and quick! I love it!! I may change litter but I love the smell of this one so much that I don’t want to. My male is a wild man getting out after he does his business. I guess he feels so good and light that he just barrels out of there so he flings. The mat is great though! I just fold it up a little on the sides once a day and dump it back in the box. I put another rug on the other side of the mat to catch anything in case he jumps out and over which he almost always does. That is working well. I was a little nervous about making this investment but it’s the best decision I’ve ever made for my cats and sooo worth it! I’ll never go back to sifting turds out everyday again! ... show more

  • Love it
Color: Grey
I’ve had this automatic litter box for almost 2 years now, and it has truly been a lifesaver! It makes having cats so much easier because I no longer have to constantly scoop, and it does a great job keeping the smell down. Emptying the waste bags is super easy, too. I also love that it tracks each cat’s weight and remembers which cat is which. It has held up really well over the past 2 years, and I honestly can’t imagine going back to a regular litter box. Overall, it has made such a difference and I would definitely recommend it! ... show more

  • Safe! Very happy with this box
Color: Grey
I'm very happy with this purchase. I needed an auto cleaner litter box but most of them are so dangerous and kill cats. This one is different. I have watched as my very curious girl will wait for the box to start its cleaning cycle, and then she puts her paws on the front to play with it. The box immediately stops. The sensors are very sensitive and are doing a great job. Also, this box is open on top and the way it cleans is a process of moving slowly back and forth before finally turning all the way. And there is not space for a normal size cat to get stuck. It is also sensitive enough that even a kitten touching it would stop it. So I'm happy. I have an aggressive digger who flings the litter out of the box, but the litter trap mat it comes with catches it. I can then pour the litter back in. I did purchase the litter guard and that is being delivered tomorrow. I also like that this box can be set to clean after every use, or on a schedule like every 3 hours, or i can turn off the auto clean and just press the clean button when i want to throughout the day. The options make it customizable to your needs. I have several cats of varying sizes. Smallest is 6 lbs and the largest is 25 lbs. This works! The app tells you the weight of the cats and how many times they use the box per day. It also tells you when to add litter and when to empty the refuse tray. I recommend this box! ... show more

  • My 2.5 year update..still happy & what I've learned
Color: Grey
I've now had this for over 2 years and Ive been really pleased with it but I had to learn some patience as well learn to turn to their customer service team with questions when something wasn't working instead of assuming it's broken. First, I've got 2 big maine coons and this is the only way to go for them since it's an open top. I love the design as well. It's very smart especially 2 years ago when I bought it and you could only find the globe style that enclose the cats or even scare them. I'm sure all the reviews will go into the wonderful things about the product design and it's a solid company that isn't going anywhere which is a comfort to me because I don't want a LITTER ROBOT .it's huge and expensive (twice as much as this and this is the superior design in my opinion). It has totally stopped on me before and I think of I can't fix it, it's just broken. Don't be like me. First, you need to replace the rubbery mat inside of it regularly (not every month but probably more than once a year but it's really up to you....it took me 2 years to do it but it doesn't mean I didn't need to before that). What I didn't know was the importance of getting the mat exactly right (I thought I did but the directions confused me). I had mine backwards and the magnets (software?) were not communicating correctly so it was just emptying and staying upside down. I finally called customer service and had to leave a message which frustrated me but they called back within 30 minutes. They walked me through it over the phone and we got it fixed. The next time I thought it was broken was because it kept flashing the red light indicating the bag was full. I would change it and still get it ..it was driving me insane. I did a Google search (and by the way, there are more videos than ever helping so lean on Google with a question) and saw that I needed to take the litter box off and clean the black sensors (that I didn't know were there). I wiped them and it was working again but the same problem would happen after a few days and I was wiping the sensors and it would work for a day and back ... So right before I almost sprung for another (that's how much I love this thing....yeah I would be furious but it's the only one I really trust honestly) I took the litter off, I turned it over and took RUBBING ALCOHOL and cleaned the sensors and then wiped them dry. Not sure what that magic was but it's worked perfectly since then. What I've decided is that there always seems to be a solution to the issue and it is a machine so it needs to be cared for and I'm lazy unfortunately. I should clean the whole thing regularly (take it apart and CLEAN IT) and change the mat regularly (if it smells it is probably that). I really do salute the customer service team and I feel like they will help me no matter what (and they are generous to people as you can read a lot of people who have been sent free stuff from them...just saying). You really can't beat this product for the overall quality, design and durability. Now if only there were really such a thing as no tracking litter (that's not $50 a bag ..no thank you). Ive now recommended this to over 20 people and I know 10 have bought it and they are just as happy. If you're on the fence I hope this helps. I'll never ever scoop litter again but this isn't my first automatic but it's by far the best. ... show more

  • Convenient Open-Top Design, but It Still Requires Regular Maintenance
Color: Grey
I wanted an automatic litter box that could reduce daily scooping without making my cat feel trapped inside a small enclosed space. The open-top design was one of the main reasons I chose this model. The entrance is wide and easy to access, so the transition from a traditional litter box was easier than I expected. It also provides enough room for a larger cat to turn around comfortably. The unit is well made, but it is quite large and takes up considerably more floor space than a standard litter box. It is worth measuring the intended area before setting it up. Assembly was manageable with the included instructions, although the main unit is somewhat bulky and may be easier to move with two people. The automatic cleaning function does save a lot of time. Once the cat leaves, the machine waits and then begins its cleaning cycle, separating the clumps into the waste drawer. It handles most clumps well, although very soft or sticky clumps may occasionally leave some residue behind. I still need to wipe the inside periodically, add fresh litter, and clean around the edges. It reduces maintenance, but it does not completely eliminate it. The safety sensors are an important feature. The machine detects when a cat approaches and stops the cleaning cycle, which gives me more confidence using an automatic litter box. The motor is noticeable when it runs, but the sound is not excessively loud or disruptive. Odor control is better than what I experienced with a regular open litter box. The sealed waste drawer contains most smells during normal use, but it is not completely odor-free, especially when the drawer is opened. How often it needs to be emptied will depend on the number of cats, their size, and the type of litter being used. The disposable bag system makes emptying the drawer fairly quick and keeps direct contact with waste to a minimum. The app is helpful for checking litter box activity, changing settings, and starting a cleaning cycle remotely. It only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, so the initial connection may require checking the router settings. The activity history is useful, although I would not rely on it as a substitute for monitoring a cat’s health or behavior. This litter box has made daily cleanup more convenient, and I especially like the roomy open-top design and safety detection. The biggest drawbacks are its large footprint, the continued need for routine cleaning, and the ongoing use of replacement bags. It is a useful upgrade for someone who wants to scoop less often, but it should not be viewed as a completely hands-free solution. ... show more
