It fits roughly the same as the average litter box, but gives so much more life to the litter as it’s cleaning after each use, and sifting it out. If I could return this thing, I would. I've had it for less than 3 months. I could NOT get the app to work. Putting it together was okay, not great, but okay. My cats didn't have any trouble getting use to it. The design needs some serious improvement. The bottom rubber piece that the litter sits on is super sticky. In order to clean it, I've had to drag it outside and use my PRESSURE WASHER because scrubbing isn't enough. As it spins, the poop and pee clumps sometimes fall between the middle drum and the outside piece so it just sits there until you lift up the outside piece. It also can smear around the inside of the drum as it turns, but then if a piece is stuck between, it will smear on the outside of the main drum as well and you'll not know until you clean the whole thing. The buttons are directly under the entrance of the box, so when the cat goes in and out, they are dragging litter across the buttons or pawing dirty litter out onto those buttons. One of the buttons is already stuck. The odor control is okay, but not the greatest. It doesn't seal very well and the odor block in the box does practically nothing. The only win I could find was that a typical grocery bag can fit in the trash bin so that you don't HAVE to buy the branded trash bins. In fact, odor control was better when I layered the grocery bags because the fluffed up plastic creates a better seal around the bottom.

This automatic litter box makes life easier — I went from scooping daily to not touching it for a while. You really don’t have to worry once it’s running. The self-cleaning cycle kicks in after each use and traps odors fast. Set up was easy. It didn’t take long out of the box, and the instructions were actually clear. The app is very convenient. I get notifications when the waste drawer is full and can trigger a manual clean from my phone. Health monitoring is a nice bonus — it tracks how often my cat visits and sends me weight data right in the app. It works with any clumping litter, so I didn’t have to buy special refills like some other brands require. The odor control filters and enclosed design keep my small apartment from smelling, even with multiple cats. It’s pricey, but the time saved and peace of mind are worth it if you hate scooping.

TWO YEAR UPDATE If anyone is wondering about the box’s longevity, I am able to provide an update after two years of ownership. After two years, it’s still functioning properly. Still connected to internet without issue, cleans after set time, and lets me know when the basket is full. App is very easy to use and learn. My biggest issue is the lack of odor control. As others also mention, urine clumps can get stuck or smear, resulting in an unpleasant odor. I’ve come to accept this pitfall and wipe the inside every few days or as needed. Still better than scooping twice daily. I know I don’t rinse it out enough, but every once in a while, the hose makes a big difference. My silicone pad is still very much intact without any ripping. Others have experienced ripping, I have not. My sister has a significantly more expensive litter box, and her silicone pad ripped shortly after ownership. Something to keep in mind is that it was $50 cheaper two years ago. I also feel that the litter bags are a bit pricey, but oh well. Anything for our cats! In conclusion, this box has not let me down. I can count on it to reliably remove waste as long as I make sure the basket doesn’t fill up.

This litter box is so fancy and high-tech. It looks great in my home and looks like it is a piece of modern furniture. The set up of the box was fairly easy and took about a half hour. I struggled a little with getting the app set up with my Bluetooth but found it worked best with pairing the devices by restarting the box and sitting directly in front of it, and now it’s ready to go. Since I just got it a few days ago, I’m still in the process of training my cat and I think she’s intimidated by the height of it. I saw other buyers are using a step so I’ll probably get one too. In doing a test run, the litter box cleans really well and I really like that the system waits 7 minutes to clean after use so that the cat can disassociate the noise and movement of the box to them using it and reduce getting scared of it. I also like that it senses if a cat is getting in there mid-clean and stops the system to prevent any injuries.

I've had this litter box for just over 3 months now and it's on the better end of okay, generally good! The litter box gets the job done and for a busy professional, it's a life saver. The cats love having a clean litter box every time they go and it was easy to set up and get working. However, it loses 2 stars for 2 very important reasons: smell and functionality. While the set comes with deodorizer pods, they don't do a very good job at masking the smells of collected urine and feces; you're better off sprinkling baking soda over the tub when it's half full. The pods aren't that good smelling either, they're almost sickly sweet (which is not something I want to smell near a litter box). The biggest issue is for my boy cat - he's a front-pisser. Usually we have no problems with the box when it spins, but because it leaves the opening exposed for safety, it also means that there's always a chance that if it's a large lump of pee that hasn't had time to dry properly, it can fall out and splatter all over your floor. Pic included is AFTER I got rid of the giant lump of litter piss, it's what was leftover for me to clean. Aside from that, I wish the app was a little more robust; the litter timer resets on the app every time the box loses power. My outlet is attached to one of the light switches in my bathroom and if someone turns it off accidentally and then forgets to open the app immediately to reset the timer, it goes back to 3 minutes. Evidently, there needs to be more time between rotations so "deposits" can dry out and not fall out during rotations. It's better if everything in there has dried enough so that it doesn't stick to the side walls either. My girl cat thinks it's a toy and tries to crawl into the poop pit 70-80% of the time while it's cycling because she's a little nasty creature but that's a personal issue.

I bought another PetSafe automatic litter box for my second property and it is absolutely one of the best. It has completely changed how we deal with litter. My wife has two cats, and before this, she was cleaning constantly and still fighting with odor (laundry room was not a pleasant place to be). However, now everything stays fresh, and that area doesn’t smell like a litter box anymore even with both(!) cats using it. One of them diabetic, so he visits it even more often than a normal cat would. The setup was super simple and took maybe 10 minutes, thanks to the detailed guidance provided. I love that it connects to the app so I can keep track of when the cats go and when it’s time to change the tray. The best part of it is I can track how many times my diabetic cat goes in to confirm if everything is good or maybe we need to check his blood sugar level. The machine runs quietly, I barely notice it and the modern design doesn’t look out of place - it can be placed anywhere in the house. I change the waste bag about once a week (because my diabetic cat uses it more often), and it’s so much easier (and cleaner) than scooping every day. Plus, it actually uses less litter than my old boxes, which definitely offsets the device cost a bit. Overall, it’s an investment, but absolutely worth it for the time and cleanliness. I just wish we bought it sooner!!

I bought this having had another Pet Safe litter box in the past. While the other litter box wasn’t perfect, it was good quality for its price point and lasted me a couple years. I wanted something slightly smaller than the litter robot for my next litter robot but something easy to clean. Pros: It keeps the smell under control and my cats easily took to using it. The size is great and it was fairly easy to put together. Cons: It throws litter everywhere, I spend more time cleaning it than a standard litter box, the tray fills up every other day. and clumps get stuck in the mechanism which means I need to pull it apart weekly to fix it. Overall I would not recommend.
