This automatic litter box makes life easier — I went from scooping daily to not touching it for a while. You really don’t have to worry once it’s running. The self-cleaning cycle kicks in after each use and traps odors fast. Set up was easy. It didn’t take long out of the box, and the instructions were actually clear. The app is very convenient. I get notifications when the waste drawer is full and can trigger a manual clean from my phone. Health monitoring is a nice bonus — it tracks how often my cat visits and sends me weight data right in the app. It works with any clumping litter, so I didn’t have to buy special refills like some other brands require. I expected a lot more from a household name-brand like PetSafe, but this smart litter box misses the mark on several basic design fronts. The Good: Setup: Very straightforward and easy to get up and running. The App: The app integration is solid. It's actually easy to use, stays connected reliably, and provides useful information without any syncing headaches. The Bad: The Litter Mess: Unlike other globe/drum style boxes on the market, this one completely lacks a protective lip on the entry. When the drum rotates to clean, litter spills right out of the front. Design Flaws (Stuck Waste): There is a prominent gap right before the opening to the waste bin. Used, dirty litter constantly falls into this gap and gets stuck under the spinning drum, requiring manual cleaning. Odor Control: Virtually non-existent. It doesn't seem to do anything to mitigate smells. Sensor/Software Glitches: Every time I refill the litter—even when following the instruction manual perfectly—the box gets confused and throws an error. The only way to fix it is to completely power cycle the unit. Overall Verdict: I would not recommend this box. There are plenty of generic, "alphabet soup" brands on Amazon with a very similar physical design that actually execute it much better than PetSafe did here. Save your money and look elsewhere.

This litter box is so fancy and high-tech. It looks great in my home and looks like it is a piece of modern furniture. The set up of the box was fairly easy and took about a half hour. I struggled a little with getting the app set up with my Bluetooth but found it worked best with pairing the devices by restarting the box and sitting directly in front of it, and now it’s ready to go. Since I just got it a few days ago, I’m still in the process of training my cat and I think she’s intimidated by the height of it. I saw other buyers are using a step so I’ll probably get one too. In doing a test run, the litter box cleans really well and I really like that the system waits 7 minutes to clean after use so that the cat can disassociate the noise and movement of the box to them using it and reduce getting scared of it. I also like that it senses if a cat is getting in there mid-clean and stops the system to prevent any injuries.

Overall, this is a great litter box and is essentially a slightly more affordable version of a Litter Robot. I removed a star for a couple of reasons. 1. Set up is relatively easy, but the alignment step is pretty difficult because of the rubber litter mat part. It's incredibly difficult to get that to line up, even with the ridges that are built into the interior. (Just a note, though this didn't go into my reason for taking away a star: heed their advice about putting down one of the plastic bags during assembly. If you have hair or dirt on your floor, it's going to stick to a lot of the parts, especially that litter bin/mat part). 2. The litter sifter makes a loud bang when the cleaning cycle is complete and I think it's because of the way it has to be set up and the fact that it uses magnets. It's just not as sturdy, so it makes a little bit of noise where I expected this to be pretty much quiet. 3. The interior of the box is a bit small. I can't compare it to other automatic litter boxes so I don't have a frame of reference for if this is standard or not. But my cat's pretty small and she seems to still step in her own waste when she's trying to bury it, and that creates some mess I haven't experienced with my previous cats who had a standard, rectangular manual litter box. Everything else about this product is great! I like that it tells you the max amount of litter you should put in to avoid a mess. If you follow that line, it's minimal mess. The app set up is super easy and straight forward, and the data it provides is helpful. I also like that I can share my device with others in my household so they can check on the cat. I followed someone else's advice to set the clean up delay to 10 minutes to allow the litter to fully clump and avoid making messes inside the box. I think I need to add a bit more time to suit my cat's needs, but I'd say a 10 - 15 minute delay should be safe depending on the clumping litter you use. The deodorizer works really well for me. I have this set up in my work from home office and there's no smell. Overall, I was originally hesitant to get an automatic litter box because the cats I had growing up never used one and cleaning litter wasn't a big deal for me. But now that I travel (and sometimes for longer periods of time), I like having the ability to let the box clean itself and not rely on someone to come in each day or two for litter cleaning. It's much more convenient if you're someone on the go, even if your trips are infrequent. My cat hasn't had any issues using this box, but of course that varies by pet. I have no safety concerns so far, as the settings work as described to ensure that the box doesn't operate while the cat is in it by detecting her weight. The scale is also pretty spot on in terms of its accuracy.

this automatic litter box, and let me tell it, life changing. Set up was pretty pain free, and then you basically forget about it. It fits roughly the same as the average litter box, but gives so much more life to the litter as it’s cleaning after each use, and sifting it out. IMO, it didn’t take up much more space than the previous pan litter box for, I didn’t have to move anything around to “make room” and my kitten has had no trouble getting into it as far as being too high or anything, and there wasn’t really an adjustment period either. I’ve had it set up for about a week now, and haven’t had to change the bin yet! (Only one little kitten!) i never smell litter box anymore! And the best part, it’s practically silent! The app allows customization in frequency of cleaning and timing and it’s easy to use as well. I've tried several litter boxes before, but the ScoopFree SmartSpin is a game-changer. I've had this litter box for just over 3 months now and it's on the better end of okay, generally good! The litter box gets the job done and for a busy professional, it's a life saver. The cats love having a clean litter box every time they go and it was easy to set up and get working. However, it loses 2 stars for 2 very important reasons: smell and functionality. While the set comes with deodorizer pods, they don't do a very good job at masking the smells of collected urine and feces; you're better off sprinkling baking soda over the tub when it's half full. The pods aren't that good smelling either, they're almost sickly sweet (which is not something I want to smell near a litter box). The biggest issue is for my boy cat - he's a front-pisser. Usually we have no problems with the box when it spins, but because it leaves the opening exposed for safety, it also means that there's always a chance that if it's a large lump of pee that hasn't had time to dry properly, it can fall out and splatter all over your floor. Pic included is AFTER I got rid of the giant lump of litter piss, it's what was leftover for me to clean. Aside from that, I wish the app was a little more robust; the litter timer resets on the app every time the box loses power. My outlet is attached to one of the light switches in my bathroom and if someone turns it off accidentally and then forgets to open the app immediately to reset the timer, it goes back to 3 minutes. Evidently, there needs to be more time between rotations so "deposits" can dry out and not fall out during rotations. It's better if everything in there has dried enough so that it doesn't stick to the side walls either. My girl cat thinks it's a toy and tries to crawl into the poop pit 70-80% of the time while it's cycling because she's a little nasty creature but that's a personal issue.

I love this litter box! I saw a lot of reviews addressing the negatives about this box and I’d like to share my point of view. “This box smells horrible” I have combatted this by simply changing out the tray underneath every other day. No smell! “It dumps litter on the floor!” Only when it is overfilled. There is a fill line for the litter, so long as you fill it to that line no problems. It scoops very well, size is good! I have 3 cats (One is 8lb, one is 10lb, one is 12 lb) and none of them struggle to use this box and I have found they prefer it to their regular litter box. I will say, overpriced for sure. My only negative is that the materials feel cheap despite the cost. The scale is inaccurate. All in all though, so grateful I got this litter box and it has made my life 10x easier since my cats and I are living in a bedroom temporarily. (really NO SMELL if you clean the pan regularly.) Great alternative if unable to afford a $800 litter robot. (-:

Overall this product is still an upgrade from normal litter boxes. Pretty easy to put together, and initially really excited about a support app. My biggest reason for purchase was not wanting to scoop every day, which has been solved. I have 3 cats that use this and I only switch it out every couple of days. l use the blue crystal litter so only scooping out #2 instead of also scooping clumps of #1. However, this type of litter doesn’t seem to be the best for this box. After the very first cleaning cycle, I hear crunching of litter caught in the machine with every new cycle, which is super loud and very unsatisfying to hear. I work from home and this box is near my office and the cycle is just so loud now. I’ve also had to put the clear sifter back in its place twice, because it’s fallen out. I’ve had this litter for about 3 weeks now, and it’s too small for one of the cats, so she goes in head first and her bum sticks out the back causing her to poop right outside the liter. Which is disgusting to clean and totally defeats the purpose. I would also make note of the app, it’s really not as intuitive as I would have expected. It displays the weight of the cat but half the time that weight is only about 4lbs (my cats are all around 10-11lbs) and it also never notifies me when to clean, I have to just have a regular schedule of my own. The app also has a place where it’s supposed to show me how many visits a day took place, but it’s always at 0, even when I can see the history of each visit right below. Lastly regarding the app, it’s in some random time zone that I can seem to change. I don’t mind the 24 hour clock, but it’s about 6 hours different than my time zone and no settings to change this. It also doesn’t really get rid of the smell. I wish there was some kind of plastic door they could walk in and out of to hide it better. I wish I had more good things to say about this but really, for what I am spending, I thought it’d be a bit better or high-tech feeling. Come to realize I guess this brand is on the cheaper end so I suppose I got what I paid for.
