    • Great product for multiple cats
The PetSafe ScoopFree SmartSpin Self-Cleaning Cat Litter Box has been a huge timesaver for me. I have 2 cats, so using my old litter boxes, I had to clean daily and had litter all over the floor. Cleaning this is easy as it goes into a tray and come with plastic bags to put in there to hold the waste. Now with ScoopFree SmartSpin, I only have had for 5 days and I will have to change the bag out today as my cats go alot. This is so much better than cleaning everyday. This machine uses less litter than my boxes, so that definitely saves some money. Assembly was a super easy to put together! This product controls the odor and my cats love having a fresh litter box every time. The app is very easy to use. I recommend this product to anyone that would love to have a Self-Cleaning box even if it is for about 5 days before changing the waste bag. If you only have 1 cat, I'm sure you could get by changing bag up to 2 weeks . I would recommend. ... show more

    • Don’t waste your money like me!!!
I bought this litter box a few months ago because I figured hey, I have other PetSafe products I like so this should be awesome! Well as it turns out I should’ve saved my money. Initially I set it up and discovered the add litter function doesn’t even work. (Where I later learned I have to unplug and replug the box back in anytime I add litter.) Annoying, but manageable I figured since I’m so excited I can live with for now. Now, I could’ve asked for a refund/replacement but by the time I realized that window had closed it was too late. First, I had a problems with using several different brands of clumping litter. (Like they say to use!) I originally used a non clumping litter (Pretty Litter) and it worked like a charm besides dumping excess litter into the bin. (Don’t even get started on the bin.) But since that was wasteful and expensive I switched to clumping litter. I tried Dr. Elseys and it worked good for awhile until the litter and waste in the bin began to mold (yuck…) after only a few days worth of piling up. So frustratingly I did numerous hours of googling to find the next best thing. (Where I discovered several other people having these issues as well.) I tried Arm & Hammer Slide next and it didn’t mold! Well, to my surprise when I came to clean the litter box there were pee and poop clumps smeared all over the grate and left side inside the sphere! (Absolutely disgusting!!!) This started happening multiple times almost everyday so I decided to try another brand of litter. I figured maybe it’s just this brand of litter with a problem but I was sooo wrong. I am now currently using Tidy Cat. The clumps still get stuck every few days. Essentially, my automatic litter box turned into a basic litter box that needs to be cleaned every single day. To prevent clumps from dirtying my cat himself (A big boy who barely fits in the litter box as is!) and smearing on the sphere now have to wipe the inside of it down every single day!!! (Extremely frustrating considering it’s AUTOMATIC!) Now I was pissed about that but I figured at this point I need to get my moneys worth and it’s still better than scooping. (Where I was wrong again…) I come home today and discover there are poop clumps trapped between the sphere and its cover. Not only that but it smeared… all around the outside of the sphere inside the cover and left clumps of poop between the sphere and base. (Which is a spot that frequently traps litter as is.) That was my last straw to (angrily) write this review. I was floored and it was a nastier sight than any litter box I’ve ever cleaned. Unfortunately, I can’t use many features in the app as well. Since the ‘add litter’ function is broken it cannot properly sense my cats weight and therefore can never properly track his litter box usage in the app. To top it off, the waste bin doesn’t even properly sense when it’s full like it should. It notified me once it was full to the point it smeared on the underside of the litter box when the bin was being pulled out. I’ve never been more grossed out than when using this litter box. Lastly, the holes in the grate are too big. They let little small leftover clumps of poop fall through back into the clean litter which just defeats the purpose! I believe the only good thing about this product is the fact my dog can’t get in the waste drawer to eat poop anymore which is a miracle but not worth this hassle. I’m very disappointed to say that after months of usage this product, in my opinion, is absolutely garbage and I was so excited for it too! All in all: IT IS NOT WORTH IT! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I've been using this new automatic litter box for about a week now and man, I wish I had gotten it sooner!! I have 3 cats and all 3 are now using it, although it did take a day or 2 for them to adjust, and they still sometimes stare at it when it's in cleaning mode lol. I love that it has an app that tells me the weight of each cat and how long they were in the box and shows me that it successfully cleaned after each use. I also like the feature of being able to do a manual clean if I feel it's necessary. It was easy to put together, only took me about 20 mins by myself. It doesn't actually come with instructions, rather there is a card with a QR code that once scanned, directs you to the full instructions. They were easy to follow. I already had clumping litter on hand because that's what I usually use, but make sure that you only use clumping litter, or else you will probably have issues. I use Fresh Step. I didn't give this all 5 stars for 2 reasons. 1. The function for adding litter for some reason doesn't work. I did read in my research before buying this, that this is a common problem. It can easily be bypassed though simply by unplugging and plugging it back in each time you add litter. Not a deal breaker, just a slight inconvenience. 2. It's rather difficult to actually add the litter with the little lip on the bottom where the cats step into, which I believe is what weighs them. You cannot just take this part off to add litter. I use boxes of litter and usually just pour from the box. You cannot do that with this litter box. I ended up having to use a ladle to scoop the litter from the box into the litter box. From now on, I will probably buy bags of litter instead of boxes. Hopefully that will help. Overall I would definitely recommend this litter box to anyone who has cats and hates constantly cleaning the litter and dealing with smell. Although it's a bit expensive, the time is saves me and the ease of clean up makes it absolutely worth it! Hope this was helpful. ... show more
