The gasket on the lid is very thin and tends to break, crack or tear after a few years of constant use. When my grandmas original zojirushi boiler was on it's last leg and then died randomly I was super excited to find this one. It has a cute little pattern that she really liked. Not only that but it arrived quickly and she was so happy with it. Even though she's gone, I've taken it and use it all the time for anything that needs hot water. i have one exactly like the one i purchased here on amazon...but my old one is at least 10yrs old. I have not plugged the recently purchased one in yet and i am hoping not to be disappointed. it is the exact same model/looks/operation as my 10+year old model.

My father drinks a lot of tea and this gets refilled at least 2-3 times a day. Holds up like a champ and even though he was leery of getting another gadget and taking up more space this has become one of the most used items in the kitchen. Very well made, easy to use and clean. Earns its five stars.

I loved it, but dropped my first one on the floor after having it for nearly a year and a half. Try other types of water boilers, but came back to this because it holds the water at a good temperature all day. So I'm very happy with it.

Good and very easy to use. Keeps the water warm although water also starts to stale with taste after sitting in it warm. The mineral deposits at the bottle of the canister also Avery hard to clear out.
