I LOVE everything about this kettle!! I got the 1.8 liter Black Kettle. It is perfect! The inside is all stainless steel. There are no elements in the area where the water goes. The inside is completely cleanable. It heats up very quickly and quietly (almost TOO quiet!). It hold a lot of water. It is lightweight, compact, and very well-balanced when you pick it up. It is also a GREAT value! For less than $20, this kettle is far superior to other more expensive ones. And on top of all that, this thing is TOTALLY GORGEOUS! It is so sleek and shiny. The curves it has are more like a work of geometrical ART than an appliance! It will be the most beautiful thing on your kitchen counter!! The only downside I've found at all, is that it is a little difficult to put it back on the base. The hole doesn't always line up correctly, and takes a little fiddling sometime. But that is trivial. The only thing I didn't like about the kettle is the fact that you must push a button in center of lid to get it open to put water in. Otherwise, I would have given it a 5. It works fine to give you plenty of boiling water to make tea, hot chocolate or for cooking.
