Operating at 1100W (120V), this kettle boils water to 100°C (212°F), ensuring your water is purified to perfection. This kettle features a secure locking lid that flips back with just the push of a button! The button stays cool, as does the cool- touch handle for safe handling. For easy cleaning, the spout filter is removable. Simply mix 3 tablespoons of vinegar or lemon with water, allow it to boil, and let it sit for a minimum of five hours before drying. Storing the 1.7L kettle is a breeze too, as the 30-inch cord wraps neatly around the base. I actually went with this one because it was going to come a day faster than a replacement and was less expensive—I’m visiting from out of state, so needed something fast, and that I could use for future visits. The first model with the faulty lid was VERY handsome and nice. I am really pleased with this last model too. Because it was so inexpensive I thought it was going to be a ‘cheap’ product; however, it is VERY nice, solid, well-made—feels like quality. It’s wide mouth for ease of cleaning, functions well, heats quickly. It is in fact nicer than the one I’m going home to—trust me, I like nice things and price isn’t much of a concern when I’m looking for quality: Im known as a ‘gadget girl’. If the two kettles are a good indication, This company makes beautiful, quality products. My only complaint is that the measurement guide on these products are metric. I know there is about 227mL to one 8oz cup—so a little bit of math may be needed at first. ... show more

I'm updating this review and changing it to 5 stars as the replacement kettle works wonderfully well, and it's the exact same one as the very first one I bought about 6 years ago! That one lasted 6 years before it finally stopped working. So if you want a great kettle that's a good size and aesthetically pleasing, and comes in beautiful colors, I highly recommend this one! -------------- I had this same kettle for 6 years and it worked great, so recently when it finally died, I decided to purchase the same kettle again. The first one arrived in box that had seen better days and it was obvious that it had been opened and used by someone. So I returned it to Amazon. I still liked the kettle so much (the original one that I had for 6 years) that I decided to give it another try and purchased the same kettle again. This one looked great, nice and shiny and brand new, but the lid at the top of the kettle did not work well, so I returned that one. Once again I decided to purchase the same kettle again (third time's a charm right?) and it's scheduled to arrive tomorrow. We'll see how that goes. I'm giving it 3 stars because of all the issues I had but I will try once more because the first kettle was just so wonderful! If it works out well this time, I will update my review. I hope this kettle will be the one I've been waiting for and I hope it lasts at least as long as my first one did! ... show more

Received yesterday, and so far, everything is good! I'm glad I got this compact device. It heats very quickly and is made of lightweight plastic. The design is cute. It does have an auto shut-off; just press the switch to turn it on and it'll automatically shut off. It lacks temperature control but heats boiling water very fast. Its versatility is excellent for making tea, coffee, ramen, or anything requiring hot water. It does have lighting like some high-end models for that late-night cup of tea or coffee. Overall, I love it and find it much better than using a microwave, which takes 3-5 minutes just to boil water. This is exceptionally nice and aesthetically pleasing :) ... show more

So far I love it but I've only used it once to see how long it took and make sure the light and automatic shut-off was working properly. Both worked wonderfully, lights up while it's on and shuts off when it's done. At max capacity with cold tap water it took approximately 10 minutes to boil. This is not maintaining a bubbling, rolling, overflowing boil, in case someone for some reason expects that, but it is and it's perfect for my uses(reg and loose leaf tea and the occasional instant soup). To clarify it does bubble up for those of you who may not know how these kettles work that is what triggers the shut-off so it then goes back to its resting state. The handle remains cool enough so no danger there, the body of it is decently hot though as is to be expected. Currently it has been shut off for 14 minutes and is still steaming. The way I drink tea I could easily drink a cup and still have enough hot water for another which is kind of awesome. Cons: The plastic is obviously a little cheap feeling as a few others have mentioned. This is really inconsequential to me as the price is low enough I would expect Something to be on the cheaper and I'd rather it be that than say the heating element. It's still decently think and so far appears to distribute or not distribute heat as it should, so not a big deal. As a side note is also still looks fairly nice. Cleaning. Okay so these things are kind of always a bitch to clean. For this one the mouth is fairly small so it was a bit difficult to get my hand down in it to wipe it out(and I am a fairly small woman). Again, a lot of these electric kettles have this issue so to be expected. The kettle cannot be submerged so the outside just needs to be wiped down with a damp cloth or sponge and if any soap is used make sure the soap is cleaned off and it's completely dry before use. Now for the little filter. None of my old kettles have this so it's a new, kind of cool little feature for me. There's nothing really telling you how to remove it or replace it so I had to mess with it a little to figure it out and with the cheap plastic I was a little scared to do so. Was also kind of annoying with the small opening trying to see and feel but it slides out with a little pressure and then you slide it in and pop it back into place so pretty simple once I figured it out. The chord. So the chord is reallyy short. Like you should probably just put it right in front of the plug in. This is probably the most annoying con for me cause the spot I had is really right next to the plug in but still far enough away that it barely reached and my kettle is practically against the next item on my counter. I did plan on getting a strip for that outlet so I'll make it work but was still a bit frustrating. So prepare to have it directly in front of a plug in if you keep it on your counter. Packaging. Okay so I noticed others mention this in reviews and was worried about it but mine showed up all in one piece undamaged. BUT I can see where the concern comes from. It is packaged in a plastic bag inside a box inside your standard Amazon so no not a lot of cushion going on if the handlers were too rough I could easily see it showing up damaged. Side-note: now at nearly 30 minutes and still steaming so that's pretty awesome for a ten minute heating time. Otherwise everything looks good I'm giving 5 stars as none of my cons are more than minor inconveniences I mostly expected and don't really differ from anything in the listing. Great bang for your buck, I'm super excited about it and can't wait for the much needed tea-time it will bring me! 😁 ... show more
