I don't have hot water in my home, and so I was using the first pot to boil water multiple times a day for dishwater (ahem), as well as for soaking some laundry, and other issues around the house. The first pot took a daily beating from me and was still going strong, and I was sad to have ruined it myself. Update...I cleaned the pot really well with Lemon ect....and upon using it I have decided I like it!! The cord is stiff but I figured a way to tuck it away...I like the light when it is heating the water...I also like it doesn't shut off if I pick it up to pour a little ...it will continue heating after the pot is replaced! The kettle heats up quickly and is super easy to use. The pink is really pretty too, so that's nice. It's also easy to clean, which is my issue with regular tea kettles that heat on the stove. This one solves all my problems. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase.
