Chefman Electric Kettle with Temperature Control is a great kettle. It is easy to change the temperature and the color lights for each temp setting are pleasing. I brew loose leaf tea and it works great. The only thing is green tea temp setting is 180 degrees, the kettle setting are 175, 185, 195, 200 and 212 no 180. I just set it to 185 and let it cool a bit before brewing my green tea. Black teas are a temp 212 so perfect for them. It is compact and heats fast. My wife bought this electric kettle because she was tired of boiling water in a tea kettle on our gas cooktop. She also wanted to make the boiling process more efficient by going electric. Although we have an electric hot water dispenser beside the sink, she and my son says that it "tastes funny" and so they wanted an alternative. This electric kettle boils water quickly (up to 1.8 liters, or 7.6 cups, at a time) and has an automatic shutoff (but no audio alert) when completed. The power button is conveniently located on the kettle handle and falls naturally under your thumb. The separate base contains the power cord and has 3 silicone feet and so does not slide on our marble countertop. When the kettle is powered on, a row of blue LEDs light on the kettle lights up, so it's very obvious when the kettle is in operation. The included tea infuser has a friction-fit lid (not a screw-on lid) and the lid fits rather tightly into the infuser. I feel that they could have made the lid of the tea infuser easier and more intuitive to use. Fortunately we don't use the tea infuser much. Hey if you're in high elevation and you're buying this make sure you only use the first three settings. The reason is that it goes by temperature and if the water doesn't actually reach the temperature that it needs to reach to boil then you're going to be having a problem with a bunch of Bubbles and fizzing over and your whole kitchen will be wet if you let it be. The reason why this happens is because water is boiling point changes with elevation but this tea kettle only goes by temperature. I can't use the 212 Fahrenheit or the 200 Fahrenheit or I'm going to have Satan's waterfountain in my kitchen, and it won't shut off, because 212 degrees is gas and 200 degrees does not off either because we're talking about phyisics here. If you live in the mountains, there's nothing wrong with your item. It's the elevation and the point water boils. ... show more

I LOVE this tea pot! never mind all the pretty colors, which is just a bonus to make you you happy. I like that you can see it working. The best feature of this machine, is that it will shut itself off after coming to a boil. Really...how many times have you put something on, and then walked into another room? oops. I have done THAT more than once. That alone makes this worth the price. The teapot also has an infuser, so you can make a whole pot of whatever tea you want, saving most of it for ice tea. We purchased this teapot on Amazon on the 27th of Feb. 2023. I didn't want to write a review right away because I wanted to use it for a few months to make sure I was confident about what I wrote. Here's some stats about my teapot: Weight (just pot, not including the base; as weighed on a new digital scale): When empty = 2.2 pounds. When filled with 1 ltr = 4.5 pounds. When filled with 1.8 ltr = 6.2 pounds. I thought this would be important to those who have arthritis or reduced strength. Heat times (used room temperature, Brita water for each test): 1 ltr = 6.05 minutes. 1.8 ltr = 10.5 minutes. When I compared that to heating on my stove the times were very close to each other, not significantly quicker. Loose tea stainless steel filter works great. I've not had problems with it falling off, but then I don't have same lid as those who gave negative feedback. My lid clicks in and stays in. As does the filter. Only problem I've found with the filter is that once brewing is done, cleaning it out is tedious. I tried running water from the outside but many leaves still remained inside the cylinder. However, I still really like this ability to make my hibiscus tea a whole pot at a time. There is a mesh filter in the pour spout which I really like. It filters out all but the most fine residue. It also helps keep the steam from coming out as much as it would if the mesh wasn't there. I wish we could turn off the beep. When my light-sleeper roommate is in bed I am forced into using the stove so the loud, irritating beep doesn't wake them up. After 2 months of daily use the plastic covering the power button began to lift away & looks like it will eventually begin to peal off. Photo included. ... show more

I have used this electric kettle and can confidently say I am satisfied. I appreciate the different temperature settings it offers and the fact that I can also use it to make tea. However, one minor issue I have noticed is that watermarks can be a bit bothersome to remove after a few uses.

    • Boiling 220° doesn't stop.

After waiting 10 min for the kettle to stop boiling at 220° I manually stopped it, used a food thermometer to test & it was over 220. Tried it again w fresh cool water & lower temp & it DID shut off. Also had to allow more steeping time on the 3 family size tea bags than was suggested in instructions. No written instruction on how to remove the tea holder from the lid. Finally found black raised words on the underside of the black lid. Thank heavens for good eyesight. Did make good tea once I worked everything out. Not recommended for anyone w arthritis or poor eyesight. ... show more

I use this 2x a day and it’s perfect. Easy to use but I dislike the tea holder connected to lid. I just removed it bc it’s hard to clean after. Not an issue really.
