  • The most beautiful crib I have ever seen
I was set to get the Sleigh Crib from PBK. But then when we moved into our new house, I realized that crib would be way to large for the baby's room. It would not fit a changing table, the crib and a rocker/glider. Therefore, I needed to somehow compromise. I started researching again and by accident came across this crib. I fell in love w/ it as soon as I saw it, but I was skeptical about buying it, because so many reviews said they had received damaged products. I wished I could go into a store and see it first. That was not possible, so I still went ahead and bought the crib (emotional/impulse buying I guess). The crib arrived after 4-5 days of ordering it and the box was a little damaged on the outside. I panicked thinking that it was going to be damaged inside as well. I am 8 months pregnant and this box is huge when it comes...and very heavy....I did not touch it myself, I had the carrier leave it at my door and when my husband came home, he moved it inside the house. Two weeks later, my husband found the time to actually put the crib together. He assembled it within 1 hour by himself. I was taking pictures for the baby book while he was doing that. As he was putting it together we were both so impressed with the quality of the paint...Just gorgeous...I have to say that it is a bit larger than I had anticipated and way, way more beautiful than I had imagined. I would buy this again in a heartbeat. As my husband was saying when putting it together: "we don't need to leave it inheritance to our grandchildren; it just needs to serve a purpose for the next 2 years". We are so pleased w/ how it looks in our baby's room...Please, don't get discouraged by the reviews about damaged boxes. We bought both the crib and changing table and none were damaged and they were so well packed inside...When you put them together, they look amazing! We painted the baby's room light blue and we're planning on getting a white/light blue rocker to go with the room. To give you an idea of the quality of things I bought for our son: the Stokee Stroller, Britax car seat and many other quality brands. I don't just buy for the looks of things. But fortunately for us, this crib set seems to be a mixture of both quality, looks and convenience. I will have to take pics and upload them when I am done with the room. UPDATE as of 05/22/11 We've had this crib for 11 months (our baby is now 10 months old). We still love it and it is in perfect shape. Nothing was scratched, nothing was damaged in any way. The paint is intact and it looks like we bought it yesterday. Our baby is very big ( at 10 months wears clothes for 18 months olds) and due to his length, we have decided to buy him a toddler bed in a couple of months (maybe when he's 16 months). The crib seems to be a tad narrower and shorter than regular cribs. So if you know you have tall people in your family, keep that in mind. Luckily for us, we have decided to start trying for baby #2 soon, so this crib, the dresser and the changing table that go with it will all remain into place for baby no #2 and we will move baby #1 in another room where we will purchase new toddler furniture. I would say that this set has served its purpose and now I am very glad I did not splurge on the Sleigh crib by Pottery Barn or the Oeuf. I cannot imagine what else parents need from this crib than to be sturdy and look beautiful. It has served its purpose well and we could not be more happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • Great crib and great customer service
So far, we are very happy with this crib. Our baby is not here yet, so this review is based on look, feel, and customer service experience. The crib looks really nice and it feels very sturdy. Initially, we wanted the all-white one, but we found the two-tone contrast makes it look more impressive, without clashing with the nursery colors and decor. It arrived packaged well, and assembly was quite simple. We have the Moonlight Slumber Little Dreamer® Dual Firmness All Foam Crib Mattress and it fit in the crib perfectly snug in the long dimension. In the shorter dimension there is a little bit of a gap between the mattress and the crib rails, but within the two-finger rule. One thing we were very happy about is the Million Dollar Baby (parent company of Babyletto) customer service. They are very responsive over email, and they move quickly to fix issues without a lot of fuss. In our case, when we unpacked the crib, we found a small crack on the toddler rail. Since Amazon does not mail replacement parts and we did not want to deal with a full product replacement, we contacted the manufacturer through their online form. They responded very quickly and sent us a replacement rail. Somehow, this new rail was the wrong dimensions, but after we emailed them again, they quickly sent us another rail that now seems to be correct. ... show more

  • Low profile is the best feature (2nd Update)
We purchased this crib through Amazon with no shipping issues or damage to the crib. We've been using this crib for 4 months and absolutely love it. Yes, it's modern & beautiful but I think the thing I love most about this crib is the low profile. With the matress at the highest setting for a newborn, I could bend over without putting any pressure on the crib itself (I'm 5'8") and give my daughter her goodnight kiss. While that my not seem like a big deal, I find that my daughter loves when I put my face up against hers for just a few minutes when she's really tired & about to fall asleep. When I go to my MIL's house, where she has a standard height crib set up, I really miss this feature, as does my baby. If you can't resist giving your baby a kiss while he / she is sleeping, you'll love the lower profile cribs. :) **UPDATE**06/15/11 We've now had this crib for approx. 15 months. My daughter is still sleeping in it & we still love it as much, if not more than when I wrote the original review. My daughter is 15 months & still not walking so usually when we go in to get her in the morning she is sitting up, not standing so it's nice to be able bend over without having to reach too low to pick up a 25 lb baby! We use a regular sized (height) crib at our in-laws house & it reminds me how grateful I am for our crib at home. We are expecting #2 & are thinking about buying the exact same crib. I have no desire to hurry my daughter out of her crib. She seems to enjoy it too. No scratches, nicks or damage to the crib still. It's in as good shape as it was when we bought it. You do have to tighten the screws every once in awhile but that's normal for all cribs. **UPDATE #2**03/16/13 We ended up purchasing a 2nd crib for our younger child as our older daughter was fully content with sleeping in a crib @ 21 months when our younger daughter was born (why mess with a good thing?). We still absolutely love this crib. Our almost 3 year old is still using hers but it has been converted to a toddler bed which is fantastic. Low to the ground for easy in & out & she just loves it. The rail comes about 1/2 way down the side so she still remains safely in her bed even with some tossing around at night. We do have lots of teeth marks on the rails so I would highly suggest buying teething rails. We finally did so (purchased at Ikea) but much of the damage has already been done. We've used (& still use) many cribs & this is by far our favourite. As I mentioned in the original review, we use a stabdard sized crib (I.e. not low profile) at the inlaws as well as ones we purchased used from our cottage. I do find them to be a pain to get older kids into & out of. We also use an Ikea lower profile crib at my mom's house that was inexpensive & that I definitely prefer over the standard height cribs but it still lags behind the Babyletto Modo because a) it doesn't convert to a toddler bed (which I believe gives us at least another year or two of use), & b) has round spindles that I don't like as much as the side rails on this crib. Also, the long one piece bumpers (for use with older children so that binkies stay in bed :)), do NOT fit well in the Ikea crib at all. Hope this helps your decision making! ... show more

  • Excellent crib to toddler bed Excellent crib to toddler bed
Color: Washed Natural
Easy to put together, comes with toddler rail which is hard to find. This is our second babyletto crib and we wouldn’t use anything else for our kids. Very sturdy design, goes well with any decor.

  • Modo 3 in 1 - Espresso and White - Updated
The Babyletto Modo is a pretty good crib for the money. Probably lighter weight than some others I've seen but well made. Assembly took about an hour with time split between working on the crib and glancing at the television. Some parts could be better labeled, Allen wrench is meh, but instructions are clear enough. Espresso color is one of the lighter ones I've seen - more towards red/brown then black.. We also got the matching 3 drawer dresser/changer - pretty much the same feedback on it. It is a step above other press board/Scandinavian furniture that I've put together. It still uses the round metal cams and wooden dowels for most joints, but the wood itself is heavier grade (some wood, some press board, some card board) with a thicker veneer. For example: drawer fronts are real wood as are the drawer sites, but not the bottoms. We're still expecting, so no use case yet. **UPDATE: TL:DR Sticking with 4 stars even 4+ years later.** Well odd that my original review for espresso fell under the white product, but no worries - we ended up buying both. The espresso is now going on 5 years old (about 7/2012) and the white is going on 3 years old. So far the white one has held up better - -even with the girl being more into chewing - granted the espresso is older, but it's prone to scratches. All told they still look just fine from the door. I initially had the same gripe as others - when I swapped out one side on the espresso the included toddler rail it left an unsightly gap. Well I just moved to the toddler rail on the white one and either I picked the "right" side or they updated the design because the holes are lower and there is no gap.(YAY!) I'm not sure how the 3rd mode works in practice. My only advice is to either tape those bolts to the rail before you store it for 2 years or tape them to the bottom of the crib; do not try to use the long bolts on the toddler rail..... ... show more

  • Very pleased.
We received this crib quickly and the packaging was intact. No dents, bumps, scratches in the crib pieces when we opened the box and everything was packed neatly and efficiently. I was 5 months pregnant when the box came and I assembled the crib mostly by myself in less than an hour. Needed my husband to help me hold a few things in place, but only because I'm somewhat clumsy! Assembly was very easy and I love that the fasteners are placed discreetly so you don't see a bunch of shinly metal screws all over. We love the simple, more modern design of the crib and the finish is beautiful. Very pleased with the aesthetics. I did bump into it with the vacuum (I said I was clumsy!) the other day and leave a little ding, but I figure it's furniture for a kids room and it's going to get a little beat up. I had read reviews that the wood was a little soft and dings easily so I was not surprised to see that my vacuum bump left a mark, but I guess I just expect that any baby/kid furniture is going to get beat up over time so that was really not a huge issue to me. As I write this I am 6 months pregnant, so we have no little one using the crib yet and I cannot review based on usage. But based on packaging, shipping, assembly, and appearance we are very pleased! ... show more
