    • This is the type OTC you want
Here's the key to why I like this: you can tune it to your hearing loss. Some people just need an amplifier (which is what a lot of OTC hearing aids are). Me, I need to be able to target which areas get boosted. In reality, that's a lot of people. Hearing loss is often in specific ranges rather than across the board. This instrument includes an app that lets you target specific frequencies--much like using a graphic equalizer. Does it match my $800 hearing aid? Okay, no, but then my prescription one was $800 for ONE instrument. This is well under half that for a set. I've tried a number of OTC hearing aids over the last year and none have come close to this one. For the money, it's a decent way to go, particularly if you are debating hearing aids or want a back up set. I absolutely love the recharging case.     • Actual hearing aid not just a audio amplifier
I tried some other over the counter hearing aids and found them to just be audio amplifiers, meaning they amplified everything. When walking with jeans on I could hear my thighs rubbing together. These hearing aids do a much better job of enhancing the frequencies you need enhanced. I really like the smartphone app you can use to tune the hearing aids for you. I have not been to a professional yet to have my hearing tested but these hearing aids with the app confirmed what I thought. Showed me which ear was worse and what frequencies each ear was having trouble with. For me these are working perfectly. If you already have good hearing aids these may work as a great option for a spare in an emergency. The case charges each hearing aid and the case itself charges via a USB-C port which is now pretty common for most phone chargers and other electronic chargers. ... show more

    • Bluetooth control works good with these over the ear hearing amplifiers
This is a good pair of over the ear hearing amplifiers. I have a very costly prescription set of actual hearing aids that are over the ear and work on a blue tooth app. These seem to work just as well as my prescription set does. The functions are the same and this app even has an evaluation mode for setting it up to my needs. My high end prescription set requires me to see the audiologist to do this. Now I am not saying not to see a professional for a proper hearing test. What I am saying is these are a much lower cost that would allow a person with some hearing issues to at least try first to see if it helps them. I have some major hearing loss in one ear and these seem to help me with the tones that I can not normally hear with unless I have my hearing aid in. So getting these, installing the free " HA-FIT" app and trying the evaluation will actually help you set these up to best fit your needs. Certainly worth giving them a try because to me , they are now backups to my professional hearing aids. I would give these a 5 star but I do not know how long or durable they will be overtime.     • Natural sound, good app
These OTC hearing aids have a more natural sound than do several other brands I have tried. The "HA-Fit" app that works with the aids is fairly well designed. It connected easily to both aids. Among other things, the app provides a hearing test that automatically adjusts the frequency response curve of each aid. Also adjustable via the app (each side individually or both aids at the same time) are volume, frequency response, three sound modes, a noise suppression switch, and MPO (maximum power output, which controls the maximum volume of sound the aids can send to the ears). Some of those parameters can also be adjusted by using each aid's multi-function button. It was easy to connect the aids via Bluetooth to my iPhone. Now whenever I play music on the phone that sound is sent to the aids, temporarily making them function as earbuds rather than hearing aids. ... show more

There are many volume options, made even better using the Bluetooth option. I am not well-versed on Bluetooth usage, but I can tell you how I feel using them. Like I said, very comfortable, I am able to hear three times more than I could, and I do not feel left out anymore. On top of their functionality, they are small enough to not be very noticeable. They hide very well. Included a package of cerumen strainers, earplugs, cleaning brush, USB cable, and charging/carrying case. These are a good option if you need something to help improve your hearing. They come with a nice charging case. You can use them with your phone Bluetooth or on their own.
