  • Work great, multiple background noise filters, fit well, and plays music from phone.
These are excellent. Small size, easy to insert and remove, work really well. Use a lot for playing music on phone, and to enhance voices in conversations. Multiple noise filters based on your environment (noisy restaurant, watching TV, at movies, just chatting - select filter that best fits the situation). In every case, it helps me pick up on the conversations. Can easily set volume and tone for each ear via phone app. And lets me play music etc from my phone, so also are excellent ear buds for music, and they stay in place really well, and are not readily visible. Also includes several background sounds I can use to help lull me to sleep or just distract from my tinnitus (white, pink, brow, blue noise, bubbling brook, etc, many to choose from). The tinnitus options were one of the reasons I chose this hearing aid. And since they will play sound tracks downloaded to my phone, I can use them to play alternate tinnitus sounds I find and download (tho jury is still out as to how much or even whether various sounds can influence tinnitus). I bought the protection package just in case, but regardless, if something happens to these, I will definitely buy another set again. ... show more

  • Impressive Sound Clarity and Surprisingly Easy to Use
I’ve been genuinely impressed with these hearing aids so far. The sound quality is much clearer and more natural than I expected, especially during conversations in noisy environments. Voices sound crisp without that harsh or overly amplified feeling that some hearing devices can have. Watching TV and listening to music has also been noticeably better — the Music Mode really does make audio sound fuller and more detailed. The app setup was simple, and the redesigned interface makes adjustments very easy even if you’re not very tech-savvy. I like being able to fine-tune the sound quickly from my phone without digging through complicated menus. The ambient soundscapes are actually a nice bonus too, especially for relaxing or focusing while working. One feature that really stood out to me was the fast charging. Being able to get several hours of use from just a short 15-minute charge is extremely convenient, especially on busy days. Battery life overall has been excellent, and the charging case keeps everything ready to go. Comfort has also been a huge plus. They’re lightweight enough that I forget I’m wearing them after a while, and the included dome sizes made it easy to find a good fit. The automatic on/off function when removing them from the case is another small feature that makes daily use effortless. The AI translation feature is honestly pretty impressive as well. It feels like a modern feature you wouldn’t normally expect in hearing aids, and it could be incredibly useful for travel or conversations with people speaking different languages. Overall, these feel much more advanced and polished than many OTC hearing aids I’ve seen, and they’ve made daily conversations much easier and more enjoyable. ... show more

  • Easy to setup, good support, decent sound quality, but devices are a bit large...
I've been using the Beyond Pros for 2 weeks now. I am somewhat new to hearing aid usage, less than 6 months. My hearing loss is moderate to severe in the high freq. range and I also have noise induced tinnitus. After a trial period using prescription hearing aids ($3k), I returned them as they just didn't seem to provide the benefit considering the cost. I thought I'd try an OTC hearing aid. Research seemed to point me to these Beyond Pro's due to the features and lower cost of course. I ordered here on Amazon and they arrived same day. Pros: They are easy to setup, and the Elehear app is very use (much better app than the prescription set I returned). I had no issues installing the app and getting the pair of devices working. The case is great, once fully charged, it will charge your aids several times without plugging it into a A/C outlet. The aids themselves have enough charge to last from early morning to late in the evening, and that includes using Bluetooth connectivity the entire time. And the Bluetooth seems very solid, no issues at all with connectivity to my Android phone. After performing their online hearing test via the app, I submitted the results to Elehear and within a few hours received a customized set of adjustments from their audiologist. The custom set was just a "click" to apply in the app. Very easy. A couple of questions I had were quickly handled via their support phone number, one time they answered my call on the 2nd ring, another call I left a message and they returned my call within several minutes. I can hear as clearly with these as I could with the prescription pair. The tinnitus feature is nice and has several masking sounds to choose from. Now for the Cons... my main concern is the size of the devices. They are much larger than the prescription pair I tried. The size is very noticeable when you put on a pair of glasses or even a hat in some cases. They just don't feel as comfortable due to their size. And if the user is a small person with smaller ears, I am sure they would be visible to others unless the person has long hair to cover them up. They need to get the size reduced. Overall, 4 stars from me, would be a 5 if not for their larger size. ... show more

  • These are terrific. And I’m a tough grader.
Okay, I'll be totally honest—when I first put these ELEHEAR Beyond Pros on, they were not tuned well. Things sounded a little weird. But read on. It gets better. Here's where the company really shines. I submitted my hearing test results, and within less than an hour, an actual audiologist had reviewed them and gotten back to me! They pushed a new setting to my app, and that made a tremendous improvement. The own-voice distortion was greatly improved, and other voices were crystal clear. The company was proactive in calling me to see if I required any more help. I did get some help for feedback problems which greatly improved that issue also. Beyond just the basic hearing, the extra bells and whistles are great. I've used the earbud function for streaming music, tried out the AI translation feature, and even used the tinnitus relief sounds—they all work flawlessly. One really pleasant surprise: the battery life has actually gotten better with regular use. I wasn't expecting that at all! It feels like every single day, these little devices learn and adjust a bit more, fine-tuning themselves to my ears. Honestly, these are better than the expensive prescription hearing aids I used to wear. They are more comfortable and the sound quality beats them hands down. If you can handle a quick setup and initial adjustment, these are a total game-changer. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Works ok for the price
One of the better OTC hearing aids, but that is a bit of a low hurdle. Be aware that if you wear glasses, even if you get the slightly longer wires that the company offers, they still will be a difficult fit. Tuning of these with the app is ok, and the free audiologist test and programming can give you better results. However these are mainly tuned to high frequency hearing loss, so don't expect to use the music option and get decent results (little to no bass response). If you keep in mind that these are mainly for amplification, you'll do ok. You certainly will be hard pressed to find anything better for the price. ... show more

  • Detailed review: My quality of life has greatly improved!
I bought a pair five months ago after realizing that I have "hidden" hearing loss. I've lived next to a highway for the past five years, and the environmental noise pollution has slowly diminished my overall health. The catalyst for researching my symptoms was that I was unable to bear the pain that hyperacusis caused me. I constantly wore wax earplugs to drown out the highway noise, but I needed something that addressed my other symptoms: tinnitus, difficulty locating sounds/background noises, and avoiding social situations due to auditory fatigue. I can't afford prescription hearing aids, so I chose to try out Elehear after doing a few weeks of research. Because of how dynamic my hearing loss is, I needed to find an OTC pair that had a lot of customizable features. The app works great on both my iPhone and iPad! The hearing aids come with a few preprogrammed modes: General, Restaurant, Music, and TV. The best way that I can describe the restaurant mode is that makes it feel like you're in a fishbowl with whoever you're having a conversation with? It definitely makes focusing on your discussion easier when in public environments. I set up my own mode with the noise cancellation at maximum because I like how calm it makes me feel! You can customize each pair of hearing aids to have separate settings which is cool. There's also a section with "serene" sounds such as rain, cats, crickets, waterfalls, white noise, and wind. I believe this feature is for people that use background noise to combat their tinnitus. I'm not a huge fan of background noise/music in general, so I don't use the feature. You're able to stack different sounds on top of each other (like rain/frog) which I think is neat. An underrated feature of the hearing aids is its 20 language AI translation. I'm a cashier, and I tested out a few languages with customers. I was surprised at its accuracy, especially with Hindi and Mandarin! I read a couple reviews that talk about how the hearing aids aren't as great as expensive ones. While I've never used a pair of prescription hearing aids, I wouldn't expect a $500 pair to match a $2,000 pair's quality. If you're someone that's looking for a pair of customizable and "affordable" hearing aids, I'd recommend them. The reviews that say that the hearing aids are chunky/obvious are true. I happen to like this style because of how easily people know that I struggle with hearing loss. I feel like it makes people more patient with me. I love listening to music in them. The audio quality feels comparable to AirPods to me. My biggest critique of them is that you're unable to manually skip songs with the volume buttons. You can pause audio, but it's admittedly awkward. The volume control in itself is normal though! The bluetooth works great for me. I'm told that the microphone is quiet during phone calls. I speak softly, so there's probably more that I can do to improve my sound quality. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ... show more

  • Bad customer support & app that does not work
App did not work!!! Spent days, numerous tech support emails, then at least an hour on the phone to get the App to work. Then Tech support can't tell you how to use the App. Tech support is only avail 9-5, 5 days per week. There are several competitor hearing aids on the market with better features, FDA approval and waterproof for the same money. Save yourself from a known problem and go elsewhere. ... show more

  • Amplifies sound but not at specific frequencies
These really just amplify sound. The ability to change the brightness does not allow for the fine tuning to bring up voices; instead, everything is just louder. I tried a wide range of settings and ear pieces and none actually allowed me to hear people speaking more clearly. For the record, I have mild to mid hearing loss. The biggest problem for me is hearing people in large rooms and this did not help with that. They are comfortable and easy to use. ... show more
