Visit the Store Will Atom X work in a noisy restaurant? It reduces background noise and helps in everyday settings, but no OTC device fully restores hearing in very loud, crowded rooms. Use the modes to match your environment. What's the difference between the two modes? Conversation Mode boosts speech; Comfort Mode softens your own voice. If you sound boomy or echoey to yourself, switch to Comfort Mode on the touchscreen case. How do I get the fullest sound and volume? A full seal, the right mode, and volume level make the biggest difference. Fit each dome until the sound is rich with no whistling, set Conversation Mode for speech, and raise the volume on the touchscreen case if needed. Why do they whistle or squeal? Whistling (feedback) almost always means the dome isn't sealed — reseat it or move up a size. If it continues, lower the volume on the touchscreen case and check your ears for wax buildup, which reflects sound back out. It's a fit issue, not a defect One aid won't charge. Still getting "user friendly" with some of the unique features within these quality hearing aids. Very nice and helpful people available to answer questions - which I have done a few times already in three days. I have paid over three thousand for a disappointing pair, and a few hundred for a "back up" pair which are o.k. - but not as good as these from AUDIEN. These ATOM X aids hold a charge for a full nine hours, and that makes me smile! They "Pair" well with other items (including T.V. use). The Blue tooth format and adjustable case (which is necessary to have with a person) are very well thought through. The charging process also has a feature to assist keeping these aids clean. The ATOM X versatility allows controlling each ear separately...a welcome feature for me! Note to others: No hearing aids cure deafness...they (well, the good ones like the ATOM X ) make life a lot more tolerable. Also, my glasses are no longer "in the way", because these are snugly operating in my ears, and not behind my ears. Fine value and quality. These have many features which are not available at ten times the price~! KUDOS, AUDIEN! (and THANKS!).

I found these otc hearing aids to be quite effective, especially at amplifying sounds and voices especially. They help me enjoy watching tv so much more. The cost of these was more than double the cost of the lower priced ones, and I’m not sure if the quality is better or not. I will still probably need to have a hearing test to determine my exact issues, but I don’t really want to spend thousands of dollars for a hearing aid that may not help me more than these do. They are easy to use, fit reasonably well, easily charged and maintained. I don’t wear them a lot yet, but I think they are definitely worth the modest price as compared to very expensive ones.

After using Signia Hearing Aids for several years I figured I’d give these a try. In my case they were very uncomfortable . At first I thought the case was a good idea, but it was a nuisance carrying it in my pocket, I prefer the convenience of cell phone App control. As far as performance, I didn’t find any hearing improvement whatsoever, actually, I heard much better without them. Constant whistling was extremely annoying. Reality is, there is no cheap substitute for real hearing aids. I’ve tried other in ear styles that actually are hidden in the ear canal, these do not, only the small tip extends into the ear canal and the rest of the device protrudes and is highly visible in the outer ear. These aids may be beneficial to those with minor hearing loss, but definitely not a substitute for the real thing. Nice idea but more of a novelty to me than effective. Every time you adjust them in your ear you easily hit the large button that throws off any sound settings you’ve set. Guess I didn’t mention the button on the outside of the hearing aid that also adjusts sounds.I guess that’s where the remote case comes into play, at least you can see where everything is at. Apparently, other reviewers are doing well with them, Luckily there is a trial period if you want to give them a try.

These hearing aids weren't for me, but for my grandma. So I can only testify to their effectiveness second-hand. But I will do my best to do so. For a long time, when I went to meet her, she was wearing headphones connected to a microphone-style amplifier. But the headphones were quite uncomfortable and she'd usually take them off when she could. However, these earbud-style hearing aids seemed much more comfortable for her. She'd leave them in, and forget they were there! Sometimes when she was wearing the headphones, we had to raise our voices, and fiddle with the volume knob to get the sound level right. However, these earbud-style hearing aids were consistent and made life much easier, especially when dealing with the noise level. They were adjustible to her level of comfort and made it easy for her to hear. They were small and fit easily in her ear, and also easy to take out and clean. They always stayed connected via bluetooth, and their battery lasted a full day or longer, and were easy to recharge in the case. Overall, judging by how my grandma seemed to enjoy and use them, these earbud-style hearing aids are great! I'd recommend them for anyone looking for comfortable, easy, simple assistance with hearing.

Just into 2nd day of using the hearing aids. They work much better than the hearing amplifier ones. The noise canceling seems to work. Bluetooth works extremely well. The remote charger and touch screen is easy-to-use.

Here’s the truth folks: I do not get products for free to review. I have PAID for every item I review. You can believe what I tell you. I have bought SIX different OTC (non-prescription) type hearing aids with this one from Audien being my last one. I really wanted them to work for me as I didn’t want to go through the hassle and expense of going to a hearing aid store/clinic and all that involves. I bet you feel the same way or you wouldn’t be reading this. Now, I have moderate hearing loss in my left ear and severe loss in my right. I can “hear” but I have to say “what” a lot, and pretend I hear conversations that I only hear “some” of. I can’t stand it anymore! (You too?) Because I still hear most things (after people repeat themselves) I really wanted and thought, a hearing aid like this (and many others) would help. I wasn’t expecting perfection but if it “helped”, I would be ok with that. So, I tried several different brands - from $99 to the Audien at around $299. All brands clearly stated that they were NOT just “amplifying” devices, but were actual hearing aids at a reduced price. Regardless of what is said in their ads and on the box, this is a gross exaggeration. The cheaper brands squealed and screeched so badly, I probably damaged my hearing even more! No matter what I did, I couldn’t stop the feedback noise. And all they did was amplify sounds - not what prescription aids do. The Audien was the best of the bunch but unfortunately, still not good enough. The touch screen charging case is excellent and made adjustments easy - unlike other brands that have a microscopic button you have to push while it’s IN your ear! Horrible. The Audien X makes adjustments easy as pie with the innovative case. Sadly, sound quality is still mediocre. They “might” be satisfactory for folks with mild hearing loss but I still don’t recommend them for moderate to severe loss such as I have. And I really wanted to like these too. At $299, they are overpriced but that’s because of the sophisticated charging case. I was willing to pay the extra money if the sound quality was decent, but it really wasn’t. It sounded echo-y and artificial sounding. And I still had to say “what” a lot. It was a slight improvement but only slight. I finally bit the bullet and went to get prescription hearing aids. Unless your loss is mild, I highly suggest you do the same. It’s worth the investment. The Audien X certainly is “better” than other brands of OTC hearing devices, but ultimately it’s still “mostly” an amplification device with little of the sophistication of prescription hearing aids. Take an online hearing test (free) to get an idea of how bad your loss is, and then decide. If it’s mild, the Audien X is a good place to start, if it’s moderate, it “might” be satisfactory for you. If it’s severe, don’t waste your time. Audien probably would say the same thing. Good luck to you. Thanks for your time. Any questions? Just ask. I am an 83 year old male. I went for a hearing test last month and found that the higher end of my hearing had dropped off sharply. The specialist attempted to sell me some hearing aids for $4000 and up. I ordered an in-the-ear hearing aid, the ATOM X. They were wonderful when working, and the price was quite amazing! But I did have problems with the set I had received and was afraid of dropping and losing them. I returned them to Audien without any problem, receiving full refund. I ordered the Audien Ion Pro 2. It is very comfortable and works great as a hearing aid. I can hear the birds singing, and the floor boards creak as I walk across the room & my wife doesn’t have to shout! I am very satisfied with the sound and total quality of these hearing aids, and most especially the price. Plus, I got a call from Audien this morning to help me with any questions I may have, my satisfaction, and to offer support in the future. I recommend Audien as a reputable company with quality hearing aids at low cost!
