I started the plants in a greenhouse of a friend, then moved them to the yard in early May. They did great. The package says 4-5 ft in height. I have one over 9 feet tall and everyone is over 5 feet, most are 6-7. They were planted in a bunch, spaced closer than recommended in a foot of good soil that had been placed over an old walnut tree stump. (Walnut trees put out a chemical that prevents a lot of plants from growing, so I wanted to make certain there was a good bit of soil above it.) The plants were irrigated with a drip system on a timer. Several have commented on the bright red flowers, and there have been blooms, and still blooming, for more than a month. I only recently deadheaded them, and that seems to have sparked more buds. They did not make a mass of solid flowers like some plants do. I learned, too late, that they can be trimmed like bee balm and other flowers to make them shorter and produce more buds. I did some testing, and yes, cutting does some to promote multiple stocks and more flowers. But they are wild flowers, and I planted them in a area where I plant other wildflowers.
