Do not water until the plant shows signs of recovery. Trim away any severely damaged or mushy leaves. If the roots are unaffected, the plant may recover over time. How to save dried-up succulent? Soak the soil thoroughly (bottom watering is ideal) and allow excess water to drain. Place the plant in indirect light and monitor for signs of recovery. How to save crushed succulent? (rough handling during transit) Gently remove any severely damaged leaves or stems. The succulents' leaves will grow back soon. How to water succulent? There is a method of watering succulents that applies to full-year growth for succulents which is called 'soak and dry'. Just water and soak the soil thoroughly once you discover the soil is completely dry. How much sunlight do succulents need? I am cautiously optimistic. The plant started its journey to my home carefully packaged and looking like it was well taken care of prior to its journey. Despite the note on my page, the box was left on my open porch floor - not in the mail box or the package box available for small deliveries. No doorbell ring or knock. It sat in the box long enough to get very cold indeed. It has lost many pearls, but it has been planted and seems to like its new pot. It is warm, has light and is doing well! That's a testament to the grower that it made it through the freezing cold! Thank you for packaging it so well, insulating it in the box, and sending such a healthy start! Loving it!💚 ... show more

I was worried at first, as my string of pearls plant looked a little beat up after its shipping journey. I watered it well and put it in an east-facing window, and one week later it looks great. There is new growth, and all the "pearls" are healthy looking too. I have accidentally killed a few of these wonderful succulents in the past...hoping this time's the charm and I can keep this one going. 🤞 Update: Look at her (pic 3)! I was pleasantly surprised! The String of Pearls were in a pot below the top of it with cotton placed loosely on top of the plant for safer traveling.
