Description

The goldfish plant (Nematanthus gregarious) earned its name because of the masses of red-orange flowers that appear in the spring and summer and look a bit like leaping goldfish. They are profuse bloomers when cared for and add splashes of color. Indoors, these are great cascading plants for a bright sill or can be used in baskets. Goldfish plants prefer bright light, but they don't like direct light. During the summer, water generously and keep the soil continuously moist. In the winter, cut back on the water and allow the soil to become slightly drier. Goldfish houseplants are best in room temperatures of 65 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit.

I have ordered from this company before and the goldfish plants arrived quickly and in nice shape. Today when I opened up my plants one had slugs in it. I picked out a few slugs and tried to go through the plants thoroughly in hopes of finding all the slugs as they will eat up my plants. Hopefully I got them all as I just love these plants. The flowers that bloom on them look just like little goldfish. After paying the price for them plus shipping I would think the plants would of been slug free. ... show more

This plant came with all the leaves off the branches and they were soggy. There was so much water in there I could squeeze the dirt and water will come out.. It lost all its leaves, and the leaves that are still on there. The bottom of the branch is pretty much dead. I’m trying to revive it. Dried it out transplant it but we’ll see. It’s probably gonna go back. Because there’s just one little branch about an inch more that actually looks healthy. Very sad for the price.. ... show more

    • Nice hard to find goldfish plant
My plant arrived with minimal broken leaves and very dry. I gave it some water, and sat it on my stand near window. It seems to be doing fine. The plant was a decent size. Stems not hanging down yet as they are a bit too short. It's a nice specimen and I'm anxious to see it grow.
