  • Good Customer Service- Hardy Plants Travel Well
My first order of these plants arrived and 4 of the six were in bad shape. They chose plants that were not hardy for travel and most if the leaves had fallen off. I contacted the company and they said they would try again. It look over a week or so, but I got confirmation that a new shipment was being sent. The new plants arrived today and they are perfect. Very hardy leaf choices and a variety of pretty little starter plants. I appreciate their kind customer service. I do agree with others that the shipping could be quicker considering the product, but I'm a happy customer. Be sure to get them opened ASAP when they arrive. ... show more

  • These are a great value and great quality!
I've had these for about 3 weeks. I have long windows w/3" windowsills, (row-home) and these plants were perfect. 4 of the 6 plants are ivy-ish, and going nuts on the sills. The other 2, one is a spider plant/fern, which likes the bathroom. The other (don't remember the name), dark green w/pink on the leaves, prefers low light, and is growing nicely as well. They came very nicely and thoughtfully packaged. This is a great deal and would make a wonderful gift. Used the Burpee 8 quart potting mix for their growth. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Packaged and shipped with care
With the exception of the questionable begonia, the plants arrived in excellent shape. Each one was in a bag, cinched, but open at the top for air flow. A stick was added to each pot to prevent crushing. Each little pot then was put into its own cell in the box, with a warming pad tucked underneath the cells to keep them warm in transit. There was also a very healthy little air plant thrown in as a gift. Really outstanding care. If I judged this order on 3 of the 6 plants alone, it would be a 5+++ star rating. I deducted only one star, but for multiple reasons. 1. Two plants came unlabeled. One is obviously some type of begonia, but I can't tell what type. The other one, I have no clue as to what it is, but it's pretty and seems very healthy. 2. The (most likely) begonia is looking pretty trashed. It's wilty, and most of the leaves are beat up with rips, dry brown spots, and crispy edges. It really shouldn't have been sent out in that shape. 3. While it's in healthy shape, I really don't feel like the polka dot plant should be included in this grouping. They're not great house plants, quickly getting leggy without lots of pinching back, and really only last about a year. This makes sense, because as outdoor plants, they're considered an annual. I consider them "gimmick plants" as they generally appear in grocery stores around Easter. These are my only complaints, and with all three combined, I still only removed one star. The remaining three plants are the Wandering Jew, the ivy, and the pothos. All three appear bright and healthy. On the basis of these plants, the overall condition of 5 of the 6, and the exceptional care given to the packaging and shipping, I give this order 4 stars. ... show more

  • Very disappointed
I have over 70 houseplants and I have over 35 years experience growing them so this review comes from someone who is experienced. I placed my order for these plants on 9/20 and received them on 9/26. For starters, plants or anything live should be delivered within 2 days of being shipped. 4, 5, 6 days should be frowned upon especially since there are different weather conditions around the country which could severely impact the quality of said live item. Just my opinion. The order was packaged well and there was some type of cotton on the tops of each pot to keep the soil in place in case of the package being thrown around during transit. Package was not damaged at all. When I opened my box, I had a little damage to some plants thought and I would guess it happened at the nursery and not during shipping. To me that tells me quality control is slacking. There was a hole and a couple slices in 2 of the leaves of my Lemon Lime Philodendron and some browning on the side of one leaf starting. Pic #1, 2 & 3. The spider plant didn't look good upon arrival and within a few days, it started dying off probably due to the soil being too wet. Spider plants don't like wet feet and unfortunately, the soil in this spider plant was really soaked. In an attempt to save it, I took everything out of the pot without disrupting the roots in order to allow everything to get air and dry up. Unfortunately, it continued to die off. Now I have 1 tiny little leaf that seems to be hanging on, however, I'm sure it will completely die off. Pics 4 & 5 are when I first received the plant. Pics 6, 7, 8 & 9 is within a week of having the plant. Pic 10 is what the plant looks like now. The Golden Pothos has a hole in one leaf and another leaf is dying off. See pics 11 & 12. The 3 remaining plants, (Croton & both Peperomia's)were infected with fungus gnat'. I treated them with Systemic Houseplant Insect Control to get rid of them. I did not need to water the plants when I treated them because the soil was wet enough. All I did was add the suggested amount on the top and evenly distribute into the soil. Most of the fungus gnats are gone. I did not treat the spider plant, Philodendron or Pothos because they had enough going on and I did not notice any fungus gnats on them. See pics 13 & 14 of 3 remaining plants. Whenever I bring new plants into my home, because of all the plants I have, I don't take chances so they go into quarantine for several weeks before I allow them to socialize with their other plant friends. They have been in quarantine since coming into my home so they have not been affected by other plants. I do not have fungus gnats or any other pests in my home. The 3 plants that were affected with fungus gnats had the gnats actually coming and going from the top as well as the holes in the bottom of the pot. Wish I had taken a video. The last 2 photo's show part of my plant collection. As you can see, I love my plants and I know how to take care of them. I wish this company allowed you to pick the plants rather than them picking for you. I received a few common plants that I already had. Crotons bring me no joy so I could have lived without that. I already had a Golden Pothos as well as spider plants so technically, I could have lived without them. I do like Philodendron's and since I didn't have a lemon lime already, I was happy to see it in my box. I hope I don't lose this plant since it has damage and may be infected with something. Have to wait and see. I have other Philodendron's in my collection and they are beautiful plants. I didn't have any Peperomia's so I was happy to see them included. Anything variegated and I swoon so the variegated Peperomia was a plus. I can't say I recommend this seller to others. I mean, the price was good but quality control was not. If I had 1 or 2 leaves with an issue or if it had the fungus gnats without other issues, I could recommend. The fact that I had many issues with my order and not just on one plant, I can't recommend to others because I wouldn't want others to experience the disappointment I did. I did read reviews and some were pretty bad. I really thought they were being hyper critical. Guess I was wrong. So I'm sorry but I would not order from this seller again unless they fix their quality control issue. ... show more

  • Nice plants
These are very nice varieties, two of the containers had two plants in them, so it was a good choice! They packaged very well and arrived in good condition. One plant was in questionable condition from, what appeared to be too much water, but seems to be doing better. Still a very good value!
