BUY THIS VACUUM! ATE POOP AND STILL WORKS PERFECTLY! Ok so I bought this vacuum in January because my old Roomba sucked and I wanted a robot vacuum that did not have a mop. I could already tell it was much better/quieter than my old Roomba. Then in April my dog pooped on the rug and since I had it on the automatic clean the robot of course ate the poop. Since I wasn't home my kids tried to clean it up but did not do a good job and there was pooped dried and caked on it when I came home. I literally washed/scrubbed this vacuum in the sink without even taking the battery out because I thought it was done for. I let it dry out for a few days and when it finally dried it worked fine. It is still going 2 months after the event, and I did not have to buy a new robot. It cleans great too! Definitely worth it.

This is a very good product for the price. I love watching it wandering around my living areas. It goes in a grid pattern. I had a lot of trouble getting started with it, as I live alone, and no one wanted to help me. But Shark phone support is exceptional and I managed to get it going. I wasn't interested in mapping my rooms because I know a few people who never use theirs because they put off the job of programming it. I just let it wander and its sensors turn it around if it bumps into something. It did a very good job on my carpeting. If it gets too stuck I just pick it up and re-position it. I love how, when I turn it off, it finds its way back to its home base. I don't care that I am not using its' "smartness". It cleans my carpets, and provides a wee bit of amusement.

I am so disappointed in this Shark product. I usually swear by Shark vacuums. Refuse to buy any other brand. I have several Shark vacuums. After a bad experience with the brand that ‘never loses suction’ animal vac, I decided I would always buy Shark. If they lose suction, the vac is engineered so well, there is an easy way to get to the jam and restore its suction power. When I decided to get a robotic vacuum about four years ago, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to spend the money to figure out if they were for me. So, I bought a less expensive brand from here on Amazon. Loved it. Still do. Even bought that brand’s mop only robot. Love it just as much. Since I knew I like robotic vacuums & mops, when we built our new home, I decided to splurge and go with my favorite brand and get their newest—the PowerDetect NeverTouch, Self-Emptying, Self Refill with Self-Cleaning Vac Mop Combo. Well, first off, the Shark Clean app sucks and is no help at all letting you know where the device is during a cleaning run, or what rooms it has completed. Heaven forbid, it need to go back to recharge (which takes up to three hours, btw), the app will not tell you what rooms have been completed. It only provides its report after the task is completed. Annoying. If I’m not at home when it runs, idk what rooms still need cleaning. Forget about vacuuming and mopping the whole house in one day. The battery life can’t take it. All that I could work around. But what I am so disappointed in is the mop. Now, it self cleans and dries the pad wonderfully. Love that feature. However, how hard it is to clean and dry a pad that rarely get wet. It may start wet, but it doesn’t stay completely wet. It’ll have a one or two inch area that’s wet. 2” out of 10”-12” swipe on your floor will get mopped. The rest just buffed. That is if the pad stays wet at all. Most of the time it’s just buffing the floors with a dry pad. I’ve tried product support on the Shark Clean website. Internet searches. I’ve tried checking for clogs, ran every troubleshooting suggestion I can find. It’s just not going to mop like it’s supposed too. I guess it’s too much to ask a company be good at everything they put their hand to.

I love love love my shark vacc mop . I have had my regular shark vacuum for about 6yrs , I had two, one for my kitchen living room open area. The other for my bedroom that is huge and a step down from the rest of house. So just bought me the vacc mop , I love it , always buy shark no need for other. Great investment. Noe I will give my vacc to my daughter and the other to my mother so I can get me another vacc mop for bedroom. Just maintain as asked and will last a very long time. Easy to setup, connected quickly to WiFi , the schedule is perfect , starts up everyday at 8am vacuuming and mopping my house in under 2hrs. I have 3 schnauzer, they don’t she’d much but they bring in dirt and grass from outside , the vacuum picks everything up. The functionality is great. 2 thumbs up……

I've been very skeptical on robot vacuums since they first game out but I've been very impressed with this one and it's clear the technology has massively improved since then. I've waited 2 months before writing this review. The robot itself, I give 5 stars but the app has several things that could be improved. First, the good. The robot seems to have plenty of suction for me with 3 settings (eco, normal, max) plus the Ultra Clean setting and spot cleaning. I have all hard surface floors with two rugs. I always use the max setting and my house is small enough that the robot can do my whole house in one charge. It does a good job navigating my house when going from room to room and very cleanly makes it's way back to the base when it's done or needing to empty the vacuum mid job. I was pleasantly surprised that it was able to get over the edging for my kitchen as it's likely a tad over the max height limit of 0.75 inches that robot is advertised to handle. Sometimes takes a couple tries but it's yet to get stuck or fail to get over it. It does bump into some furniture and molding but so far has yet to scuff anything but itself and only on it's backside where there aren't any sensors. The manual states you need a fairly large open area for the dock but mine has done just fine having only about a foot of open space on each side. Another great plus is how easily this whole unit is to clean. The self cleaning brush roll does stay tangle free for the most part but if you have longer hair, you will need to pull it out every now and then. Thankfully Shark made this super easy to do. I love the bagless base unit and the vacuum and base pop open without any tools for cleaning. However if you have a pet, I'd say the base handles 30-45 days before needing to be emptied. Regardless, it's so easy to do that I wouldn't mind emptying it after every full use cause it's that easy and simple. Now the bad. The app could use some improving. First, I found out the hard way and after days of frustration, that this robot has a character limit for wifi network names. I had a longer wifi network name which was preventing the robot from joining the network. I have several other smart home products and none of them had this flaw. Once I renamed my wifi network to something shorter, I was able to connect without further issue. Next, while I don't expect this thing to make perfect maps of my house on a single "exploration", there's no ability to improve the map. You either accept what it finds or have it start all over. The app should allow you to have the robot further explore a certain area you want it to make a more accurate map of. Next, the app won't tell you the progress of the cleaning job. The app doesn't tell you which rooms it's done cleaning, what progress for the whole job has been made, or progress within a specific room. Thankfully, these could all be remedied with updates so get to it Shark! Overall, I'd definitely recommend this robot for anyone looking for a robot vacuum.

I tried several and needed a Robo that would vacuum up onto a new oriental rug. I appreciate the mapping feature and the ability to set up room zones. Scheduling days and time is easy and the report that shows area cleaned is a plus. One oddity, the dust collector is located on the side that attaches to the charger. You pull it away from the charger to remove and clean it, then place it back on to charge. It cleans in rows, no bumping from side to side. It runs for 90 minutes and if it does not complete the house, goes to base, recharges and then returns to the area it missed. It does a great job and is not too loud. This was a good choice and great price.

My vac stopped working within the first 3 months, it would leave the dock turn in a circle and go back to the dock. I spent hours on the phone with customer service doing resets and reprogramming, and after several attempts they identified to send back for a replacement under warranty. First, I was sent a model which wasn’t what I had, then finally working with customer service they sent the right one. I had to pay shipping for all these returns. This vac has lasted about a year & 1/2. At first it was skipping rooms, which I was ok with as they are rooms that don’t have daily traffic, but as I ran my vac nightly in the family room where my 4 dogs primarily are during the day, I send to do one room, he gets lost going through several rooms before it finds the right room. During normal runs, the vac seems to get confused and will run in circles for about 10 minutes. The Lidar doesn’t seem to work at all, it hits every object in front of it, even when it is a couch or the TV stand that is tall enough to view. I never had a problem with the noise level, and with an almost 2000 sq.ft. Home the battery will last to get about half done then charge and finish. Suction is fair, it picks up great on the hard floor, although the edge function which is supposed to blow air to push dust/debris away from the wall to pick up is not as expected. I am cleaning up dog hair along baseboards continually. On low pile rugs it is decent, although I do have wads of hair to clean up every so often, and it doesn’t like to pick up fallen leaves from indoor plants (even small leaves). Deep pile rugs, don’t expect to get anything other than surface. I have had many Shark appliances, from upright vacs to the robo vac, and I was not impressed with this model. I will be getting a roborock to replace and hope it has better mapping skills, edge technology, and suction.
