  • Great for Pet Hair in Carpets
Style: DuoClean w/ Odor Neutralizer
Incredible vacuum for pet hair! It has great versatility between the different modes, but all those options may take time to learn if you're coming from a simple vacuum. Thankfully, the included manual is great and if you're not a reader, all the knobs and buttons are labelled and their placement makes sense, so you'll figure it out eventually. Our apartment is mostly carpet and we have 2 cats. My spouse recently got diagnosed with asthma, so we upgraded our vacuum to try to get more of the hair and dander. This vacuum is incredible at picking up everything! The carpet looks new after and the results in the dust bin are amazing. This is a fairly heavy vacuum, so if you have an extremely large home or limited mobility, you may find your arm gets tired. It does roll really smoothly and you have a lot of control with turns/curves. At first I thought the light in front of the swivel head was a gimmick, but I was surprised with how useful it is. I was able to see a hidden paperclip in the carpet before running it over. Emptying the bin is an easy lever that also closes and re-latches the bin's lid without having to touch the dusty parts. Hair doesn't get stuck in the bin like other vacuums, it just falls right out. I appreciate this vacuum and it's a great upgrade. I have heard Shark products are not the longest lasting, but we've been using this regularly for almost 6 months now with no issues. Still great performance and I'd really recommend this to carpeted households with furry friends. ... show more

  • Professional house cleaning and only vacuum I use!
Style: DuoClean w/ Odor Neutralizer
With ten years of cleaning professionally, the only vacuum cleaner I’ll use is the Shark. Over the years I’ve owned five of them and in my opinion they are the best on the market. I like them so much that I usually buy one every couple of years and give the one I use for work away to a family that needs a vacuum. The reason I buy a new one every few years is because I look forward to the newer models . Mine are used 7 days a week and the houses I’m in are 10,000 square feet. They are in constant use and the first one I gave away is ten years old and running like a top according to the family that is still using it. The number one complaint from reviews I’ve seen is the weight. Yes, it’s heavy, weighing 17 pounds. It’s self propelled and will run away if you don’t learn how to use it correctly. An elderly person who has problems with walking or lacking strength should not use this particular model. I’m elderly, 69, but I’m physically fit and lift it in my SUV twice daily 7 days a week. I vacuum staircases and every part of these houses. The suction is powerful . I’ve used the most expensive vacuums and they don’t come close to the Shark vacuums. This particular model is the quietest vacuum I’ve ever used. The most important thing I can say is to clean your vacuum regularly. The Shark is easy to take apart for cleaning. I break mine down once a week to clean every part of it, including the roller, wheels and electrical cord. Vacuum cleaners work hard and get nasty if they aren’t cleaned properly and regularly. So, if you’re looking for something that will last and work like new every day, year after year, then Shark is the best choice and the most reliable vacuum made. Hope this helps if you’re looking for a vacuum cleaner. ... show more

  • Works fantastic for a good price.
Style: DuoClean w/ Odor Neutralizer
If I could give 10 stars I would. Absolutely LOVE how well this vacuum works on dog hair. I have 6 dogs in my house and hair is obviously an issue. This vacuum fixed that issue. Lightweight. Long cord. Very easy to empty. Very strong suction to lift hair off of furniture and floors. Easy to use. Works great on hard floors. The only thing I would say is the hand held hose design is a little hard to maneuver sometimes. Otherwise would highly recommend. ... show more

  • Great upright. Disappointing lift-away vestiges.
Style: DuoClean w/ Odor Neutralizer
Shark Stratos AZ3002. Pros: Great cleaning. Picks up dirt from previously vacuumed carpets. If you plan to use this only as an "upright" without the lift-away feature it is a fine vacuum. Buy it. Cons: Maneuverability isn't bad, but is nowhere near my old Shark UV810 that it replaced. There are only vestiges of the "lift-away" feature that helped make Shark successful with vacuums. The powerhead is wider and heavier, as is the lift-away portion. The wider powerhead may look like an advantage but it is not. I was disappointed my old UV810 had such a small head until I used it and found how easily it maneuvered under and around things. It could also be "steered" easily by turning the wrist. It could even be used easily on stairs with the lift-away feature and with the power button on the removable portion. The on-off power switch has been moved from the lift-away portion where it fell right under the thumb while carrying it, to the handle. Fine for use as an upright, but now need a third hand to operate it as a lift-away or when using tools. The dust container on my Shark UV810 emptied cleanly and easily. It convinced me "bagless" vacuums can be OK. As others have said, the dust container on the AZ3002 is a disaster. Popping it open with the new lever approach sends dust everywhere. Closing it up again sends dust everywhere. I am exploring solutions but it may require taking it outside to empty into the trash. The cord on the AZ3002 is shorter than our old UV810. This is more annoying than you might expect. Features other than pros and cons: The brush roll does seem to be self-cleaning as advertised. It is no longer "brushes," but fins. The old brush was easy and economical to replace. The main roller on the AZ3002 is no longer replaceable. We'll see if it holds up. The brightness of the lights on the AZ3002 disappoint compared to our old UV810, but are fine. They still don't work with the wand and tools. Several reviewers found the cord stiff. I wouldn't have noticed. Yes, as others have noted, tools will not stay on the storage pegs. Plan to carry them around with you. In summary, the AZ3002 excels at cleaning rugs and floors. I miss the convenient lift-away features on our old UV810. I always used it with the lift-away separated, which is now impractical. ... show more

  • Amazing!!! Amazing!!!
Style: DuoClean w/ Odor Neutralizer
Wow I love it! I have been a die hard Bissel fan for my entire adult life and the last one I got was the super fancy rose gold hepa pet vacuum cleaner less than a year ago btw! I used the bissell less than 24hrs ago and this was just one pass of just my bedroom!!! The carpet even feels softer like it fluffed it up! Holy cow the suction is great and no hair tangles!!! Insane dust pickup as you can see! This vacuum is quite a few inches taller than my other vacuum! Super easy to use! Definitely worth the money! ... show more

  • Best Vacuum Ever...
Style: DuoClean w/ Odor Neutralizer
I can honestly say that this is the best vacuum cleaner that we've ever purchased. Just to try it out, we initially vacuumed the living room to test the different options and settings. The first thing that we noticed was that on the "Thick Carpet" setting, it was very easy to push on our thick carpet. Well... we couldn't believe the amount of dust, lint, dirt, and other "stuff" that was in the collection bin just from our living room area, so the suction was fantastic. We also didn't feel the noise level to be any different from any other vacuum. The size is easy to manage, and being able to take the collection bin off allows you to take the wand/lower assembly under things that you probably never thought of doing. The Stratos also maneuvers very well! What about rollers underneath? We were amazed that with all of the long haired ladies in our home that there wasn't a single strand of hair around either one of the rollers! Wow! We believe the Stratos is a great buy, and great value for anyone seeking a machine that can do anything you want it to do within reason... ... show more

  • Good, but not great
Style: DuoClean w/ Odor Neutralizer
I needed to replace my old Shark Vacuum because it no longer worked, I really liked it. Unfortunatly, they don't make the version anymore. I switched over to a shark after my second Dyson Animal crapped out. Dyson was great on carpet, but not on hard flooring and it's expensive. The old Shark I had really did well on hard flooring and carpet, had good suction, and the light on the front was amazing to be able to see pet hair and dirt on the hard surfaces, especially tile flooring. After doing quite a bit of research on different makes and models, I found that the Shark Stratos was the best comparable to the Shark I had with additional upgrades. The Pros: there are definitely some new features which I do like. The suction is really good, better than the other model. On the hard surfaces, the rollers are much smoother than the last one and I don't get apprehensive about it scratching the hard wood floors. I love that the roller inside actually has a slow roll while suctioning on the hard, flat surfaces, not like the old one which sometimes kicked the dirt out the back end of the vacuum. The cannister is larger and holds more dirt, hair. The front of the vacuum is angled more to get under smaller surfaces, like the front of the stove area and the profile is a little lower to get under the couches. The air filter is bigger, though, the directions say to rinse it regularly. The attachments, I don't typically use - but they seem the same as the old one. The reach on the hose seems a little bit longer for my high ceilings, corners of the room. There is also a softer end on the nozzle, so I don't feel like I'm scuffing up the walls when I just use the main nozzle without attachments. The vacuum maneuvers better too. Cons: The light on the front of the vacuum is not as good as my old Shark vacuum. It shows the dirt and hair on dark surfaces, but it doesn't do that well on the lighter tile in my home. I have a short hair dog, which sheds ALOT, so having the light is a must to see the white fur on the light tile. The light is still helpful, just not as good. The other thing I don't like is the cord. It's not long enough. I could have sworn it said 30-ft cord, but it's only 25 ft. My home is 3,700sq ft, so the longer cord was one of the reasons I bought this version. Also, the cord material is not good and a bit weak. There is a warning or advisory on the instructions to take care not to run over the cord while vacuuming, which is a little hard to do when you have to vacuum such large space. TAKE heed, don't run over the cord. I did, and the roller basically went through the outer plastic sheathing. I ended up having to repair with electrical tape after just the first use. I now am super cautious about not running it over. The old Shark's cording wasn't great either, but it was better and more durable than the Stratos. The other kind of negative was that it's a little clunkier to put the canister back on the main vacuum handle during vacuuming, but it's not more of an annoyance than a capability. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase, but I do wish they kept the old light and had a more durable and longer cord on the vacuum. Those are the reasons I'm giving a 4 instead of a 5 Star rating. ... show more
