  • Amazing Functionality, Ugly as Heck
Style: DuoClean PowerFins
I'll start by saying this is an incredible vacuum. We have dogs (two doodles) and thick carpet as well as laminate flooring with area rugs. Before this, we had a cheaper Hoover (under 150$). I felt it was not doing a sufficient job so I started reading up on higher end vacs. I landed on this one after seeing reviews showing this vacuum beating out Dysons and anything else put up against it. They said it was excellent for both carpet and hardwood, and was the best at picking up hair without the beater getting tangled. These were all true, so here are my pros and cons: Pros: -Great suction. The pic shows the reservoir being full...this was from JUST a 12x12 thick carpeted room, 5 MINUTES after vacuuming the same room with my Hoover. -I do not have any issues on our very thick carpet with the vacuum sucking too hard and making it tough to push. I saw some reviews that state that...they likely pushed the button and have the beater turned off so it wont pull itself, or they have it set to the wrong flooring type. This is the main reason I chose this over a Dyson, I have seen far more reviews on Dyson's being very tough to push. -LOVE the maneuverability. You can pop the whole canister off and carry it, or just the top and use the hose attached to the vac. Also very easy to turn and go under tables and stuff. -No fanning. What I mean is that with every other vacuum Ive used, if you were on a hard surface, the beater put out so much air that it just blows all the dust and debris out of the way so you never suck it up. This works awesome on hardwood when you put it in that mode, and only one beater spins to pick up debris. Cons: -This thing is ugly as hell. The engineer that designed the functionality features is a genius. I believe after they designed it, they let a 90 year old lady choose the color scheme. Seriously, why would you have a grey vac, with rose gold touches and a blue roller? If I had shopped in store I wouldn't have even considered a vacuum at this price point with those colors solely based on looks. Dyson's are so much more appealing if you're simply going off looks. -Reservoir size. The reservoir is fricken tiny. If you have a large house or more than one dog, you will either need to vacuum every week or empty the canister a couple times during use. Only the front and top portions of the canister are actually to collect debris, most of it is taken up by the motor. -The cord. Yeah, its super long which is great. But why are we still making cords the EXACT length to where you have to wind it up super loose to attach the plug to another cord. Make it 2" shorter or longer, so annoying. -Wheels. The back wheels are stupid. Theyre tiny plastic wheels that wannabe a dyson ball but aren't. If rolls around like a ball, but when turning one of the wheels lifts off the floor and its like youre kind of lifting the vacuum. I believe their goal was to mimic a Dyson ball without infringing on patents, but it's a cheesy way to do so. As you can see, my cons are slightly petty but still sort of annoying. Luckily, a vacuum isn't particularly for pleasing the eye. Overall this is awesome vacuum in terms of functionality, and I would highly recommend to any friends or family to snag one of these if they can afford it. ... show more

  • Super suction and provides for multi purpose cleaning.
Style: Odor Neutralizer + DuoClean PowerFins Ha...
I hope this is allowed but I will be comparing to my Dyson Animal I've had for about six years. I'm a golden retriever owner so dog hair is a problem in my house and that's why I bought the Dyson a few years ago. I thought my Dyson was incredible until I received my Shark Stratus upright. The suction is incredible in comparison and that really wasn't why I upgraded. My problem with the Dyson was the hand held hose attachment was horrible. Not only did it have very little suction, the hose didn't stretch or bend so I just never used it. But wow was I amazed at what all you can do with this Shark. 1. The hose disconnects at two different locations so you can decide if you need longer or shorter hose. 2. The vacuum has two holders for attachments so you always have those choices no matter where you are in the house. 3. The whole front of the vacuum disconnects giving you the option of having a handheld so that you can reach higher or lower or in corners, nooks and crannies. 4. Since the front disconnects, you can get up under chairs and furniture with the main vacuum since it becomes way less bulky. I would also like to mention a few other pro's when comparing: The suction is amazing with the hose unlike the problem I had with the Dyson. This vacuum is amazing at sucking up dirt and debris from the edges and corners of your floor. My Dyson just left the trash. It picks up larger pieces like whole leaves or plastic wrapping and my Dyson just pushed it around. I would have to pick up stuff before vacuuming and I no longer have to do that. I love the air freshener option. It smells so good after vacuuming. I love that it's HEPA filtered. I live in an old house and lead paint dust is always a concern. I've used mine several times and have not had any hair wrap and I do have mid length hair that along with my dogs hair was constantly wrapping around the bar on the Dyson. There are just a couple of complaints in comparison and one is that it is a bit heavy and not that easy to manipulate. My Dyson had the technology where it moved with the ball. I think it was much easier to push and turn. Also, the chord on the Shark is much shorter than the Dyson's. Even with these few cons I wouldn't trade it back for anything. I have really enjoyed getting dirt from places I wasn't previously able to. Including my mattress! Yuck! ... show more

  • Super-powerful vacuum cleaner - Shark Stratos AZ3002
Style: Odor Neutralizer + DuoClean PowerFins Ha...
I recently purchased the Shark Stratos AZ3002 upright vacuum cleaner and it is unquestionably, my new favorite toy (tool)! This vacuum cleaner has the strongest and most powerful suction of any vacuum cleaner I have ever used. I put my new Shark Stratos to test on hardwood floors, thick carpets, heavily trafficked stairs and tile floors. The suction capability cleaned up dirt, hair, sparkles, cookie crumbs, tiny pieces of shredded paper, thick fiber carpeting, and, any and everything else that landed on my floors and got in its way. This vacuum cleaner is thorough and impressive in its cleaning capability. It is fairly lightweight (16.7 lbs.), maneuvers effortlessly and has incredible suction power. The Shark Stratos AZ3002 is well designed with helpful features such as: easy swivel motion to get under tables and hard to reach areas, HEPA filter and odor neutralizing technology, a light at floor level on the vacuum cleaner that makes it easier to see and (get this!) the light flashes red if there is something that needs to be attended to on the vacuum cleaner. The Shark engineers outdid themselves in designing this vacuum cleaner! The only downside to the Shark Stratos AZ3002 is that it is loud due to its extra capacity motor, however, you will not have to go over an area twice since it is so powerful and thorough - so vacuuming should take less time. This is an exceptional vacuum and I strongly recommend it! ... show more
