  • Almost too many pets? This is the vacuum for you.
Style: DuoClean w/ Odor Neutralizer
If you have 8 pets like we do, this is the vacuum for you. We have 3 dogs, 2 cats, and 3 guinea pigs. Forget about the oink oinks for a sec. The dogs alone shed enough to power an industrial pillow factory that makes pillows filled with dog hair. We have a golden, a shepherd, and a jack russell. The cats are shorthairs but they also add to the hair chaos. The pigs. The hay they eat goes everywhere and... they throw their poop. They don't tell you that they throw their poop btw when you buy these things at the store. My point is that this is the only vacuum so far that has been able to keep up with vacuuming both floors of the house. Is it heavy? Yeah it is heavy as heck. I'm not a scrawny dude and honestly it's not like the easiest thing to wield. Is it big? Yeah, I mean it ain't small y'all. It works on every floor. Carpet: theres nothing like this thing for picking up hair off of carpet. What surprised me the most was how dirty my hardwood floors were that i thought the dyson was handling fine. It's very easy to put together out of the box. Also, when it clogs up, there are only so many places you need to check. My one pet peeve is that the dust container design is subpar. There's a lot of room for stuff to get stuffed up. It usually makes a mess of dust around where you dump it out. That's why i empty it in the big shop trashcan in the garage. Heck sometimes you might even need to vacuum around where you just emptied the vacuum, hah! Anyway this thing sucks real good is what I'm saying. I think the price point is perfect is for how well this works. Hope that helps. ... show more

  • Golden Retriever shedding? No problem!
Style: DuoClean w/ Odor Neutralizer
After years of trying to clean the dog hair out of two different Dyson Animal vacuums, I purchased the Shark Stratos in hopes of finding something better. I was not disappointed. The suction on this unit is strong enough to lift dirt and dog hair out of the carpet with only one pass of the powered head, and the self-cleaning roller actually works as advertised. The soft roller is easy to remove and clean. Since it is brushless, it does not trap the hair that would wrap around and clog a traditional brush roller. I was able to remove the few hairs that did get trapped very quickly (as opposed to the hours spent cutting the hair out of the Dyson). If you have a big dog that sheds, buy this vacuum. ... show more

  • Shark Stratos: The Vacuum of My Dreams!
Style: DuoClean w/ Odor Neutralizer
Oh my goodness! This vacuum is amazing!! This guy picks up everything I couldn't even see and that my Bissell Power Force Helix Turbo couldn't get! I already vacuumed with it then used this Shark Stratos. The bin was full and I only vacuumed my walk in closet!! What the heck?! I routinely clean my old vacuum but this one is insanely good! My carpet FEELS clean! Huge difference! It's pretty easy to put together and use. All the buttons/levers to change how you use it are very well labeled and pretty obvious to use. It's fairly heavy HOWEVER it's really not an issue. The wheels are so incredibly smooth and on high pile setting it glides along for you. Pushing or pulling is super easy! If you don't want to pick up the entire vacuum, you have many options to configure it if you want to vacuum corners or stairs to lighten the vacuum. You can assemble it so you only have the pole to vacuum under beds or dressers. I have the AZ3002 model for reference. It's a corded upright so no need to worry about battery life. You have 3 floor settings: thick carpet/area rug cleaning, carpet/low pile carpet cleaning, and hard floor cleaning. I tried it on each different surface in my home and it's great! Suction is out of this world!! I love that it has a white light especially on hardwood to see the difference. The light also changes colors if there's an issue that needs to be addressed. No issues have been had though. It comes with an odor cartridge that makes the floor smell awesome too! You can dial it way up for max freshness or turn it off completely if smells bother you. My dog's area near his cage where he usually hangs out seems clean as I vacuum it nearly everyday. Nope! This vacuum picked up his hair I couldn't even see, the carpet visibly is lighter in color now!! It comes with 3 attachments: crevice tool, upholstery tool and the pet multi tool. There are plenty more attachments to get which I certainly will be doing! I'm floored! If you can afford this, do it! Do the payment plans, something! It's so worth it! ... show more

  • Very Disappointed – Great Suction, but a Serious Design Flaw
Style: DuoClean w/ Odor Neutralizer
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel other buyers should know about my experience. I purchased this Shark vacuum because I believed I was investing in a durable, high-quality machine from a trusted brand. I vacuum almost every day because I have a busy household with several people, so I specifically chose a large, powerful vacuum that I expected would easily last for years. Unfortunately, after less than two months of normal daily use, the wheels started bending. As they became more and more warped, the vacuum became extremely difficult to push. Today, the suction still works perfectly, but the vacuum is practically unusable because the wheel assembly has failed. To me, this appears to be a design flaw. The vacuum itself is large, heavy, and well-built, but the small plastic wheels simply aren't strong enough to support its weight during regular use. A premium vacuum should not become unusable because of weak wheels after only a couple of months. I contacted customer service through Amazon and asked for a replacement of only the lower wheel assembly, since the rest of the vacuum is still in excellent condition. I was told the issue would be resolved and that I should expect to wait one to two months for the replacement. That was five months ago. Since then, I've received nothing. During this time, I had to go back to using my old vacuum, which had already served me faithfully for over five years. Unfortunately, after carrying the workload again, that vacuum has now stopped working as well. The most frustrating part is that this problem could have been solved by replacing one defective part. Instead, I've been left with an expensive vacuum that sits unused because of what seems to be a preventable engineering issue. I truly expected much better from Shark. If this model had stronger wheels, I would probably love it because the cleaning performance is excellent. However, durability and customer support matter just as much as suction power. I hope Shark improves this design and stands behind its products by providing replacement parts in a timely manner. Until then, I cannot recommend this model to anyone who plans to use it regularly. ... show more

  • Good, but not great
Style: DuoClean w/ Odor Neutralizer
I needed to replace my old Shark Vacuum because it no longer worked, I really liked it. Unfortunatly, they don't make the version anymore. I switched over to a shark after my second Dyson Animal crapped out. Dyson was great on carpet, but not on hard flooring and it's expensive. The old Shark I had really did well on hard flooring and carpet, had good suction, and the light on the front was amazing to be able to see pet hair and dirt on the hard surfaces, especially tile flooring. After doing quite a bit of research on different makes and models, I found that the Shark Stratos was the best comparable to the Shark I had with additional upgrades. The Pros: there are definitely some new features which I do like. The suction is really good, better than the other model. On the hard surfaces, the rollers are much smoother than the last one and I don't get apprehensive about it scratching the hard wood floors. I love that the roller inside actually has a slow roll while suctioning on the hard, flat surfaces, not like the old one which sometimes kicked the dirt out the back end of the vacuum. The cannister is larger and holds more dirt, hair. The front of the vacuum is angled more to get under smaller surfaces, like the front of the stove area and the profile is a little lower to get under the couches. The air filter is bigger, though, the directions say to rinse it regularly. The attachments, I don't typically use - but they seem the same as the old one. The reach on the hose seems a little bit longer for my high ceilings, corners of the room. There is also a softer end on the nozzle, so I don't feel like I'm scuffing up the walls when I just use the main nozzle without attachments. The vacuum maneuvers better too. Cons: The light on the front of the vacuum is not as good as my old Shark vacuum. It shows the dirt and hair on dark surfaces, but it doesn't do that well on the lighter tile in my home. I have a short hair dog, which sheds ALOT, so having the light is a must to see the white fur on the light tile. The light is still helpful, just not as good. The other thing I don't like is the cord. It's not long enough. I could have sworn it said 30-ft cord, but it's only 25 ft. My home is 3,700sq ft, so the longer cord was one of the reasons I bought this version. Also, the cord material is not good and a bit weak. There is a warning or advisory on the instructions to take care not to run over the cord while vacuuming, which is a little hard to do when you have to vacuum such large space. TAKE heed, don't run over the cord. I did, and the roller basically went through the outer plastic sheathing. I ended up having to repair with electrical tape after just the first use. I now am super cautious about not running it over. The old Shark's cording wasn't great either, but it was better and more durable than the Stratos. The other kind of negative was that it's a little clunkier to put the canister back on the main vacuum handle during vacuuming, but it's not more of an annoyance than a capability. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase, but I do wish they kept the old light and had a more durable and longer cord on the vacuum. Those are the reasons I'm giving a 4 instead of a 5 Star rating. ... show more

  • Superb Vacuum!
Style: DuoClean w/ Odor Neutralizer
This is a top-notch vacuum. We have two cats and some fuzzy carpet.. we had a five or six-year-old shark vacuum, and I wanted to up our dust collection to the next level. This definitely does the job.! powerful suction, adjustable for three levels on Floors, don’t worry about the weight, it was only a couple of pounds heavier than my previous shark, and it also has a self propel feature . (I’m not quite sure how that works yet. I think you have to lean the handle back a little bit more.) Not only doesn’t pick the dirt up really well. The filtration system is 300% better than previous shark vacuums. . There are two or three levels of foam filters in here.! Again, don’t worry about the weight. You don’t want a good vacuum cleaner to be light because it simply isn’t possible to have a powerful motor and make the vacuum light. A strong motor is gonna have some weight to it and that’s when you know you’ve got some quality in your hands. Excellent purchase for the money was questioning myself even though our other vacuum worked good but it turns out our other 5 yr old vacuum was a 6.5 on a scale of one to 10 and this is a 10 on a scale of 10 to 10!!! BUY IT!! ... show more

  • Game Changer
Style: DuoClean w/ Odor Neutralizer
I was tempted to save my review on this until I've had this vacuum a bit longer but figured, I now know all I need to know. This vacuum is it! It does what I always imagined a vacuum should do. As in, it cleans up everything I run over without the need to go back and forth 4 times and then bend over to pick it up myself. I have a cat that is a heavy shedder. As if she wasn't hairy enough, I added a great Pyrenees mix to our household. Between the two of them, I am a daily vacuumer. I use either my shark rocket stick or my Roomba (in the rare instance my kids left the floor clear enough to use). I've been watching over the past few months as the hair just kept piling up. I was not getting anything clean, I was just keeping the rolling hair tumbleweeds at bay. The Shark Stratos gave me a whole new level of clean. Not a hair left to be found. I have mostly hardwood but have rugs in each room. This vacuum transfers surfaces easily with the switch right at thumbs reach. The suction on this thing is not joke. Several of my area rugs can only be cleaned in the hardwood setting. The carpet and area rug settings are too strong. On those rugs, the hardwood setting still does the job. The rug in the pic above had been first vacuumed same day by my Shark Rocket (8 yrs old and most likely in it's last leg). I was over this rug and thought it couldn't be saved. I was no longer able to get the imbedded hair out. I was simply vacuuming the top layer. It was gross. Then I vacuumed ONE time with the Stratos. Jaw dropped. I could list the pros for ever but instead, I'll just say, this vacuum is worth every penny and then some. I will without a doubt purchase again. Instead, I'll cover the few cons I have found. This vacuum is a beast! It's heavy. I say this with the caveat that I am coming from a smaller, lightweight stick vacuum. The up, the stratos does such a good job, I don't need to use it daily. This will be my every other/every third day deep vacuum. Next, the hose is not ergonomic when you have it detached to use the attachments and for vacuuming the ceiling, etc. I would prefer to hold the hose itself instead of the handle. I think the air filter in it could be a bit better. I have sensitive air purifiers in my upstairs and downstairs. They will sometimes start cleaning the air when I vacuum. I don't say this to deter anyone. I think that the stratos will solve this problem after using it consistently. There will be much less dust and dander to kick up in the near future. Is there such a thing as too strong? I'm used to vacuuming around all the Legos, nerf bullets, etc. With this, only roll over what you intend to remove from the floor. Personally, I don't see this as a complaint but I've seen people say the craziest things in their reviews. Thought I should cover that. ... show more

  • Wonderful replacement for my old Shark vacuum
Style: DuoClean w/ Odor Neutralizer
After several years of using a Shark vacuum, it was a dark day when it died on me. I did everything to fix what I thought was a blockage, but when it shut off by itself and when I would try to get it to vacuum, all it did was a sad dull moan. I wanted another one to replace it, but sadly it no longer was made, per the Shark Website. But I found this one that was just about the same. The suction is fantastic. and since it is a more modern version, it has some new features such as a self-cleaning roller brush and a setting for low pile carpet. It also has a "soft roller" infront of the actual roller brush that I guess picks up the dirt in a low pile carpet. It costs about the same as the other one. It also can do hard floors as well so it can be used on LVP or tile as well. I dreaded getting rid of my old one, but this one fit perfectly as a good replacement ... show more
