So far I have used this vacuum twice and It's a pretty strong stick vacuum. It works really well on carpet and hard floors. I like that it is so versatile. You can use the tools with the stick extension or attach the tools directly to the vacuum for closer jobs. It definitely has a great suction which I love about Shark vacuums. Shark has been one of my favorite brands of vacuum tools. I have used the navigator, i have a cordless hand vacuum that I use to clean my truck that works great and I had a Shark robot vacuum at one point as well. Shark vacuums have just been great machines all around. I will say the reviews about not being able to stand the vacuum up is only somewhat accurate. If the dust bin and motor are attached as you normally would to vacuum your floors then the weight of it will cause it to fall over. The roller brush part isn't wide enough or heavy enough to hold it up. However, there is a little hook down by the roller on the front of the extension tube that is meant to hold the motor and dust cup. If you remove the motor and place it on the storage hook it will stand up perfectly and become a little more compact. It distributes the weight and BOOM it stands without issues. Love the light on it too. It lit up dust and dirt I couldn't normally see. I can use it under my bed which I like because my pups like to lay under it with the toy graveyard. It's a nice machine for a 856 sq ft 1 bedroom apartment. I mostly have hard floors but it works great everywhere. Pretty decent price too for $125. The upholstery tool and brush tool are combined. To use the brush they must be together but to use the upholstery tool you push the release button and the brush will pop off to reveal the upholstery tool. Pretty nifty stuff. As other reviewers mentioned there isn't a place to store the tools but to me that is a minor inconvenience. ... show more

Incredible buy! I am so impressed by its lightweight feel but strong suction and ease of use. I have a 1700sqft home with dog and cats. I have hardwood and carpet and this tackled both with ease. I need a strong vacuum with long run time. I always loved the stick vacuum look and ease to get under couches and beds but the battery factory was a big deterrent. This corded vacuum allows me to vacuum as long as I need to. Stores so perfectly, just keep a bag handy for its attachments. Pick ups all the dirt and hair with ease. This is my second Shark Rocket I have Purched, to replace my old one, which I had for years! This is the best Vacuum, as it does have the self cleaning beater bar on it, where one doesn't have to worry about hair, string getting tangle in the bar! NO cleaning it. Has lights on the bottom of the vacuum, also when using just he top! The suction on this is really powerful. On carpet and switch to a lower speed for floors. Doesn't scratch any type of floor and runs smoothly! Has two filters in it that I wash a couple of times them replace with new ones. Has a nice long cord on it. Doesn't come with a bracket to hang, I have one from my older vacuum which is nice. You can purchase this and filters for a small price! I won't buy a Shark unless it has the self cleaning bar. Well, my search for a good option for a daily & convenient vacuum to help w cleaning my floors & very few carpets is no closer to being resolved after purchasing this vacuum I’ve been using this Shark a little over 3 mos now & it is a consternation to me (I have a heavy duty old Miele upright vacuum which I still adore & pull out to deeper clean my carpets & upholstery I had such high hopes that making the switch from a cordless option to a corded one would make a huge difference in the suction power & efficiency aspects of my chores And that I would LOVE it To be fair, there is improvement in the suction yet this is a clunky, top heavy short corded vacuum which falls over if you try to lean it up against anything The added length of time required to unwind the electrical cord, move the cord to various outlets to reach the desired area, rewind the cord once finished & then place the vacuum in a very specific area where it won’t later fall down are all add’l aggravations associated with this vacuum Aaarrrggghhhh In all fairness, I must admit the stronger suction is a plus Unfortunately, the negatives do out weigh the positives in my opinion I have purchased another option today (Gtech Air Ram 3) during Black Friday It is a cordless vacuum but the motor & collection bin are all built into the actual floor head portion Fingers crossed it will be a better option ... show more
