  • Amazing vacuum. Beats out my older Bissell 2999.
Style: Navigator (Navy)
I actually was in the market for a new vacuum as there were parts breaking on my Bissell 2999. (Dust buildup inside the motor housing leading to bearing whine, brush roller wear that required modification to prevent additional damage, as well as handle damage that prevented the vacuum handle from staying locked in place and later being unable to be removed as it got jammed slightly at an angle.) Moving on, this is actually a step up, despite having got it at a substantially lower price (99 dollars verse the original Bissell 2999 price being around 200 dollars.) I wanted something that people praised for higher reliability, and this advertised a limited 5 year warranty. I got it, because 99 for a well reviewed vacuum was excellent in idea. I then looked at reviews all over the internet only to find out more and more that the Shark NV360 was way better than expected. My only caveats to date are that it has a smaller agitator head, and that it doesn't come with a agitator attachment, you'd need to get the Pro version NV356E to get the agitator attachment. It does come with a smaller crevasse tool and a very functional upholstery tool that also worked very very well on the stairs. Suction on this vacuum is amazing. Especially compared to my Bissell 2999. I have Hoover and Bissell Vacuums, and the 2999 was better than my previous vacuums, but oddly not better than this current one from Shark, the NV360 just to keep things clear. The hose diameter is larger, and that typically means less pressure for most vacuums, however, that is not the case here. You really need to be careful when using the attachments as it will suck up a sock you may have got too close too and it'll all be too fast to recover from anywhere other than the dust bin. Emptying the dustbin is more involved than my Bissell and Hoover vacuums, where a single button press allows you to pull the bin from its' resting place. In the case of the Shark, you will need to undo two latches that secure the bin in place, but while I thought this would be a bigger problem it has not been. Installing the bin has been a bigger issue than removing it but the process is still really simple. The dual latch does offer the better seal though as it allows for more uniform pressure on the seal under neath and keeps the dust flowing down. It does seem that the foam prefilter would need more cleans than my Bissell 2999 required, but I found that dust released from the Bissell system would agitate my nose a touch, because allergies, while I have had zero incidents of that with the shark. (The Bissell 2999 was still the best I had before I got this NV360 for allergies I experienced, I just thought it was because it was kicking something up but dust patterns formed later in its' life showing it was some dust leakage.) Moving this around is easier than the Bissell 2999 as well, but that is partially because the base is smaller. Both were swivel style vacuums but the NV360 does better on tighter turns than the Bissell. The smaller head seems to also focus more of the dust into the dust bin. Going over areas the Bissell seamed done with, I found that there was still a ton of dirt and dust embedded into the carpet even after 8 passes with the Bissell. I only knew there was more because even though I wasn't getting anything more on the 8th pass with the Bissell, going over the same area with the NV360 showed there was still a lot of dust left in the carpet. The Bissell did get all the dog hair though and there was only dust and dirt that the shark was able to extract. (This also lead me to do a carpet clean though, as I have a Bissel carpet cleaner that I really like and I finished the job with that.) My lesson learned though is that even with a great vacuum like the Shark or my previous best Bissell, you may have to vacuum more often than every 3-4 days as that dirt just keeps getting deeper if you dont. Moving on, I am actually very impressed and absolutely can recommend this vacuum to anyone who needs something better. I absolutely can recommend it to anyone who has allergies like me as well. Best vacuum to date. Side note though, when researching vacuums, I did find that the Shark Stratos and Rotator options are more amazing when it comes to airflow and pressure as well as large objects and long hair, but they are between 200 and 300 dollars. For me this is the best option for now, especially seeing it was only 99 dollars when I got it. ... show more

  • Best Vacuum Ever!
Style: Navigator (Navy)
I am THOROUGHLY impressed with this vacuum. I had a shark vacuum, got it as a gidt from work over 10 years ago. When I let someone use it and they ruined it, I found myself in need of a new vacuum. I tried another well known brand and I was disappointed because it didn't have all the features of the shark vacuum I loved so much. So I purchased this one and I'm so glad I did. I love that it has an Upholstery and corner attachment to get tight spaces. If I have a short reach, I can just detach the hose. If I have a longer, higher reach, I can use the wand. And if I need an even further reach or if I had stairs, I can detach the tank and be even more mobile. Super easy to clean from the tank to the filter which means it will last long. I love that it swivels which makes it easier to get tight spaces and maneuver. But what I love the most is the POWER! I sometimes will leave phone chords out because of it accidentally gets caught in the vacuum, it's easy to pull out. This vacuum has such strong suction power, I didn't want to risk it! Lol. I literally vacuumed a week ago and this thing picked up so much dirt that I about went through the whole house again. You can feel how powerful it is as soon as you start to sweep. It gives a really deep clean, it's easy to hold, easy to assemble, and picks up in no time. This is the kind of clean I was looking for. I'm going Shark for everything from now on. ... show more

  • Good for the price but not a great vacuum
Style: Navigator (Navy)
I bought this thing during a black friday/cyber monday sale for a very reasonable price. And for what I paid, I feel like I got good value. But this is not a good vacuum. I've owned a couple of Miele vacuums in the past, any they are superior to this in every way. Better suction, better quality, better tools, better ergonomics, etc. Miele vacuums go for 3-5x the msrp of this thing. The biggest positive about this vacuum is that the suction is good. You can get reasonably good results on both carpet and hardwood so long as you keep up on maintenance. Empty the dust bin, replace the filters, clean the hair off the beater brush, etc. And that's saying a lot for this price. However, if you can afford better, or you are in a situation where you plan on using this vacuum long-term, I would buy something else. As far as complaints, there are a lot. First of all, the head feels a lot smaller than other vacuums. Those extra inches add up to more passes. On a chore you repeat day after day it adds up. Second, the attachments feel cheap and keep falling off during normal use. They work, but storage could have been handled better. Third, since this is a cheaper vacuum there isn't anything in place to mitigate hair buildup on the beater brush. If you have pets or people with long hair in your house, you will have to clean the brush regularly. Fourth, the ergonomics are bad. They made the great decision to have the top handle detach from the vacuum body so that it works like a canister vacuum. But the hose is so short that you can only reach things maybe a foot away from the vacuum base. Good luck cleaning window sills and blinds with that. And fifth, I doubt this vacuum will last 5 years. It just feels cheap, and from what i've read online this brand is notorious for making their products non-servicable. In short, it is a very good vacuum for the price, especially on sale, but I think most people would be better off getting something of higher quality. If you move a lot, you just need something for the next 6 months, or your budget is tight, this could be a good choice. For everyone else I would shop around some more. ... show more

  • Shark Navigator- BUY IT
Style: Navigator (Navy)
I need to start this off by saying I paid full price for my vacuum. This is not a paid review. This is my complete unbiased opinion on some thing I paid full price for. I was trying to choose between this vacuum and the Bissell pet pro, I believe. I had googled the top 10 best vacuums, this one was number one and the Bissell was number two. When I asked, my friend, they said to go with the Bissell, because that’s the brand that they knew. The Bissell was also around $100 less than the shark. Regardless, I had other intentions. My shark arrived within two days. No damages to the package. It was double boxed. Opening the box, assembly was very simple to understand and easy enough anyone could handle it. I had no problem putting this vacuum together in less than five minutes. All the pieces were there. It literally just snapped together. Did I read the instructions on the manual on? What does what? Absolutely not. When I first started the vacuum, I was unknowingly using it on the bare floor setting on carpet. It still picked up everything. I was a little shocked about how quiet it was, and how heavy it felt trying to move it. I realized that the brushes weren’t turned on, and I have to click the button all the way down… 😅 Keep in mind, I swept my carpet with a broom first. I swept up into a dust pan the bigger pieces like cat food and treats. I have three cats, by the way. The vacuum is significantly lighter when you have the brushes activated(obviously). I did one pass on the living room floor and shockingly to my surprise I filled up the entire container. The hair was separated from the dust. And there’s a light on the right side of the base of the vacuum that will turn from green to red if you have an obstruction. For me, the light did not turn red. I just wanted to make that known just in case somebody else chooses to not read the instructions as I did. When I tell you, I’ve never had a vacuum pick up every piece of debris hair cat food whatever you name it this vacuum picked it up in one pass. No exaggeration. Things I was concerned about: 1. The body of the vacuum is very bulky and wide. My concern with this was that I wouldn’t be able to reach close spots into corners and under furniture. The base of the vacuum swivels from the body, so this was not a problem at all. 2. Also, regarding the body, it is very front, heavy and not rear heavy. so it is awkwardly unbalanced and can tip over if you bump in to it. that’s really the only complaint that I have about it and it’s not enough that I would take a star away from this review because of the quality of the vacuum, the functions in the gadgets, and all the bells and whistles. This vacuum has it all and I love it. 3. My only other concern was that hair could get trapped in the brush and caused me issues with trying to finish, vacuuming my floor in sitting. This was also not an issue. This vacuum works like a dream and never in my life. Would I ever think that I would be so excited and giddy over a machine that I use to do chores. One improvement that COULD be made, but isn’t a game changer; make the cord retract with a button instead of having to wrap it up by hand. Is that lazy of me to say? LOL YES. I don’t care 🤣 that’s the only thing my bissel did that this Shark does not do. So all in all, I truly give this vacuum five stars. I show this vacuum off to my friends. I let my friends take it for a test drive. I am obsessed with it. It has changed the way I feel about having to vacuum. If you are concerned about the price, maybe you want it but you still don’t know if it’s worth it? Can you potentially afford it? If you can, I’m telling you right now to do it. Buy the vacuum. You will not regret it. This is probably one of the best home maintenance products that I’ve ever purchased. If anything goes wrong, of course, I will update my review, but I highly doubt it. This vacuum is nothing less than impressive. it was worth it for me. I have attached photos of what the unit looks like after vacuuming my floor… it’s gross. It picked up years of dirt that had found its forever home at the very bottom of the carpet. 🥴 I’ll never have to deal with that again. ... show more

  • Highly recommend
Style: Navigator (Navy)
This is a long one, but it's worth the read if you're doing some serious shopping for a vacuum cleaner: I picked this up in October so I've been using it for a few months just to get a genuine sense of how this vacuum really performed and I am absolutely impressed! This beats my Dyson AND my Kirby hands down. Superior suction, amazing maneuverability, lighter than either the Kirby or the Dyson. ( If you're wondering why I own so many vacuums, I clean for a living.) I bought this for the house. I have two cats and a husband who's into Warhammer so you know there are sprew bits and cat hair everywhere and this thing handles it like a champ! I wasn't sold on how small the floor attachment was until I used it: I can get underneath my barstools so much easier now and my entire house ( approx. 2000 sq ft.) is done in 20 minutes, tops! There is a learning curve, but that's something you get with any new vacuum. I was also super impressed by the ease with which I can switch from floor to handheld attachments. Some of these other vacuums I've used are so bulky and difficult to handle all the small attachments... Not this one! I'm able to switch back and forth from floor to handheld quick, fast and in a hurry. Bonus points that it's lightweight. I'm not killing myself just to vacuum my house. It's really saved my back! And it was so much less expensive than the Dyson or the Kirby. The window on the floor attachment gives me a clear view of the roller brush ( yeah, it makes me accountable which is a good thing. It's harder to ignore when I can see it so thanks for that, too. ). The cord is a tad short, so I went ahead a bought a small extension cord to go with it, but other than that, I'm very impressed! I wish I had bought this years ago. I will never buy another vacuum from anyone else other than Shark again. Good job, guys! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serious little vacuum. ... show more

  • Holy Suction!
Style: Navigator (Navy)
My husband has spent the last several days laughing at me because I am IN LOVE with my new vacuum! Seriously! The suction on this thing is amazing AND it is adjustable. If you're finding it hard to vacuum on certain surfaces, it's because you need to adjust your settings. So just for reference, I used it to vacuum a 4,000sq ft. house, with stairs and multiple surfaces (carpet, rugs, hardwood and tile), and it held up amazingly the entire time! When using the full unit, it picked up everything on the first swipe and left a spotless floor in its wake, INCLUDING on the hardwood and tile floors. I couldn't believe it. I hate sweeping with the broom, but the vacuum is never enough. Now it is! When using the detachable unit for the stairs and higher areas, it performed, dare I say, even better. The stairs were the best they have ever been. There was no loss of suction when switching to the detachable unit. The tools attached and performed above expectation, with no lag or inability to pick up debris. The tools for higher spaces worked perfectly and efficiently. This vacuum is a great deal especially for the price. I will never buy another vacuum, ever. ... show more

  • Mostly great
Style: Navigator (Navy)
I’ve had it for a few months now and it’s a great little vacuum. The good: great suction, easy to clean, lightweight, comes with some attachments. The base detaches so it’s easy to move around if vacuuming steps. I have a dog and 3 cats and this does the job every time. The bad (for me anyway): the cord seems pretty short compared to some of my older Sharks. The hose is also very short and becomes a problem when I’m trying to vacuum steps. The attachments it comes with aren’t great and I ended up keeping attachments from my older shark. The canister is small. I’m finding myself having to empty it a lot quicker than my old one. The base of the vacuum is also pretty small. Again comparing with my older shark that had a bigger base so was vacuuming more at once. All in all, I do feel that it’s a great purchase, just a little bit to get used to. ... show more
