How do I give this thing 10 stars?? Seriously. This vacuum is a gift from heaven! We have struggled with long-hair dogs, long-hair cats, a chinchilla that throws her bedding and food outside her cage daily, terrible builder-grade quality carpet that mats really easily, making it difficult to get things properly vacuumed and cleaned. We have purchased expensive Dyson vacuums specifically for pets, expensive Shark vacuums specifically for pets, and an expensive Kirby, which honestly has been the best vacuum so far. Until this cheap Bissell. Not cheap quality... PHENOMENAL quality for a cheap price. Don't bother spending $500 on a junky Dyson. This Bissell is a miracle worker. We were literally about to rip out our carpeting in the upstairs hallway because it was so matted with pet hair that just wouldn't come out. We were going to just epoxy the plywood underneath because it would look better than the ratty carpet. But I thought I'd hunt one more time for a vacuum on Amazon. I read reviews raving about this vacuum that led me to buy it. And we are thrilled with this thing! My husband and I can't stop vacuuming. And we watch each other vacuum so we can see this miracle in action. We had vacuumed our bedroom with the Kirby. Two days later, we vacuumed our bedroom with this Bissell. Filled up the canister before we even finished the room!! This pulled up years of embedded dirt, hair, whatever grossness every other vacuum failed to pick up. It left those beautiful vacuum lines in the carpeting for the first time in years! It actually picked up the carpet pile that was totally matted down. We emptied the canister and moved on. We finished the bedroom, then vacuumed that matted hair in the hallway, which this baby picked up with ease. Hubby and I gasped in wonderment. Then, we emptied the canister again and moved on. We vacuumed the bonus room, where the chinchilla makes her mess. It picked up all of her hay and bedding with ease! The only con that I saw about this vacuum that affected me was the length of the hose for the attachments. True, the hose is short. But the vacuum is lightweight enough to carry it step by step to be able to vacuum the stairs. And it still reaches the full couch seats. That was another miracle! Our dogs like to sneak onto the couch when no one's looking, so both long-hair clumps and short-hair bristles get embedded into the couch cushions. With a few swipes with the attachment, 2/3 of the couch filled up half the canister of dog hair!! And the attachment actually has it's own functioning roller with bristles, like a little mini vacuum!! It's not just stationary attachment at the end of a hose... it's a mini vacuuum!! I am telling you... this is the best vacuum ever. I never would have imagined an inexpensive Bissell would outshine every "big name" superpower vacuum. But it does. Leaps and bounds better.

This vacuum is great! When I ordered it I was expecting one of those huge heavy vacuums that drags you across the floor, but this one is a perfect in between size that’s not too heavy but is sturdy enough to be powerful. I was able to carry the box up to my apartment by myself which was great, and I’m definitely lacking in upper body strength 😅. It has some weight to it, but I think it would still be light enough to carry up and down stairs. It’s very easy to maneuver around furniture and items. It has great suction and picks up dust, pet hair, and small items like pieces of dry cat food easily (I only have hard wood floors, so I can’t speak to carpeting, but it did great on my little area rugs). The best part is that it actually has suction up to the edge of the vacuum head, instead of just pushing dirt/ cat litter/etc. up against the wall, it picks it up, I’ve never seen the corners and baseboards of my place so clean. The attachments are also good and the wand has very powerful suction. I ran it over my window sills and they look like I wiped them down. It’s also very easy to put together (you will need a screwdrivers for the 2 screws to hold the handle on) and very intuitive to take the pieces/ attachments apart and put together. I like that there’s one button to open the tank to empty it and it dumps out, rather than having to stick my hand in there and have dirt / the filter fall into the trash together. The filter can twist in and out easily and is washable. The cord length is long enough to reach multiple rooms from the same plug (though I have a 1 bedroom apt so there’s not much to reach). The tank has pretty okay storage. I could see it not being enough for every room in a large house, it’s so easy to dump though so I don’t see why you couldn’t easily empty as you go. I cleaned my entire place, which hadn’t been vacuumed in about a week, and it I was only a little over halfway to the full mark on the tank. All in all, I think it’s great for the price and worth it for pet owners who need something that can stand up to constant hair/ litter pickup, but don’t want to be dragging around a massive tank of a vacuum.

Personal info- my old vacuum broke. They usually last about two years tops in my household. I have 3 dogs (a long haired collie + 2 other excessive shedders) and two children (under 3), plus a husband. All women know thats like another kid. Also, vacuuming sucks. One of my least favorite chores-but who has a favorite right? I vacuum every other day if not every day. I don’t normally go for the expensive machines because of how quickly we go through them. This time though, I had my eyes on a high functioning, high powered, expensive quality machine for a weeks. I was hoping for something that would last longer!! While going through all the pros and cons on multiple vacuums and brands, I decided to buy this one until I could find a “really nice one” that I liked enough to pay $300+ on. Save yourself from hours of comparing and buy this one. Like I said, this was my temporary replacement. I ended my research and comparing after I received this in the mail (took 3 days). Best vacuum I’ve ever had. I’ve had at least 5 different machines since becoming a homeowner. All of them have been pretty generic with no features other than function. This vacuum is awesome-especially for the price. I love the automatic rewind, the swivel, the easy removal of the brushes for easy cleaning, the easy dump dirt container, the easy clean/replace filter, the brushes on the side that grab the loose hair near the floor boards, and most importantly the suction. I couldn’t believe how much I picked up with just one rotation in my house! (I used to go over high traffic rooms 2-3 times). BUY IT. I can have a baby on my hip and get the vacuum out, use it, and put it away with ease. Seriously, EASE. Even my husband likes vacuuming but don’t get your hopes up ladies. I can’t promise that for you. If only BISSELL could add the husband feature in the future! It even has a nice suction indicator- I haven’t seen it change from green (good suction) which I assume is a good thing! I will hopefully be able to see it change if the motor isn’t functioning or if something is stuck. I’ve had this machine for 4 months and today it works like it did when I took it out of the box. I’ve cleaned my brushes once and I empty the dirt container after every use. I haven’t had to mess with the filter but it looks like I’ll just have to rinse it. The swivel took some getting used to but I’ve never had a swivel turn vacuum before so that just might be me. I love it now but that’s why I docked a star. Some reviewers mentioned they had trouble maneuvering corners and such but again, it just took some getting used to. I definitely recommend for parents and dog owners as this picks up everything from spilled Cheerios and food crumbs, dog hair, and dirt I thought my old machine should have gotten. I hope this review saves a few buyers from wasting time comparing brands and machines! I feel like I saved a hundred+ dollars by purchasing this. Again, I’ve never had anything more than a $200 machine but I’ll purchase this one again when I have to. It still works great and I expect it to last twice as long as any vacuum I’ve had in the past. Ah mazing, easy assembly, works great, above and beyond my expectations. It’s got great suction and pick up. Used it right after I assembled it. It’s easy to maneuver and light weight. I prefer this corded vacuum over my Shark Cordless (which costed 3x as much). Great value for the price. I highly recommend this Bissell even if you don’t have a pet, it works that well. It’s a 10star for me. Love it.

My old clunker died and I was forced to finally get something from this decade. I chose this one being under $100 and didn't expect much, but was I ever impressed! This thing is fairly lightweight, it handles easily with a slightly swiveling base, the motor pulls it forward so it requires less effort to keep things moving...I could go on. The cord is long, too. It doesn't have the fancy bells and whistles that you'd find at a higher price point, but it susre packs a lot of power for being a nice priced mid-size. It does such a good job that I'm actually feeling inspired to do more cleaning because of this thing.

I’ve had this vacuum for three months and I love it. It’s very powerful and does a thorough job. I’ve had a cordless vacuum and they just do not compare to this. The pet hand attachment is also a huge bonus since I have two cats with lots of fur. See before and after of using just the attachment on our chairs.

This vacuum reminds me of the powerful vacuums manufacturers used to make! It is heavy-duty with strong suction & several height settings so you can use it on any surface. The attachments all have onboard, convenient spots on the vacuum itself. The cord retracts smoothly & everything is designed with ease-of-use in mind. Although it’s larger, it easily fits into tight spaces & does a great job of picking things up on the first pass. I have purchased so many bad vacuums that I wasn’t expecting it to be this efficient & agile, but I’m happy to report, it is amazing! I highly recommend this vacuum.
