Can it charge Tesla and other EVs? Yes! This charger has a J1772 charging connetor, which fits most U.S. EV brands, and to charge a Tesla EV you need to use the J1772 to NACS adapter. Can I use it indoors or outdoors? The charger is built for both indoor and outdoor use, so you can install it in your garage or driveway. How can I control the charger and share access with others? You can manage your charger via RFID tags or our smart mobile app. The app allows you to easily share control with family, guests, or neighbors. Simply send a remote invite or have them scan your code. You can grant access for required usages. Do I need to hire a professional to install the charger? For full 11.5 kW (48A) charging, a licensed electrician must hardwire the unit. For easier setup, you can use the included NEMA 14-50 plug to charge via a standard 14-50 outlet at up to 9.6 kW (40A) without professional installation. Can I schedule charging? Yes! To unlock all of the features the charger supports, including scheduled/delayed charging, you will need to install the ICAPIA Home app. The app is available for both iOS and Android devices.

I was having a couple of issues and called the support line and immediately got through to a very knowledgeable person who took the time needed to help me get the system set up. The issue I was having had NOTHING to do with the charger and everything to do with a wifi range limitation I have on my end. Worked well once the WIFI and Bluetooth were connected to the app. The mounting plate was missing, so I improvised. The supplied universal adapter was necessary. It has only been a few weeks, so we will see how long it lasts.

    • Helpful tip if you encounter issues connecting.

If you’re having trouble connecting the charger to the app, one reason may be that the charger was used/tested and set up on another network before you got it. If you see the internet icon in the top right hand corner has a line through it, this would indicate that. To correct this, press and hold the A button for 10 seconds or until you see that icon change to the Internet icon with a little G under it. When you see this, you can try connecting to your 2.4 ghz network again. That should do it. I imagine this is a common issue if they are doing any kind of testing on the units before they send them out if they’re forgetting to clear the network before the package them. Or if it’s a repackaged preowned model, that could be the reason. Either way they should include these instructions in their trouble shooting tips to save themselves and their customers some headache. So far so good. I like its simplicity and protection so strangers don't have access to use your charger without permission. Sage advice: Get it hardwired. It will save you frustration. There is a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) in the cable and an outlet. They could fight, and you will end up losing. ... show more
