  • Easy to I stall and use.
Pattern Name: Charger Style: NEMA 14-50 plug
First off I work for a major car brand and have an electric vehicle. I wanted something better to suit the space where I want to locate my charger. The charger that came with my car is nice but a little awkward to hang on a wall plus there was a recall on the charger just a few days ago. This product is well thought out and feels like a quality piece. Although I’m not an electrician, I was able to get this mounted and plugged into my existing 14-50 NEMA 50 amp in under 20 minutes. The directions were in french but the illustrations were easy enough to understand. All the tools you need to mount this charger are provided which include a drill bit for the exact size hole for the 2” lag bolts, and the accompanying 9/16 socket with a drill adapter that fits most drills for the lag bolts. It even has a mounting template to align the holes for you to drill into the stud. The ChargePoint app works flawlessly and was easy to connect to my home WiFi. Overall I highly recommend this charger. ... show more

  • High Quality, Easy to Install
Pattern Name: Charger Style: Hardwired
This was one of the more expensive chargers around. I did a lot of research and this one got great reviews. So far everything is great and worth the money. I did the installation myself. I chose hardwired vs installing a NEMA plug. I like that you can run the wires into the unit from the back (through the wall) or up through the bottom, which is what I did by running conduit in my garage. I read about fires occurring from people using cheap NEMA outlets that can't handle the load. That's another reason I decided on hard wired. A great feature of this charger is how the wires are clamped down to the charging unit. Many of the problems I've read with self installing chargers (not done by an electrician) are the wires coming lose because they are not properly tightened with a torque screwdriver. Didn't have to worry about that because the wires are clamped down with a lever. There is a great template for mounting the charger to a stud. Took me less than 30 minutes to install (not including the time to run the wires). Great installation instructions and online videos too. The app works very well. You cannot put in different electricity costs based on peak vs off peak rates. I only pay 1 price so was not an issue for me. ... show more

  • Perfect for my new 2024 Genesis Electrified g80!
Pattern Name: Charger Style: Hardwired
Looks great, very easy for my electrician to install by running a new line under my house and into the garage. Fast charging up to 80% with an estimated energy usage cost of $2.09 for a range of +/- 270 miles ... the app is an excellent tool as well.

  • Excellent, adaptable Level 2 charger
Pattern Name: Charger Style: NEMA 14-50 plug
This charger works perfectly in my garage and has a 23 foot long charging cord so it can reach any vehicle in the garage. It also has a groove on top to enable the cord to be stored wrapped around the charger. The interface is easily understandable (a chart explaining the charger’s color coding is included) and it is supported by a branded app for those who prefer mobile control. It also is modifiable by the installing electrician so it can be used in a range of amps, depending on what power is available. ... show more

  • Simple Installation and Set Up
Pattern Name: Charger Style: NEMA 14-50 plug
I researched dozens of charging units before finally settling for the ChargePoint. I liked its look, slick design, and cable storage. What really sold me with the design is the holster. The way it swivels down and not stick out. The cable length is perfect, and the connector has a nice feel and look. I Installed a 50A circuit and a Bryant Electric NEMA 14-50R outlet that I purchased from Amazon as well to utilize the 40A charging capability. It charges at 29-30 miles per hour. The App is really simple. It was a matter of minutes to set it up on WiFi and the schedule. I went back and forth with setting the schedule on the ChargePoint or on my Genesis GV60. Both schedulers are adequate, but in the end I chose to use the ChargePoint scheduler because when I used my car scheduler the ChargePoint shows as charging time when it's actually idle time. It logs time from connect to disconnect (not charge start/stop when using the car scheduler). There's no issue as far as it's drawing power, its more my anal retentiveness in seeing the idle time shown as charge time in the charge log. It also set your rate plan for your particular utility company to ensure it'll never charge out of your time of your low rates. The one caveat was the time change. I'm in California, and when it was time to fall back, it didn't. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with, when we spring forward we're on the same timezone as Arizona (whose time doesn't change). So when I was expecting it to alert me at 8pm as a reminder to plug in to my car it didn't. By it not auto adjusting the time; if it was plugged into my car, it would have started charging at 8pm, which is an hour before my low rate (9pm) kicks in. There wasn't a quick way to change my time zone. I had to go on YouTube to find a video of someone having the same issue. In order to get the time to adjust to the right time, I had to change my address to a random address in a different timezone and then reboot the charger. Then I had to change the address back to my address and reboot the charger again, and the time issue was resolved. Hopefully they'll come with a software update to fix the time issue. I've been really satisfied with my selection, and I definitely recommend this charging unit. ... show more
