The adapter works well and takes up very little space in my glove box. It quickly and surely adapts my car for charging on my wife’s Tesla charger, and handles up to 80 amps for the larger fast chargers as well. Got this to charge a non Tesla EV with a Tesla charger. If it did not work, I would have had to buy another charger and have an electrician install it, which would have cost a few hundred dollars. Not bad for $35.

If you charge your vehicle outside and its raining, do not use this adapter. Last night the water dripped down into the connecter and caused it to trip the system. It was in its locked position. This would not happen if a drain hole was built in.

I was skeptical due to the aggressive price and that it was 1/2 the cost of some others. But I thought that it would be an easy return with Amazon if it didn't work. I needed this due to my Tesla Model X having some work done and had to rent an EV while it was out. I was really happy from the moment that I opened the box that it's construction was solid. Nothing cheap or flimsy with it's construction. I did have an issue getting it to work with my Tesla Wall Connector. HOWEVER, it was an operator error. If I had noticed the small yellow tag attached to the adapter which said "Please make sure the Tesla Wall Connectors access is set for all vehicles" which mine was not. (Really nice that they included the tag as a reminder) Once I changed the Wall Connector to all Access, it worked flawlessly. Very happy with my purchase. ... show more

I tried a different one of these before which was terrible and the nose actually broke off trying to remove it from my car's charging port. This one on the other hand is great! It's very compact, plugs right into a Tesla plug and then into my car. We have a public Tesla charger close to the office and now I can finally use it. Compatible with Tesla as in- and J1772 as output. Charged with full L2 capacity of 8.8kW on these chargers. I'm assuming they're maxed out set to 40A.
