Purchased this adapter to charge a 2024 Dodge Hornet hybrid on our existing Tesla Gen1 wall adapter. It initially did not work, kept failing with an error on the car & charger. Found that there is a protocol switch between "Tesla" and "Legacy" communication mode (DIP switch position 2 on the Gen1 charger) that had to be switched to "Legacy" mode. Once that was done, the charger worked fine with the Hornet using this adapter... and continues to work fine on the Model 3 that charges on it as well in "Legacy" mode. Hope that helps! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Updated below. Got the adapter yesterday. Hit a destination charger to see what my Mach-e would pull. I got it to work but it is not clipped to the Tesla NACS cable. The charger is reported to provide 16k. I am only seeing 8 and it might be the adapter. Because of the poor connection I don't feel safe just leaving while it's charging. The plastic feels okay but doesn't give me a solid feel. Update: The seller sent me an updated version. I made a video at the same Tesla destination charger as before. This adapter worked much better, and the latch was easy to operate. A secure connection. This unit feels a bit better in the hand than the previous one.
