works great just as advertised. The app gives enough data to be useful but isn't required for operation. I could see where wiring might be of concern for some, it's a matter of having a circuit avaible that will handle it, we had an exisiting 60amp ciruit that is no longer used for welder that this took the place of. Our PHEV won't accept the max charing so we turned it down to 16 amps output via the dip-switches. It's a fantastic addition over the 120v charger we were using previously. It now charges in a matter of a few hours rather than over night. We only bought this rather than a small 20-30 amp charger due to being mfg'd in North America and having growth capacity if we bought a dedicated EV. Currently own a '25 Kia Sorento PHEV hybrid and yes it's overkill but will grow going forward, isn't overly complicated, overly connected, etc. Would have rather bought a USA made unit but from months of efforts and comparison this was the only unit that checked the boxes and was about $300 cheaper than it's nearest competitor that was built in North or Central America. Thank you Canada for producing a reasonably simple charger that doesn't collect a rediculous amount of data, require an app to connect/charge at a reasonable price.

I’ve been using this for almost a month now to charge my 2026 Hummer EV 3x. I also bought a 2nd one from their website which is indoors in the garage, this one is out in the driveway. Both have been great, I never had an issue with either. Well, I did need to reach out to their support as one wouldn’t update properly but they solved the issue for me from their end within an hour so great support quite honestly. The app works and while it isn’t super great it gets the job done. I don’t need yo set charging times and all that so for me, it just works good for what I need it to do. Installation was easy, value is very worth it. Cord length is great, though I wish the cable was a little more rubbery feeling so it bends better in very cold weather. Not a deal breaker but in cold it does get a little stiffer compared to some. But all in all, live this charger and the company seems great so far.

Was shocked at how compact the unit was when I got it. The install was super easy. Connecting it to WiFi is easy as long as you follow the instructions. The case is sturdy metal and feels super high quality. Charges great and love that I can input my local electricity rate and it shows me how much every charge costs me.

We wanted a charger that could put up with our notoriously wet, cold, and blustery weather conditions; give us security to lock down the unit when we weren't using it; and set it to run only during our utility's off-peak hours. Our electrician recommended Grizzl-E for our climate. When I saw the State of Charge review where a Grizzl-E charger was sprayed with a water hose, dropped in a bucket of water, and still worked flawlessly, I figured we were choosing the right brand. While some have criticized the app for being too basic, it allows us to turn the unit on and off or to set it to a timer with a simple press of a button. It also allows us to see what each charging session has cost us and to assign the charge to a specific user. It also shows basic information regarding amperage, voltage, kilowatt hours, and length of session. The charger is rated at 48 amps and its average amperage when charging our 2024 Prologue is around 47.7 amps. We gained 150 miles of range in just over four hours - ideal for overnight charging at home. While you might get away with a cheaper charger in warmer climates or a garage install, the Grizzl-E is the best value for an outdoor installation in the northern United States.

Update Feb 7, 2026 I bought the charger because it has a metal enclosure and unfortunately, I needed to mount mine on a south facing wall. It will be baked in the hot Arizona sun all summer. I also wanted something NOT made in China. In those respects, I am happy with the charger. That is the end of my joy however. I absolutely hate the app! Where I live, my electricity rates have three tiers based on the season. They have winter, summer and summer peak rates. The app thinks there are only two seasons and there is no option to add one. Also, you cannot set the rate by month either. So, that part of the minimally useful app is completely useless! When I was trying to figure this out I went looking for the app manual. There is one, but it looks like it was done by a lazy summer intern on their last day of employment while their supervisor was on vacation. The 17 “pages” of the manual are long and skinny like a newspaper column. They do not allow you to zoom in or out based on your preference, eye-sight or monitor size. You get the scaling that they selected or nothing. 80% of your screen with be unused. The cherry on top is that they also actively prevent people from downloading a PDF of manual. Evidently they do not support customers without an active internet connection. The app says my charger has a firmware update available. My charger is in the ready state, I click on the update button and the app says it is “updating”. I get no errors, but the update does not work. The app goes back to the update available screen. The charger’s firmware version remains unchanged and the update button is available again. I’ve tried restarting the app and my phone, but no luck. Those chargers from China never looked so good! -------------------- You pay nearly $500 for a charger which is to be professionally installed, you would think they would include the full installation instructions for the professional your are paying by the hour. Nope, you get an abbreviated pamphlet. We got it done, but I had to apologize to the electrician for the lack of documentation. Honestly, it isn't that complicated, but they should provide full installation instructions right out of the box. Next, the company is also too cheap to include the hardware to secure the charger against theft. That's extra and no, it isn't an option to be able to purchase it as a bundle. By the way, the Master Lock 1471DAT Trailer Coupler Latch Lock, 3-4/10" Long Shackle x 9/32" Diameter Pin (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000AZ7WJ) also works. I hate the app! Such a frustrating experience! I logged into the charger to verify it was working when the electrician first powered it on, following the included instructions. What the instructions failed to mention is that the app is too stupid to setup the charger if someone did manually login via a browser. I got an error "station already in use. If the issue persists, please contact support:" with a link to click on. Since the problem doesn't fix itself, yes it persists! I clicked on the link and was taken to a support page. I searched for "station already in use". Their own website could not find a reference to the error message that their app was giving me. Thank god for AI! It was able to help me. Once I got past that error, I got "Your device seems to be offline." when I logged in the app. My charger was obviously on but the app was zero help. Every time I started the app I was greeted by the error. Again, AI to the rescue. When you use the app, you are forced to create an account and forced to agree to them using your data. You have to provide your name, phone number, physical address and email. WHY!? At first I thought it was so they could do something smart and automatically bring up the available utility rates based on my address. NOPE! I had do all that manually. Needless to say, if I had to do it over again, I would not buy this charger!

This hardwire unit was relatively easy to install if you're qualified to work with residential electrical. Provides full L2 charging power for most EVs today. #6 wire and a 60A dual pole cpd is what you'll need. Has a nice app to change charge parameters and store charging history. Works without issue powering my KIA EV9 GTL

UPDATE: Cannot recommend. Our 6 month old charger (installed by a licensed electrician) stopped working. I went ahead and bought another, summing we could swap it out and send the first one back for warranty service. NOPE. This charger showed the LED blinking red three times which according to their own website means stuck relay. This is apparently a not uncommon issue for them. The website doesn’t seem to have anyway to get real time technical support. You have to fill in a detailed ticket that asks technical questions about your install and then you wait a day and get an email back. I expected to receive information on how to send the defective unit back for service. Nope, I got instructions for how I (a lay person) could trouble shoot my unit. I don’t know if they think I’m going to pay an electrician to come out and do that, send in the results, wait a day until I get the reply email, then pay to have the electrician come back.. who knows? So now my $500 charger is basically junk and I’m left without much support. No thanks. So, I am sending the 2nd unit I just bought as a replacement back to Amazon for a full refund and will just eat the $500 loss on the defective unit. Paying the electrician to come out costs more that the charger so why gamble that the next one lasts longer than six months. I get that some units will be lemons and I’m okay with that. But I’m really appalled at the lack of service/support. ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW: Bought this charger back in September. Couldn’t get an electrician for the install until October (which was $1500 despite not requiring a panel upgrade). Someone else mentioned a lack of install instructions. Agree—it didn’t have much information about installation in the package but the electrician didn’t seem to care. We have used this regularly over the past five months and overall liked it. However, now it’s having problems and over past few days works only sometimes. The device gives a blinking error light (red, three times) which per a quick google search means the relay is stuck. We have tried cycling the power and doing the firmware update but does not seem to fix the issue. Since it’s been otherwise okay and we need a functioning charger I’m buying another one with the plan to submit the original one in for a warranty claim. I will report back on how that goes.
