I have owned Scanpan skillets for several years. They were my go-to for almost all meals. Stainless steel is superior for searing meats because of the high temperature needed, but Scanpan is wonderful for all other applications. Recently, we moved into a new home that had a induction cooktop range. I was in despair because all my Scanpan skillets were aluminum bottomed and weren’t compatible with the range. After several months of mutilated fried eggs, I researched and found my Scanpan with a stainless steel bottom. Who has perfect eggs every time now, ME. Thank you Scanpan for having this product!

Initial Reaction 5 Stars. After giving up on an older set of Calphalon fry pans with zero non-stick properties left, and concerned about health implications, I decided to buy a new set. I researched product options thoroughly on Consumer Reports, the Internet and Amazon and I decided to give Scanpan PRO IQ products a try; I bought 3 sizes. Although a bit pricey for my pedestrian tastes, I forged ahead. (In all fairness to the Calphalon brand, my lack of knowledge and the way I treated/cared for the pans over the years may very well have led to our disappointing results.) Our initial reaction to Scanpan is very positive. The pans aren't as heavy as cast-iron or even the older Calphalon pans they replaced. Based on user comments and the Scanpan instructions, I set up some simple rules for the family to follow with these new pans: THOU SHALT: 1. Cook on medium heat, no more than medium high heat. (We have a glass top range.) I've already noticed that the induction pans seem to radiate heat and cook hotter. Being the impatient type, I always tended to cook hotter hoping to cook faster. (High heat is a non-stick no-no.) 2. Heat the pan to cooking temperature before adding oil; begin cooking immediately thereafter. 3. Allow the pan to cool before cleaning. THOU SHALT NOT: 1. Use aerosol cooking sprays. 2. Overheat; Cook on Medium to Medium-High only. 3. Immerse hot pan in water for any reason. (This could warp the pan?) 4. Use metal utensils. (Scanpan says OK, but it's not worth the risk.) 5. Use lemon dish detergent. (IDK. I read that on a review. I thought better safe than sorry!) 6. Clean pans in the dishwasher. (Scanpan says OK, but it's not worth the risk.) 7. Season with oil. I'll update this post periodically throughout the life of the pans. I hope I made a good choice! Mark

I've had this pan for about a month now, and used nearly daily. I could go on and on about how great this pan is, but I'll sum it up. If this pan performs as well as it does now after a few years (I've heard of these lasting decades), I'll be a fan forever. Nothing sticks at all. Ever. They're heavier than I'm used to, but not heavy (make sense?). I've heard that having a new pan makes good taste better. I didn't believe it a bit. I'm a believer with these pans! I love cooking, but now even more so with how easy cooking is with these, and how easy they are to wash. Bottom line, I'm now a solid believer. I love this pan!

At last, there's a nonstick pan that's worth having! Feel the surface, it's incredibly slippery but also it's hard. I've had mine for a few months, and it's become my favorite pan because its nonstick surface works better than my All-Clad nonsticks. Yes, they say you can put it into the dishwasher but I don't,. because I've had nonstick pans before that went into the dishwasher--and didn't last. But there's hardly a need for the dishwasher with this pan--a quick wipe with a soapy sponge and it's clean. They tell you to go ahead and use metal utensils with it but I don't do that either. I have plastic, because of my other nonstick pans, so I'll preserve this one. I can believe that it would stand up to metal utensils, but I want it to last a long, long time because it's my favorite pan! It's impressive, shows no signs of wear so far. It's already the best nonstick I've ever seen.

This replaced a hard anodized Le Creuset 9 1/2 in frying pan that lost its nonstick properties after a year of use. So far this pan has shown itself to be far superior to my old one. If cutting back on fat is important to you you can easily make everything from burgers to eggs with little or no fat, your food won't stick and clean up is simple. It is coated stainless so the pan heats quickly and evenly. To my knowledge Scanpan doesn't make a lid for this size pan but I was able to use the one I already had, so any generic 9 1/2 in lid would probably work. I've only had this pan for maybe 3 mos, I'm hoping it will hold up.

This is an enjoyable pan to cook with. The non stick is great, eggs just come off so easy. Cleaning the pan is so easy. I like the pan is heavy with a thicker bottom to hold heat longer. Because I like the pan so much I have now bought a second pan.
