  • Chargepoint app set up was easy after electrician installed.
Connector Type Used on Cable: Hardwired (J1772)...
Works as it should, easy install, no issues for electrician, name brand seems to be worth it. I wanted a charger without LED display screen on charger, which likely will fail someday, the housing is heavy duty plastic and seems sufficient (better if it were metal), less to break and fail for this simple yet robust product. Obviously L2 charger is much faster. Wifi set up was seamless, just opened the charge point app and went through set up steps, connected to my home wifi, verified a 50 AMP dedicated breaker, and set charger to 32 AMPS because that is my EV max charging ability. Only have to plug in once or twice a week now! App does track monthly electricity used in charge point app. ... show more

  • Fast, Reliable, and Worth Every Penny!
Connector Type Used on Cable: Hardwired (J1772)...
We couldn’t be happier with this charger! The ChargePoint HomeFlex is incredibly fast and has made charging our EV so convenient. We love the sleek design and the fact that it’s hardwired for a clean, professional look. The app is super user friendly and lets my husband schedule charging, track energy usage, and get notifications right from my phone. It feels solid and well made, and the charging cable is a great length. Installation was straightforward for our electrician, and everything worked perfectly from day one. If you’re looking for a reliable Level 2 charger that performs flawlessly, this is the one! ... show more

  • Easy EV Charger
Connector Type Used on Cable: Hardwired (J1772)...
This is a great EV charger for level 2 home charging with the CCS plug. As of 2025, new cars will start using the NACS plug (Tesla). Most cars come with adapters to use either plug. This charger works flawlessly with either (NACS compatibility with your own adapter). The hardwired charger is the safest option, as long as you have at least a 6AWG wire connecting to a 60AMP breaker in your electrical panel. This lets you safely select 48AMPs of power, which works out to about 11kWh. This provides the best home charging experience in my opinion. Initial setup is easy in fast. However, wifi is required to complete installation. The charger only supports 2G wifi; it will see 5G wifi and connect to it, but give a cryptic error message and not finish setup. Plugging in is easy and the charge cable is long to reach inside or outside most garages. The cable is sturdy, though be careful not to damage it or drag it across the ground. The app integration works well, although it does not support multiple users in the home. Each person would have to install the app under one account (as of 2025). There are plenty of options to check charging status, and even stop charging remotely. We have the charger set up to not charge during peak hours, which our utility company charges triple the price. This schedule is easily set up in the app. Occasionally, the power ring of the charger will turn white. This means it’s not connected to wifi, or it’s not connected to the ChargePoint cloud service. When this happens, the charger will charge more slowly. I don’t like the idea that the charger requires a cloud connection to charge at full speed. Also, there’s no physical reboot button on the unit. Sometimes the white ring can be solved by turning the unit off and on. This requires you to go to the electrical panel and flip off the breaker for 1 minute. All-in-all, it’s a good and reliable charger, and some power companies offer rebates. ... show more

  • Would be a great product if not for the frustrating design flaw
Connector Type Used on Cable: Hardwired (J1772)...
I would love to give the product 5 stars, but unfortunately, due to what appears to be a design flaw along with poor customer service I will only give it 2 stars. When this charger works, it's a great product. I've experienced no issues charging our car and I appreciate the flexibility of being able to adjust the charge current to time the charging to finish just prior to leaving on a long journey. The ability to monitor and track charging costs is also very helpful. I've not used the scheduling functionality yet. Now for the downside - after approximately 8 months from installing the unit the WiFi connection failed. No matter how much troubleshooting I attempted I could not get the unit to reconnect to (or even recognize) the WiFi. After several calls to ChargePoint customer service (and appeasing them by following their non-sensical troubleshooting instructions) they agreed to send a replacement unit. The replacement arrived within a week or so. I noticed it was a previously returned unit (as it had scratches where it had previously been installed) and after installation the unit was dead on arrival and would not turn on. I contacted customer support again (again appeasing them by following their redundant troubleshooting steps) and they agreed that I should return the replacement and they would send another. I then reinstalled my original unit albeit without WiFi, so I could charge my car. Unfortunately, they closed the support ticket and reopened a new one. These tickets were not connected and so it was frustrating dealing with customer support having to explain the issues I was experiencing. After returning their unit to them, I was still hassled by emails for several weeks stating I needed to return the unit. Eventually, I had to explain to them that FedEx had delivered the unit and provided them the date of delivery and who had signed to accept the unit. This eventually stopped the emails. After waiting approximately 5 weeks and contacting customer support several times, they eventually sent me another replacement unit. After installation, this unit appeared to work fine. It started up without issues and connected to WiFi. I returned the original unit I purchased to them. Unfortunately, after several months now I still get hassled via email asking for me to return this unit. This is even after providing them the tracking information showing it had been delivered and who had signed for it. The replacement unit worked for approximately 6 weeks before disconnecting from WiFi as the original unit did. Frustrated with the experience of dealing with ChargePoint customer service, I resigned my self to using the Charger as a dumb charger (only being able to charge and not being able to monitor or control it over WiFi). However, after researching the issue on the internet forums it appears this is a very common issue with this product. I eventually found someone stating that by disconnecting the power for several days their unit would work again and reconnect to their WiFi. I decided to give this a try and viola! It worked again. There appears to be an obvious design flaw with this product - be it hardware or software, I am not sure. However, it appears that a simple reboot does not fix this issues with WiFi, but discharging the unit over an extended period of time does (sometimes). Currently my unit has dropped off WiFi and I cannot get it to reconnect. Therefore all features that require Wi-Fi (setting a charging schedule, changing charging amperage, notifications, etc.) do not work. Back to just being a dumb charger! It has been a frustrating experience working with this unit and with ChargePoint customer support. Therefore, I cannot recommend this product in favor of other EV charger on the market. ... show more
