  • Worked for our situation
I got these for my teen who was having trouble hearing and she says they do help when she is in a crowded room and around fans. They are not extremely easy for her to wear in public so she didn’t wear them all the time. She did not have any issues with setting them up and using them. But we finally found out her hearing is actually normal but the difference in her ears is 10 percent and apparently according to an audiologist yr brain will tell you if it is a difference of more than 3 percent so that is why she has trouble. So I share this as a disclaimer to basically say if you actually have something wrong with your ears like ear damage then you may have a different experience even though to us they seemed like an awesome product. It is always better to know what yr dealing with. ... show more

  • Good option
My father-in-law hasn't been diagnosed as needing hearing aids, but as a family we have all kind of decided he would benefit from them. These are a great low cost option if someone needs just a little boost for their hearing. They aren't prescription grade, but they get the job done for some mild hearing loss. My FIL doesn't love them because they are very obvious (and he's in denial about needing them) so for someone who is hesistant that may be a drawback. ... show more

  • Bad Sound; Worse Than Nothing
I suppose you get what you pay for. Even after trying to get used to them for several days, they just couldn't be set to work well. It either over-amplified or under-amplified sounds, causing pain and discomfort with no benefit of increased hearing.

  • Wonderful hearing aide
Yes, they aren’t custom or prescription but for the hearing enhancement they offer at a reasonable price- they are wonderful.

Hybodie Rechargeable RIC Hearing Aids for Seniors: Lightweight Behind-The-Ear(BTE) Design with Digital Noise Cancellation I like the charging case. It's nice that it shows how much charge is left, and is very portable for those times where you may be spending a night or two in a hotel, but don't want to deal with cords and chargers. I like the separate controls. I didn't like the volume adjustment, because it is difficult to adjust while on my ears. Also, it doesn't show any numbers, or dots, or lines, so it is hard to be consistent with the volume. I could always hear myself much better than I could hear anything else. You aren't supposed to cover the microphone. That's very difficult to accomplish unless you have a buzz cut! These amplifiers are quite large compared to most hearing aids, and I don't like the fit behind my ear with glasses, however the domes fit nicely within my ears. I appreciated that they included various sizes of domes, although the attached ones were fine for me. Thank you for emphasizing that they are hearing amplifiers rather than hearing aids. (Except in the user info.) Bluetooth would be a nice addition at this price. The user guide said " Hearing aids should be sent to the fitting center for maintenance and inspection on a regular basis to ensure that the hearing aids are in good condition." This statement is vague. Yearly? Monthly? And what fitting center are they talking about? These are supposed to have noise cancellation, but I couldn't notice any at all. Noisey appliances like the AC were amplified not cancelled even a little. Overall, I'm just giving these amplifiers three stars, because they are just okay, but not great. ... show more

  • i like that they exist
First off, I am going to give a star solely because these exist. The hearing aid market is incredibly expensive and most insurance will not cover any of it. I have had good insurance and it has never covered my aids. My first pair in 2000 were 6k, and I had to buy one a year because of the price tag. I needed hearing aids for most of my life, but was over 30 before I could afford any. So this particular product is filling a need for many many people, in that it is inexpensive and while not great, does give some amplification. The documentation is very good. It covers almost everything I would expect, and more (gives a short description of the mechanics of the device and of how the brain adjusts to the new environment). The case is about twice the size of an AirPod case, but about the same weight. It is rechargeable. The recharge feature is awesome, as my regular aids are not and I go through so many batteries! The case has extra room for domes and filters or such. It recharges fast, in about 2 hours. The behind the ear part is pretty big, in my opinion. I include a picture with my regular pair for comparison. You can see it is 3 or 4x the size, but if you haven’t worn any before, you would not notice. They are light weight so not anymore heavy than mine. They do have to compete for real estate with glasses, masks, hats…so smaller is ideal, but again, for the price, these are workable. The color “nude” is not accurate…they are beige. Someone did not get the memo that it isn’t a color descriptor due to you know, it not being accurate for most people. The domes are comfortable as any I have ever used. There is no mention of the filter, which sits under the dome. It needs to be kept clear, otherwise you will think the aids are broken. You can clean with the brush provided, but eventually they should be replaced. These are compatible with my current brands filters and domes, so they are obtainable but not without research on what will work and where to get them. The actual operation is not to par with regular hearing aids. There is quite a bit more squealing and squeaking and howling, and the amplified sound does not sound natural. Think am radio compared to a record album. Too loud and it will sound like a tunnel. I was able to find a decent setting where sound was comfortably amplified. I like that the on/off, mode, and volume are 3 separate buttons. I found the volume hard to negotiate, it needs quite a bit of pressure to turn the wheel. The main selling point is that they are inexpensive amplifiers that will be better than having no amplification and more affordable than better options. ... show more

  • Two Ears Down!
Absolutely horrible. The sound was terrible, there is no app, no way to adjust any of the frequencies and honestly, we found these useless. Basically, all they are is an amplifier for your ears. Hard to believe that would be enough as it’s sure not one-size-fits-all when it comes to hearing aids. We’ve been wearing hearing aids here for six years so we certainly know how to use them. ... show more
