I am very hard of hearing. I have an audiologist fitted hearing aid. I was not happy with the hearing aid because of various issues. Most of all is the costs. $5,000 for hearing aid that does not work well is not comforting. Secondly audiologists are like used car salesman. They just want to sell me more and more expensive hearing aids. So I tried this product because of the features. I really like it. For $150 I can buy a lot of these instead of one set of $5,000 hearing aid. The volume adjustment on this device is way louder and better than my hearing aid. I can hear better. The remote microphone works extremely well when hooked up to my iPhone. It works wonderfully when plugged into the audio output of the TV. I can switch between the TV sound and the ambient sound by one click of the button. Yes it does amplify the high frequency sound. That's what sound amplifier does including the hearing aid. The real beauty of this device is in a restaurant. A typical hearing aid has not provision to cut down the ambient noise. So in a restaurant I cannot hear the person's conversation across the table. However with this device I can put the remove microphone anywhere on the table so I can hear the specific conversation. If necessary the remote microphone can be move around from person to person also. There are a couple of issues but none that are too bad. The micro phone on the neck unit is off to the left side so I have to be conscious to position that closer to the person speaking. That is when I am not using the remote microphone. The neck unit can get noisy when rubbing against clothing. I just wish there the software will allow the user to adjust their own frequency to amplify. Forget about any negative review! I have tried several hearing amplifiers and these are by far the runaway winner. I can't say enough good about about these. PLEASE GIVE THEM A TRY. I bought the extended warranty, but it would be worth it to spend $130 again and again if they crash and burn just to replace the things. I have custody of my 74YO older brother and we have both been so frustrated with his severe hearing loss. You have to know living with that problem, how it will elevate stress to both sides of the sound issue. I have dedicated an entire family room for him to watch TV, and through insulated door and walls I could hear every word and sound of his TV. He kept the volume at 40-50 level and he is so proud that he now has it down to 15. How can that even be possible? He gets choked up talking about it. He comes in and tells me that he can hear the light switch click, the rain falling, his cig. lighter click, the birds chirp, the door shut, the water running in the sink... This is the beginning of the first full day. He is only using the headset and not the TV adapter--I don't think he will need it at this point. He loves oldies music and he sits on the carport listening to our Amazon Tap, which you can hear clearly down the street according to my neighbor. I could hear every song and the lyrics from inside. Now I can't even hear that he has it on, neither the Tap or the TV and I have EXCELLENT hearing. This is truly a MIRACLE!! We can hardly believe it, and I know I am gushing on about it, but seriously, we are both so thrilled and we are smiling at each other instead of scowling. We can now have a real conversation instead of me yelling for him to hear me, avoiding speaking to him unless absolutely necessary, and frustration beyond belief for us both. PLEASE do yourself and your hearing impaired loved ones a huge favor and get these. It is so great to see him smiling again. This design is the best for my brother with the neckband and wired ear inserts, because the behind the ear and in the ear styles are very impractical for him. Not only did those types not work and were completely worthless, but I don't have to worry about the falling out and getting lost. He said they are very comfortable and the neck band is soft and pliable. I set the volume and showed him how to wear them. When the ear insert gets close to the little mic, it squeals feedback, but that is to be expected. He also used his phone with the earpiece in and there was a little feedback. So I explained that to him and now he knows to take the earpiece out while he is using his phone. GOD BLESS the one who designed this thing. I think it is officially the EARup brand and they make one for a little less without the TV adapter. I am tempted to buy 10 of these right now before they go away, but I don't see how that would happen because they are such a FINE product. PLEASE give this hearing amplifier a try. We could not afford the "real hearing aid" models, even with insurance coverage. This one is rechargeable and my hope is that the battery will last all day. Ordered for my 93 year old Mom who lost some hearing after a stroke. They are helping her talk to her family members on the phone! Still challenging but at least she is able to tell her kids she loves them and hear them on the other end of the phone. It’s a gift to our family to be able to talk to Mom again. ... show more

The headset works very well with the transmitter. It is great to watch TV. I do not like using it with out the little transmitter. Over all very satisfied for my purposes.

I bought this for my 90 year old mother who stopped using hearing aids and hated the pocket talker due to all the wires. Found this device and she loves it . she can walk around without wires hanging . She has lost her high pitch tones but can hear well with the device . I would recommend this due to hearing ability and transportability. It is chargeable so have to remember to do this .Thinks charge lasts 3.5 hours. No batteries. It has a microphone on device which works well as well as a remote microphone for tv use. She has not used this yet as she prefers to use CC on TV. We love the device because it works well and it just moves with her. ... show more

This product is hard to understand how it works. I've read the instructions several times and put them on my mother's ears. However, we both did not get it! It seems like it amplified her voice only and not the person talking to her. She still could not hear me, but her voice was loud and clear to her and I was not getting any loud conversation between us. I don't understand what the little box is for except to put it near the tv so it is amplified for her to hear? Can someone explain better than the video or I'll have to request a return. The price is too much to waste and not be useful to help my mother hear better. ... show more
