The media could not be loaded. UPDATE: 7/2/25 The box has exceeded my expectations in comparison to the LitterRobot3. Smell control is absolutely superior only giving a scent when the waste receptacle is full. I've been a cat owner for more than half my life and evolved from plastic boxes & scoopers to automatic sifters to high tech like this and Litter Robot. So, trust, when I praise odor control. The odor control gel is great. The sifter catches all little reminants. I highly recommend. Only wish I'd 1st seen the model that came with the air purifier. Reliable, quiet, clean & odor free. My cat became a little wary of the scooping automation after a few uses, but I adjusted the clean cycle to be delayed more. He isn't skiddish any longer and uses it without a thought. Original May 2025 So far so good. We had a LitterRobot3 since our car was a kitten, but in 5 years, we went through 2 boxes. With all the sensor malfunctions, I wanted to see if another auto litter box would suffice in the same or less price range. We were happy with the functions of our last box, so this one will take getting used to. This one seems to have more parts. This unit came assembled with little set up time and connecting to the app was easy. It rotates/ cleans litter upward, not sideways like LitterRobot. Will update my review after we see how things go. However, 1st day was a success. Uploading my cat's 1st use so others can see the unit size in comparison to my cat. So far, I like how quiet the unit is when it cleans.

I had the original PuraMax before my soul kitty passed, and I loved it! Extremely reliable, easy to use, and loved the app features. When I got my new kitty, I had to purchase a new self cleaning box as my PuraMax had been disposed of. At first, I went with another brand that I found on TikTok shop and it malfunctioned and left clumps of litter behind it. I just purchased the PuraMax 2 to replace the other brand. Now I remember how much I love this brand and design. The PuraMax 2 is even better than the first. It’s much quieter and faster than the original. I also love that the plastic sifting grates and the cleaning piece are magnetic so they easily stick together…the original cleaning piece was more difficult to put on. Overall, I’m happy with my purchase and have been recommending this box to many friends.

I bought the PETKIT PuraMax 2 because I’m a busy student working full time, and it’s been a relief to have the box clean itself reliably for my two cats. Setup took ~20 minutes, the unit feels durable, and it runs quietly—cycle noise doesn’t startle anyone. I really like the safety-first design: lots of sensors plus a top-opening empty cycle so the cat is never enclosed (huge peace of mind), and there’s a handy maintenance mode that holds the drum still so you can pour in fresh litter without a mess. The app is genuinely useful for monitoring “potties” and getting alerts, and the included odor packets let you test the deodorizer before buying refills. You can also schedule cleaning throughout the day or have it run on auto after every potty. The tradeoffs: it’s smaller than something like a Litter-Robot and the entry is narrower, so large cats or very shy/scared cats may struggle. It also took my cats a little time to transition to using it full time. If you have average-sized, moderately confident cats and want a quiet, sensor-heavy box with app monitoring, this is an excellent pick.

I recently had a bad fall and while in the hospital the first automatic cat box wasn’t cleaned or bag replaced properly. I ordered this one as a replacement. The setup was VERY EASY and the cleaning process is 100x easier to maintain. The cat started using immediately! It’s easy to pour the litter in the top (we were using a plastic container to toss it in previously). When able I will put the other box upstairs as a backup. The deodorizer is not offensive. The App is very easy to use. Highly recommend. There is a video (10+ minutes) that I viewed prior to purchase and it helped me decide.

I think this may be my most regretted purchase. Initially when I set it up, it was working great and I loved not having to scoop my cat’s litterbox everyday. A couple of months in, the sensor started acting wonky and it did not detect that my cat had used the litterbox. That was fine, I just manually asked it to clean. Soon after, it would stop cleaning midway because it said my cat was approaching the litterbox or that the toilet was in use (my cat was nowhere near the litterbox). I had to run the manual clean AND make sure I was nearby to override the pause when it said the litterbox was in use. THEN it started malfunctioning when I would try to empty the litter and clean it. In addition to this the puramax air spray that was supposed to go off (and the main reason I selected this product over others) stopped working automatically after about 4 months. All this to say, this product does not hold up well over time and is definitely not worth the almost $400 I spent on it.

Have had this litter box since May. So far, it has been fantastic. It is surprisingly easy to clean, and certainly has helped with the odor control. One of my cats is blind, and she has had no issue using it. The sensor is very sensitive to movement and has not given my any reason to worry about my cats getting caught. It scoops well, and the app is functional and easy to use. It is large and a little bulky but overall I have been very pleased with this product. We'll see how it goes from here. I have two cats and have to empty the catch bin every 5-6 days. I use a lightweight clumping litter and have had no problems with it.
