Last Update... This is a keeper.. I tried other litter boxes & had issues with several.. The only issue so far was the time the network went down but it came back up in a day or two... The box worked fine during the outage, just had to manually 'flush the toilet'.. Def keeping this one & might even buy a 2nd one.. We have 4 cats & they use it all the time but still use the metal litter box about half the time, also.. If I had 2, I would get rid of the metal box totally, but until then, it's half & half.. Have considered getting a different style self cleaning litter box just for the cats to have options, like a closed system.. That being said, I like this one enough to just have 2 of them & I know all of my cats will use them.. It's hard to fix something that's not broken, so will probably stick with what I know works.. Update... Obviously Meowant network was just down all day.. The app just came back & with all the info & customer service let me know they updated their app.. It was after the fact but at least I know it isn't an issue with the box itself.. I wanted to dislike this cat litter box, plus it's my 2nd attempt at a self cleaning litter box (had to return an open top - brand).. I have to say this litter box is growing on me.. Out of the box it was super simple to set up, connect to my wifi, & work the app.. I typically use Clumping Cat Litter which works well in this machine.. When adding litter to the pan, if you put too much in it, the machine will dump the excess right in to the trash can (litter recepticale) during the first cleaning cycle.. My little explorer black cat, jumped tight in & took to it immediately & uses nothing else.. Two of my other cats have started using this automatic box about half of the time & are definitely warming up to it.. So far, I have not had a single issue of this box locking up, freezing up or any other major issues with the cleaning cycle &/or the basic workings of the Meowant Litter box.. There is an issue, which I contacted the company about (and most other reviews discuss) which is the weighing feature/the scale, it is terrible (totally inaccurate).. This self cleaning litter box adds 4-5 lbs per cat & does it every single use.. I literally had 2 of my cats weighed the day before I received this box & it's not even close to their true weight.. For me personally, I find this frustrating & the reason is, during the setup, the app asks you to set up cat PROFILES, and it asks for a Pic, Weight, DOB, etc... If the weight measurement was a deal breaker for me personally, then this litter box would have already been returned.. Another minor issue, I discovered, is the litter screen does not stay all the way back, out of the way once in the resting position (after a cleaning cycle is completed) so I just reach in & push it back myself.. One other little issue is, once the garbage receptacle gets over half full, it can dump some litter back in to the box if not emptied.. Although, this is a typical drawback of most self cleaning litter boxes that do not have the litter receptacle under the bottom of the drum.. That being said, believe it or not, so far this box has performed better than I expected.. I would gladly give this litter box 5 stars if these minors issues were, or are corrected in the future.. I have a friend waiting to purchase a self cleaning litter box from Amazon & is waiting for my recommendation.. I'm on the fence, I do recommend the Meowant self cleaning litter box overall.. However, the minor issues might or might not be a deal breaker for her & others, but not hearing back from the company at all could be the nail in the coffin.. Personally I plan on keeping this self cleaning Litterbox for the foreseeable future..

After using this product for about 8 months now, I am beyond impressed and pleased with the purchase. I read all the reviews while considering which auto box to buy and this one was a little scary I won’t lie. But with 4 cats using it every day, and so much so that we got rid of our other boxes due to them not being used at all, this has held up amazingly!! I have to change the bag every 2ish days, but again, that with 4 adult cats using JUST this box, and I’d MUCH prefer simply changing a bag than sitting and scooping. It’s significantly easier and saves lots of time. I’ve noticed 0 leaking at all, and the litter tracking I find no worse than my other traditional boxes. I do notice this box does get pretty dirty pretty fast, but for the third time I have 4 cats using it. So we take it apart and clean it about once a month as well. But to me, this is no different than a traditional box. The sensor is great as well. Almost annoyingly, lol. Any even SLIGHT pressure anywhere on the box and it stops immediately. I also chose this one because there’s simply no way for a kitty to get trapped in it even if that sensor were to fail. But we haven’t seen that!! The app also notifies you if there’s any issues. We moved it once and after doing so apparently messed up the side clamp. The app immediately notified me something and what exactly was wrong. Overall this was an awesome purchase and we’ll be absolutely getting another when we have the space. The ONLY gripe I have is the app. It’s not very smooth to use, you can’t name the boxes (so if you were to have two how would you know which is which), and unless you know your cats EXACT weight it’s tough to really keep track. I have two who are just .2 lbs off from each other and it always mixes those up. But that’s the ONLY downside.

Okay, so I've had this thing for about eight months now, which I feel is enough time to review the product. I have had multiple times of self cleaning litter boxes, so believe me when I say this is not my first rodeo with these machines; including the well known brand name one. Now for the honest answer... Pros: > It truly is self cleaning, the cat goes in and in 3 min it cleans it self. You can set the timer for a sooner clean > It is made of all plastic, however it comes. apart easily enough to clean which is helpful > Disposable bags for easy throw away > The cat little gets dumped in the back not the bottom, which to me makes an easier clean up and change of the bag > It has an app, and you can set the app to auto clean and weighing your cat(s). It will alert your phone how much they use it and if you set it lbs by cat you can see who is using the bathroom the most and their weight loss/gain. I feel like this feature is great for cat health. > Works with any scoopable litter Cons: > Like most self cleaning litters it can be finicky as for cleaning and poop can get stuck to the sides > I have three cats, and the chamber fills up every 2 days - not long lasting > It does not tell you the chamber is full, so you need to be adamant about checking it > Special bags are needed for the cleaning chamber, however I found some generic ones on amazon that were much cheaper than Meowants and came in a pack of 100. > When the electricity goes out, so does the litter. Keep that in mind Hope this helps!

The good: the litter box is nice and quiet, uses less litter, and it’s easy for my senior cat to use. My teenager likes how easy it is to change the bag when it’s full. The bad: The 3 foot power cord is way too short. If your litter box isn’t right next to an outlet, you’re hosed. I had to special order a six foot cord with Alexa’s help to find a compatible power adapter. The ugly: the cat litter I can buy locally (Tidy Cats) works in the little box, but it leaves skid mark as it rolls to the bin. It’s gross. In future models, Meowant should replace the gray plastic piece inside the bin with stainless steel. I really don’t want to order the expensive tofu litter, and I shouldn’t have to, if I want to keep the box looking clean and skid free. Last ugly: the white litter box shows EVERYTHING. I do mean everything; dust, skid marks, random bits where your cat tries to bury their poo. I’m half tempted to roll up to my local hardware store and buy a can of spray paint so I can paint the drum black. I see a white box and I want to paint it black! No skid marks anymore, I want to paint it black. (If you sang that with me, you’re my kind of people whose life is a Glee episode and your OCD hates how easily it gets dirty.) If you don’t mind my issues, by all means, get this. It works great. It just looks bad and isn’t practical straight out of the box.

I BOUGHT A SECOND ONE! I had originally purchased a different self cleaning litter box but my cats weren't using it because the opening was higher off the ground and small. I found the Meowant and was hopeful the bigger opening would work for my 4 cats. I can FINALLY count myself as out of a litter box cleaning job! This litter box is perfect and literally changed my life! My cats used it instantly and now it's like their favorite pastime! Setup: The Meowant self cleaning litter box was by far, one of the easiest set ups that I've experienced! I was surprised! I could probably get by with just 1 of these for ALL of my cats, but I went ahead and bought a second one. The unit is very quiet. You can set the time to clean after each use. Out of the box, it cleans immediately after a cat uses it. This can easily be changed. I didn't want to scare some of my scaredy cats so I changed it to 5 minutes. It also comes with a wonderful mat that is not only wide enough but has holes deep enough to catch litter. I appreciate the notifications I get with weights on each cat. This helped me verify they were all using it. You can also add your cat's picture to their profile. I would 10/10 recommend this item a hundred times over!

This is our first automatic litter box after doing lots of research and comparisons and decided on this one from good reviews and reasonable price point (there was a coupon at time of purchase). It took a few days to get used to and kitty is good with it now. Setup and connecting to the mobile app were simple, functionality is straightforward and it works as described. We use an environmentally friendly crushed corn cob litter which is dust free and anything that is tracked out stays on the included 2-layered rubber bottom mat with filtering layer on top. Clumped waste is rolled into the collection bin and easily lifted out tied up for disposal. Deodorizer works well, and it is super quiet. Haven’t had to do a deep cleaning yet but so far so good. Very satisfied with this litter box.

I really wanted this to work. The unit is very quiet, looks great, and was easy to set up. I also appreciated being able to adjust the delay before the cleaning cycle starts after the weight sensor is triggered. The challenge has been getting my cats to consistently use it. One of my medium-sized domestic shorthairs seems uncomfortable with the enclosed design and has stopped using it altogether. My other cat has become fascinated by the cleaning cycle. Several times a day she'll put her front paws on the entrance, sniff around for less than a minute, then step back and wait, watching for it to start spinning. Even after extending the cleaning delay to 10 minutes, she still seems more interested in seeing it move than actually using it. What makes this especially disappointing is that both cats appeared to adapt to it during the first few days, so I thought the transition was going well. Unfortunately, that was very short-lived, and it has become an expensive piece of equipment that isn't serving its intended purpose in my home. The product itself is quiet, and appears well made. I can't really confiem that though, since we aren't really getting the full experience of it. If your cat is sensitive to enclosed spaces or is easily distracted by the automatic movement, that may be something to consider before investing in it.

I have this for about 4 months now. Mostly satisfied with the dust and odor control and general cleanliness. I have major issues with the size and auto-cleaning functionality and non-existent customer service. My 6-year-old cat missed her old, wide-open litter box and took more than a month to even try a new one. She is only 8-lb but long-haired and fluffy. She can't fit in this box comfortably, and typically uses the walls to relieve herself, leaving sticky clumps that won't go away even with shake mode. I end up cleaning daily to avoid her bringing wet litter clumps back into the living room. (BTW, shake mode is only a name sake as it doesn't add much force to the rotation). It cleans the solid waste well, although they also get stuck to the filtering gate on occasion. The app works fine, and I use it for notifications and remote cleaning. The help feature and customer service are non-responsive.
