I BOUGHT A SECOND ONE! I had originally purchased a different self cleaning litter box but my cats weren't using it because the opening was higher off the ground and small. I found the Meowant and was hopeful the bigger opening would work for my 4 cats. I can FINALLY count myself as out of a litter box cleaning job! This litter box is perfect and literally changed my life! My cats used it instantly and now it's like their favorite pastime! Setup: The Meowant self cleaning litter box was by far, one of the easiest set ups that I've experienced! I was surprised! I could probably get by with just 1 of these for ALL of my cats, but I went ahead and bought a second one. The unit is very quiet. You can set the time to clean after each use. Out of the box, it cleans immediately after a cat uses it. This can easily be changed. I didn't want to scare some of my scaredy cats so I changed it to 5 minutes. It also comes with a wonderful mat that is not only wide enough but has holes deep enough to catch litter. I appreciate the notifications I get with weights on each cat. This helped me verify they were all using it. You can also add your cat's picture to their profile. I would 10/10 recommend this item a hundred times over!

Okay, so I've had this thing for about eight months now, which I feel is enough time to review the product. I have had multiple times of self cleaning litter boxes, so believe me when I say this is not my first rodeo with these machines; including the well known brand name one. Now for the honest answer... Pros: > It truly is self cleaning, the cat goes in and in 3 min it cleans it self. You can set the timer for a sooner clean > It is made of all plastic, however it comes. apart easily enough to clean which is helpful > Disposable bags for easy throw away > The cat little gets dumped in the back not the bottom, which to me makes an easier clean up and change of the bag > It has an app, and you can set the app to auto clean and weighing your cat(s). It will alert your phone how much they use it and if you set it lbs by cat you can see who is using the bathroom the most and their weight loss/gain. I feel like this feature is great for cat health. > Works with any scoopable litter Cons: > Like most self cleaning litters it can be finicky as for cleaning and poop can get stuck to the sides > I have three cats, and the chamber fills up every 2 days - not long lasting > It does not tell you the chamber is full, so you need to be adamant about checking it > Special bags are needed for the cleaning chamber, however I found some generic ones on amazon that were much cheaper than Meowants and came in a pack of 100. > When the electricity goes out, so does the litter. Keep that in mind Hope this helps!

This is our first automatic litter box after doing lots of research and comparisons and decided on this one from good reviews and reasonable price point (there was a coupon at time of purchase). It took a few days to get used to and kitty is good with it now. Setup and connecting to the mobile app were simple, functionality is straightforward and it works as described. We use an environmentally friendly crushed corn cob litter which is dust free and anything that is tracked out stays on the included 2-layered rubber bottom mat with filtering layer on top. Clumped waste is rolled into the collection bin and easily lifted out tied up for disposal. Deodorizer works well, and it is super quiet. Haven’t had to do a deep cleaning yet but so far so good. Very satisfied with this litter box.

I got this litter box to replace a different self-cleaning box we had that had broken. There were some things about our last one that I knew I didn't like & I thought this one would be a better option. We have 3 cats, so 2 boxes are necessary. I had 2 identical boxes, but when one of them broke I replaced it with this. It was super-easy to put together & get it up & running. The app was also pretty easy to set up. One of my cats wanted to start using it before I was even done setting it up & within 24 hours they were all using it in addition to our other box. One of the reasons I chose this box was the waste container. I have really bad rhumatoid (inflammatory) arthritis in my hands & fingers. Our other litter box requires me to do some crazy finger gymnastics to get the bags into & out of the waste collection areas & I just can't do it anymore. So when I saw that this one had what looks like a garbage can that I just smooth the bag into, I was really excited. It IS very easy to empty & reset. The problem is that it's very small & I have to empty it in less than 24 hours. My other box can go nearly a week between bag changes. I realize we've got 3 cats, but we had 3 cats with the other one as well. And the ad made it seem like the app would notify me when the bag needed to be changed. But it doesn't. The biggest issue I have with it, however, is that when the drum spins to clean the box, I end up with clumps of litter stuck to the back of the drum. Sometimes it's clumps of pee, sometimes it's clumps of poop. At first I thought it didn't have enough time between the cat leaving the box & the cleaning cycle beginning, even though my other box is set for the exact same time (3 mins). So I opened the app & changed the time. So far we're up to 7 minutes & yet I'm still having the same issue. (Please enjoy my beautiful picture). There is more smell than with my other box, but I think that's probably because I've got clumps of litter stuck to the back side of my box. It's only been a few days, so I'm still willing to wait & see. But if things don't improve I will DEFINATELY be sending this back before it's too late for a refund.

I would give it five stars if my larger cat wasn’t terrified of it to the point of not using it. It’s a great litter box don’t get me wrong, easy to clean, built well, looks as advertised, and it didn’t come with weird smells or anything like that. It works great with my smaller 10lb female cat that we’re trying to get to lose a few pounds, but her brother who’s about 14lbs is terrified because he barely fits in it. I bought this especially for him because he will poop on the ground in the bathroom, or on my mother in laws bed, if the litter box is even slightly unclean, but he refuses to even enter the litter box, now pooping on the mat in front of it. This litter box advertises that’s it’s made with larger cats, even those weighing up to 22lbs, in mind but I’ve found that couldn’t be further from the truth, Nugget, my 14lb boy cat, isn’t a Mainecoon or anything like that, he’s just an American Short Hair with FIV that causes him to have issues with weight gain, and he takes up the whole litter box when placed inside. It’s a 5 star product if your cat is on the smaller end of the spectrum, but if your cat is any larger 10 lbs good luck getting them to go inside this tiny contraption. I wish they had made it bigger, I don’t think the people that made this have any clue how big a 22lb cat is, if a 14lb cat doesn’t have room to turn around or cover his litter. Edit: My large cat has started using it. Still wish it was a little bigger but it’s better now that he’s actually using it.

I have this for about 4 months now. Mostly satisfied with the dust and odor control and general cleanliness. I have major issues with the size and auto-cleaning functionality and non-existent customer service. My 6-year-old cat missed her old, wide-open litter box and took more than a month to even try a new one. She is only 8-lb but long-haired and fluffy. She can't fit in this box comfortably, and typically uses the walls to relieve herself, leaving sticky clumps that won't go away even with shake mode. I end up cleaning daily to avoid her bringing wet litter clumps back into the living room. (BTW, shake mode is only a name sake as it doesn't add much force to the rotation). It cleans the solid waste well, although they also get stuck to the filtering gate on occasion. The app works fine, and I use it for notifications and remote cleaning. The help feature and customer service are non-responsive.

Overall great, and nice improvement over the side-rotating version. At first I thought manually putting in the guard for complete litter emptying would be a pain but it’s really not a bing deal and not part of daily use. Pros: + Can accommodate long-grain soy litter + relatively non-claustrophobic + compact footprint + Reliable/simple to use + integrated scale + includes the great option to automatically pause a moment mid roll in the cleaning cycle to allow longer grain cat litter to filter out. The app and Wi-Fi connectivity work fine. Cons: - large gaps in litter mesh, while good for long grain litter, can keep smaller chunks of waste from being disposed of - struggles to differentiate cats of similar weights - cats that like to face in may struggle a bit: while spacious, it’s a shallower design in the z axis - mesh flap hangs reducing available litter footprint by a couple inches (see hack below) Wish list: - option for camera to monitor cat health/ verify identity - option in app to assign cats to devices in multi device households: we have one elderly cat with special needs that only uses one litter box. She’s a similar weight to another cat, but there’s no way to tell the app cat A only ever uses litter box A and cat B only ever uses litter box B so it easily gets them mixed up. - magnet or similar to keep mesh flap more out of the way when knot in a cleaning cycle Tips: • Need about 1ft clearance above the litter to access the rear hatch without moving the litter box • always use the “leveling” option after any manual scooping or topping off of litter to reset scale • if your cats are new to automatic litter boxes, try not using any auto cleaning foot a few days until they’ve taken to it. • glue a magnet behind the mesh flap and putt a paper clip or washer on the Mesh to keep it out of your cats way after a cleaning cycle. Overall a great addition for our multi cat household. Automatic litter boxes are not about lazy humans but rather keeping things clean when we’re not there to scoop! With this we’ve been able to scale down from 3 litter boxes for three cats to two (a fabreeze style pee pad system and this) the cats generally prefer the meowant, especially for no.2. With three cats using mostly the one litter box, the bag needs replacing every day or two.
