Followed directions and it installs as described. There are several adjustments required to fit your specific needs and this makes it complicated but doable without special tools. Easier with two people and some experience assembling projects. Looks good for the price, I would caution against installing in areas prone to high winds as that would require more stable pole mounts. But it’s sturdy enough for normal backyard use.

The instructions are very clear and easy to follow; however, the cranking mechanism was illustrated on the wrong side of the awning. Before you get too far along in the assembly process be sure that the cranking mechanism in your kit is for left or right side of awning, All is well now. I disassembled and reassembled in the opposite direction. My only frustration is that I had to do this a second time because the instructions were written backward and it is very hot out there. I am mechanically inclined, and therefore common sense ruled the day! However, other customers may find this very frustrating. When helping customers in the future, you may want to begin with the Cranking mechanism could possibly be intended for the left-hand side instead of the right hand side of the awning. This means that the awning polls should be in the order J3J2J1 from left to right so that the rod that connects to the cranking mechanism will be on the left-hand side also. I do like this product so far. Only time will tell if it will work in my favor. I’m hoping that it is an inexpensive solution for the hot sun on the backside of my house. If so, I plan to purchase additional awnings. Hope this helps other customers as well.

Good alternative to a permanent fixture. We didn't want to commit to a permanent awning attached to the exterior, so this was a great option. Really easy to assemble, instructions are only pictures.

It was a tricky install for 1 person. I had to figure out a few problems I ran into, it's up. But I will put it down when I'm nor using the studio.( it's installed on studio that gets too much sun) . I don't think it would withstand strong wind, and we do get some serious winds here .

The media could not be loaded. I was looking for something to provide shade and some rain protection over my grill table. This item worked out perfectly for my current needs. It actually was much easier to put together and install than was suggested in reviews of similar products. Took me about 15 minutes to put the whole thing together.

I am a 60 year old woman, and was able to put this together and get it up without any help. It is perfect for my back porch in front of the sliding glass doors which gets the afternoon/evening sun. I hate blackout curtains because I still want to see outside and this allows for a view as well as shade.
