  • Light plastic
Size: 40x80 Inch Color: Clear Board & Black Bracket
overall it looks like good quality. One drawback is that the roof panels come in four pieces instead of two, which makes installation a little less convenient. Also, don’t let the strong sun beat directly on it for too long—I live in Florida, and the intense sun can cause holes to form within just a few months. I would suggest painting it with a good exterior latex paint to help protect it and make it last longer. Other than that, it’s a good product. ... show more

  • Good enough for now.
Not bad for the price. The plastic panels are fairly lightweight and don't seem like they'll be durable for years to come. The brackets are just plastic as well. When we get a hard rain the water actually gets inside the ribs of the panels. If that freezes... well, they'll just split right open. Anyway, it wasn't hard to assemble, just a little awkward holding everything up until you screw it in. It looks as pictured and keeps the rain off my door, so pretty ok for now. We'll see how they hold up in winter. ... show more

  • Unbeatable Price, Easy Install, and Looks Amazing!
Size: 40x80 Inch Color: Clear Board & Black Bracket
These exterior door awnings were super easy to install, sturdier than my husband and I thought they would be at this price, and look fantastic on the house—my neighbors keep asking where I got them! They do a great job keeping the rain out and providing sun protection. Pro Tip: I added silicone sealant all around the top and side edges where the awning meets the house siding to prevent any water from sneaking behind it. It works flawlessly with zero leaks! You really can’t beat the quality for this price. ... show more

  • Piece of JUNK
Size: 35x115 Inch Color: Brown Board & Black Bracket
Where do I start? This is a piece of flimsy corrugated plastic, flimsier than a yard sign, to give a comparison. That piece of plastic bends into two metal pieces, which then barely -barely!, fit into a plastic frame, with zero support for the multiple pieces and no way to use the longer screw attached to secure it. The tiny self-tightening screws do NOT provide nearly enough strength. Then, if you somehow manage to screw the three panels together, you’ve got yourself a super-light, flimsy as heck piece of 110 inch-long flailing plastic, which then you are somehow supposed to lift and attach above the windows/doors. Absolutely no way, absolutely would not last even if you managed to keep it together and attach it. Do not buy, or return before you open the package. Absolutely not worth the price, however inexpensive it may appear. It is cheap for a reason. ... show more

  • More difficult than I expected
Size: 40x40 Inch Color: Clear Board & Black Bracket
I had a mini-split installed a few months ago. Our installed said it was fine to leave uncovered, but I was concerned about the pipes coming out of the back of the unit. It did tell us that some people build little "dog houses" over them (which was not really possible because of our window). Thought a window awning would protect that end of the unit. This was one of the least expensive, of the size that I needed. Would look a bit strange, but hope to plant some bushes in front of this unit, so really looking for practical. I am a pretty handy guy, built a house about 20 years ago. Not an expert, but usually can build or fix things around the house. This it lightweight, it is all plastic, except for an aluminum top and bottom rail. Assembly was confusing. All parts have letters assigned in the instructions, so say things like "Connect the accessory E into the accessory B become J" and then, of course, next you connect I to the J to become K. There are pictures, but hard to tell if this piece slides in this slot or not. Once it is all together, then you have to add screws. My advice at that point it to get a drill, and use that to start the short screws (this will make sense of you buy this product, self tapping screws into a round piece of aluminum. Once outside they come with "screwset" to install to the house. These did not work for me. I think they are supposed to expand, like an anchor. They didn't, they just expanded enough to prevent me from removing them, but didn't hold the canopy tight. Finally, admitting defeat, I used a piece of wood to hold it against the house (old piece of hardwood flooring, with long desk screws). It works, and will protect that end of my heat pump. Time to build and install was about 4 hours (did break for lunch, and a walk while my drill battery charged). Took three people, my wife holding it together as I drilled and screwed it all together, and then my son holding one side as I tried to attach to the outside wall of my house. So why 3 stars? I don't know if there are any easier to assembly and install products available. It is installed on my house, it is strong enough that it should work. I think if I had been able to replace the "screwsets" with some regular anchors or carriage bolts, it would have pulled in tighter to the house. So not a bad product, just not clear, easy to follow instructions, and horrible installation screws. ... show more

  • Does the job
I’ve had this for about 12 years now. Bought it to protect a 18,000 BTU Split Air A\C mounted on side of house . It has done the job well and still holding up to extreme heat ( summers over 100 most days) and torrential rains . Good value & quality.

  • A lot sturdier than it looks
Size: 40x80 Inch Color: Clear Board & Grey Bracket
First: the product. Exactly as described and pictured. Super easy to assemble. The panels seem kinda flimsy at first, but after everything is assembled it’s sturdy. Second: installation. A nightmare. Truly awful. I can’t honestly blame the nightmare installation on the product. I’m assuming any other awning would be this bad. Some advice: don’t count on the installation hardware that comes with the awning. It was complicated and didn’t come with any instructions. I had to look it up on YouTube. The other problem is the awning’s arches. The little decorations inside the support arches which I’m assuming are structurally important make it hard to attach the awning to the wall. A drill, hammer, screwdriver…none of it will fit. The top hole is covered by one of those decorations on the arch, so only a tool with small clearance will work. For example, you can use a simple hand wrench because it turns flat, parallel to the wall. But you can’t use a screwdriver because the handle comes away from the hole and turns perpendicular to the wall. So before you start with this project I highly recommend you make a plan about what hardware to use to attach it to your building. Keep in mind that you will not have any tools clearance for those top holes. Good luck! On the plus side, I put this awning through a ton of abuse trying to get it up and it is definitely more sturdy than it looks. I even had to skip one of the holes, so the whole thing sags. But we’ve had some big storms and it doesn’t budge even with the uneven way it hangs. The panels are a bit hollow so it makes some noise when it rains. If that is a concern for you then be aware. It is louder than the sound rain makes on my car roof when I’m inside the car but not tin roof loud. I’d say it’s more like rain on a plastic umbrella. ... show more
