This is probably the best item that I have purchased from Amazon in a while. I did a lot of research before I purchased this umbrella because I don’t like to waste money and haven’t been too pleased with Amazon and my other recent purchases. The price was reasonable and so far the quality has been really good. Pay attention to the reviews and utilize the tips that folks share. For example YOU MUST BUY A WEIGHTED BASE. This umbrella will not stand up in its own. I bought a weighted base from the same company BCP, purchased 4 bags of the the “Play Sand” used for children sand boxes from Home Depot and a funnel. You will have a little sand left over which is fine and the funnel is a must to help shorten the time it takes to fill each square weighted base section. Make sure that you know exactly where you want the bases to go BEFORE you put the sand in because once they are filled will sand they are at least 50 pounds and are very heavy to move. Once you get the weighted base in position put the umbrella together and position the weighted base around the base of the umbrella adding the silver anchors to the base and you are done! I e left the umbrella open for several hours during the day to enjoy our deck at night and it was beautiful! We keep and eye on the weather and close the umbrella during windy days etc. One thing to note is that our order for the umbrella and the base came in two shipments about a day or so apart but only one tracking number was provided for both items and no indication was given that the order would be shipped separately by two different carriers. I called Amazon but they were no help. I called the BCP customer support line and the customer service team was awesome! They gave me the other tracking number and I was able to confirm the order would actually be delivered that same day. I was very glad to get both items in time. ... show more

You need a base for sure. If you use it on the grass it comes with hooks but they won’t hold it down if the wind is strong. You could screw it into a deck (the stand has holes) I just put it in the base that I had from my old umbrella. For $100 if it lasts one full summer it will be worth it. I paid $500 for one and the interior string broke after 3 years and I couldn’t fix it. The wind moves this one around and it doesn’t rotate so that’s a downside. ... show more

I put it up and used 2 of the 4 foot braces to see how it would hold up and the first wind gust tipped it over. I put all foot braces down and the umbrella top moves quite a bit but the base hasn't moved. It would be best to screw the base in place and have no worries. My umbrella unfortunately had a string of lights that didn't work but customer service was very nice and sent a replacement umbrella out free of charge. All in all I would recommend this because it is very large, covers a lot of space and looks great at night. Would also recommend the clip on light that is sold separately. ... show more

I bought this 10' umbrella for my back deck to use while grilling. This is the 3rd umbrella I've bought for this purpose in the last 10 years and they serve there propose for the price. This particular umbrella is a little lighter weight than the last 2 I bought, so I'm not sure how it will do on breezy days. Umbrella itself is very nice. Beware all the components on the umbrella poles are plastic with aluminum riviots. Right out of the box the lever that holds the umbrella in place doesn't provide a strong enough clamp to keep the umbrella from rotating when ever there is a slight breeze. The crank for the umbrella is also very hard to crank out the last 6 turns to get it in full open position. I also did not receive a solar light with my order either. Update......the seller sent out a new umbrella to replace the one that didn't have solar panal. Great customer service! ... show more

I like d the fact that is big enough to cover our seating area, the color Blue is perfect! the only flaw it is not sturdy and clamps will not hold it up alone, we had to used left over pavers we had in storage too hold up! it’s very heavy, over all satisfied with the price! hopefully it will hold up! ... show more
