    • Great Investment
OK, I have some pretty bad hearing loss. Some of it is genetic, some of it is environmental. This past spring, about 3 months prior to my mothers passing, I bought her a set of hearing aids. She was very hard of hearing. I spent $6,000 for a top of the line pair. They were custom fit for her, but sadly, she never had the opportunity to use them. Now, with me losing my hearing at at alarming rate, and not having another 6 grand laying around, I have the option of taking the set I bought her and having them re-fit for my own use. It's not a very complicated process, but like anything else in the medical community, it's going to be very expensive. I believe I was quoted almost a thousand dollars to refit them...even though they were never used. Now, that's a buttload cheaper than 6g's but it's still expensive...and I don't even know if they will help me hear any better. So, I figured I would try and find an inexpensive set of hearing aids and wear them for a while. First to get used to them, and secondly to see if they actually help me. IF, and I mean IF they work out well enough, and don't drive me insane, I will spend the money and get the others fitted properly. Well I have to say that thus far, this is one of the better decisions I have made. These things are (as much as I can tell) about as professional and [premium a set of hearing aids as the ones I have to re-fit. They provide very clear sound, are rechargeable, easy to wear and remove, and fully adjustable for volume and fitment. Yes...it's going to take a while to get used to hearing your own voice in them....you sound very muffled to yourself, but I think that once you get used to them, and figure out what volume level you need, that will be a non-issue. My hearing loss is mostly affecting one of my ears, so I might try wearing only the one side and seeing how that goes. I can wear both sides if I need to, but I don't want to do anything that might be more harmful than beneficial. What's really cool is that the storage case is not only a charger, but a battery supply, and you get an additional 2 charges out of it...even when not plugged in. Just drop them back into the case and you will see the lights indicate what level of charge they have. This is SUPER convenient if you don't have an outlet readily available.     • Inexpensive and convenient
I ordered these because I am a flight attendant and when on the airplane in the aisle there is a lot of extra noise near the ceiling on certain aircraft, and I thought they would help hear the customers better. These took a while to set up and I hear some background noise - a swishing sound - when I put them in my ears. They do, however, amplify the sounds around me, which is what I wanted. You must use a small screwdriver to change the volume settings, which is a bit of a pain, but it works. They also show in the ears, which is expected, but the part that shows isn't particularly pretty. As I use them on different aircraft, I will update this review; it may be that with experience using them, my opinion may change to be more positive. ... show more

This is a Set of Rechargeable Noise Canceling Hearing Aids. They are well made, easy to use & do a good job at what they are made for. The only thing that I don’t really like is how you have to use a screwdriver to adjust the volume but its Not a deal breaker. An easier way would be good.     • work good but can be difficult to adjust
If you are looking for an inexpensive way to boost your hearing, these work pretty good. They amplify sound well, but they also amplify the background noise, which can be distracting. For example, you can hear talking through an office door. Typically muffled, but if there is nearby talking or noise these will amplify it. Changing the volume for setup isn't real user friendly. You have to remove the ear pieces, use a screwdriver to open them up, change the volume, close them back up, and then test your change. Not something you're going to be changing often, but for the price of these it is probably worth the hassle ... show more
