Overall these have worked very well. Despite what you may have read in other reviews, there is a simple solution that the enclosed booklet does not address very well. If you are getting squealing feedback you are probably using the wrong domes. The Neo XS comes with three size of domes. They come fitted for the medium size which is what I first used. While they felt comfortable, as soon as I started increasing the volume I would get an annoying squeal. I was almost ready to give up on them when I decided to use a lager size dome included in the box mostly fixed the problem. A small adjustment I figured out was that if you push it in a bit more than comfortable and then pull it slightly out just a bit, it makes a better seal and stops the feedback from the outer microphone to the inner speaker that causes the problem. As I wore them over time, I now use them on volume level seven without any annoying feedback You can buy replacement domes from MD Hearing, however they are over priced compared to other domes. Unfortunately they are quite specialized and I have not been able to find them on Amazon or from any other source. The same is true with the wax guards which seem somewhat overpriced. Customer service at MD Hearing is a mixed bag. When you reach someone, they can be quite helpful. My right hearing aid developed an annoying static hum. The company quickly sent a replacement which worked fine. While I did get good service, their call tree for customer assistance is slow and tedious. It takes a long time to get through as they seem understaffed. I chose not to buy the MDShield Protection Plan. It would cover most problem you might encounter with a "free" repair or replacement. They advertise it for $12 on sale, however what they don't tell you unless you wade through the aforementioned irritating phone tree to customer service is that the payment is $12 per month. At that price, you would more than pay for a replacement in less than a year. You are better off saving your money and just buy a replacement from Amazon. As prices of these OTC hearing aids keeps dropping, you'd probably save money. Having said all that, the Neo XS is a good reliable hearing aid, but customer service need some work. Because of the price and quality, I gave the product 5 stars despite customer service and price of accessories. I had these hearing aids for just over a year as I revise my review. The hearing aids malfunctioned twice during the 1 year warranty period and the company replaced them efficiently both times. As I mentioned previously I feel the warranty was much too expensive and I did not purchase it. Also required accessories like wax guards and domes are overpriced. At just over a week after the warranty period ended the left unit died. I chose to buy a different model from Hearivo which is also sold on Amazon. The sound quality is so much better on this competing device and it has many more features. I didn't realize how flat the quality of the Neo XS was until I purchased a different brand. In the end, these were pretty good for a very small unit, but a slightly bigger unit has better sound and many more features. It's not a bad item but other seem to be better a year later.

Very comfortable for small ear canals I use the small dome covers that came in the box. They have the medium dome covers on when you get them but the small ones are more convenient for my small ear canals. The hearing is great with them read your manual and go buy the settings they suggested and they will work perfect. So glad I found these.

My husband needed hearing aids and asked me to order these for him, despite me warning him about the negative reviews. First off, they are very compact and come with several sizes of domes. There's a tiny button on each hearing aid that you can use to adjust volume and environment. Making adjustments was pretty easy but that button was tiny! For my husband it was difficult to find and he struggled with making adjustments. This was just a minor inconvenience, though. The worst part of these hearing aids was the screeching/whistling. We tried changing dome sizes, tried repositioning the hearing aids in the ear, tried adjusting the volume/environment, contacted MD hearing for assistance and nothing worked to stop the screeching. The screeching was so loud and persistent that I was able to hear it from across the room. The hearing aids were quiet as long as my husband sat still and didn't move his head or mouth. He did mention that they did help him hear better when they weren't screeching. We returned them after about 28 days. There's still some work the company needs to do in terms of design, as a good deal of the negative reviews center around the screeching.
