We are quite happy with the base. It seems well made and the built-in wheels make it pretty easy to move. We used 2 bags of sand and some water and it seems quite sturdy.

I had a small issue with the holes not exactly aligning with the umbrella base stand. I solved it by using a round metal file and enlarging the holes on the umbrella base stand to facilitate a fit to the plastic base. I contacted customer service and they were fantastic and willing to ship a new base right out. As I fixed it with a little work, I did not need a new base - still the amazing customer support is appreciated and rarely seen now days! Thanks LKINBO! ... show more

I wanted wheels for easier movement. I learned to empty some water out to help with handling and reduce the torque on the connection points. Exactly what I wanted. I had difficulty in securing the umbrella to the stand and working with customer service the issue completely resolved

Overall this is a nice product the only reason I give it four stars is because the first one we got leaked. We filled it with water so that we can drain it for winter and bring it inside. It would be fine with sand. Amazon graciously sent us another one free of charge. The second one is working out very well! This seems to be very sturdy as well with the breeze. I havenโ€™t tried it in a strong wind because I do not want to ruin my umbrella. So the only reason I gave it four stars instead of five was that the first one we got leaked.
