The Seguma model EV-ACS4003UA2 Electric Vehicle Charger is a versatile charger for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs). Its bright display shows its WIFI & Bluetooth connection status; charging status; temperature; and charging voltage, current, time, rate, and (delivered) power. AC input and output range According to the rear panel label, its AC input and output can be 120V/ 12A max or 240V/ 40A max @ 50/60Hz. This international input range means it can be configured either as a 240V, Level 2 charger or a 120V, Level 1 charger. It comes with a NEMA 4-50P power plug, so adapters are needed for all other ac connector types. The max charging current is based on the input voltage: 40A for 240V, and 12A for 120V. The actual charging current can be set lower in 1A increments. For safe operation, the charging current should be no higher than 80% of the circuit breaker value for the AC source. The charger has limited control via the A (current) and clock (time) buttons on its front panel, but by far the best control is done using the downloadable Seguma CharShine app. Seguma CharShine App The charger connects via Bluetooth or (if available) Wifi to a smartphone running CharShine. This app is very easy to use. Its features are arranged in three tabs. 1. The Charging Tab is where you setup and control the EV charging settings and monitor the charging process. Here you also set the charging current in 1A increments — * For 240V, Level 2 charging: from 40A to as low as 6A. * For 120V, Level 1 charging: from 12A to as low as 8A. You can also enter the price of electricity to compute charging costs. 2. The Plan Tab lets you set up a charging schedule and stop and start charging. 3. The Account Tab shows previous charge records, and its statistics section includes a nice color graph. It also provides access to a help section, software updates, and other information. Level 2 charging at 240V The Seguma charger will connect directly to a 14-50S socket. When it measures 240V, it chooses the Level 2 charging current set by the app. You use a NEMA 4-50R to 6-20P adapter (not provided) to connect to a 6-20S 240V/20A socket. In this configuration, use the app to set the charging current from 40A to 16A or lower before connecting to the EV. Level 1 charging at 120V If your 120V ac source has a NEMA 4-50 socket (this is rare), then the EV charger will plug in without needing an adapter. However, for 120V the max settable charging current is 12A, even if the socket could supply higher. You need a NEMA 4-50R to 5-20P adapter (not provided) to connect to a 120V/ 20A 5-20S socket, or a NEMA 4-50R to 5-15p adapter to connect to a standard household 120V/ 15A socket. In both cases, the charging current can be set up to 12A max. In my case, the only available 240V socket is a 6-20S type with a 20A circuit breaker. I use a 12AWG 6-20 extension cord followed by a 6-20P to 14-50R adapter to connect to the Charger plug. I then set the charging current to 15A before connecting to the EV. (This setup works fine for now, and it lets me postpone hiring an electrician to run a 50A 240V circuit out to my garage.) Charger EV Output The Seguma’s 25ft output cord has the J1772 connector, so to charge a Tesla I inserted a J1772 to NACS adapter. This 240V, 15A configuration takes around 10 hours to charge the EV from 40% to 90% (36 kWh). The Seguma charger is rated IP66. Ingress Protection 6 means dust cannot get inside, and the second 6 in IP66 means it can withstand powerful water jets from any direction. Therefore it should be safe to use in rainy weather. The Seguma EV charger and CharShine app are excellent products. Highly Recommended!

This is my go to EV charger for our house. I have hardwired in a 50 amp charger, and I have the 30 amp mobile versions that came with my Tesla and Lightning, but this one hits the sweet spot without having to be hardwired in, a longer cable by about 5 more feet than the mobile chargers. This uses a NEMA 50 plug so we already had that for our mobile chargers and it plugged right in for easy installation. We have a J1772 to NACS adapter for the tesla and this charger works just fine with that adapter. The charging speed is the sweet spot at this amperage without worrying about messing up the full circuit throughout the house. It also will charge my lightning with the big battery pack overnight even when it is down to like 30%. I always get the full 9 kWh plus with it. I know there is an app to adjust times and amperage, but I didn't want to add yet another app especially when I can do all that adjustment on my car app already. I am sure it is a cool feature for those people who want another app though. There is also a nice holder and plug in area to keep the charger out of the way and from dragging on the ground when not in use. The cable feels very sturdy and heavy duty. Since it works on both my vehicles of different manufacturers, it should be compatible with any EV with the right adapter. It is in line with other chargers of this capability for price, but since it works exactly as I would hope with no issues at all I think it is definitely worth the cost.

I tried to use it for charging the Hyuandia ionic5 after a few seconds stopped saying complete charging really it didn't charge so I think it is not good for my car

This is solid EV charger! Plugs into a washer/dryer outlet, so make sure you have one available to plug in, otherwise you won't be able to use this. You may need an electrician. Assuming you have the plug ready to go, this is a solid choice for a Lv2 charger. It's not too crazy in price, and is lightweight enough where you can store this as a backup charger in your car (comes with a perfect bag for that scenario), or use it daily at home. Lv2 will charge you about 15-17 miles an hour, so more than enough for a normal, daily commute. Cord length is solid at 25FT, allowing for most sides of any charge port location. It's compatible with any J1772 (non-Tesla, American cars basically) - I was able to charge both my EV cars with no issues. The app connectivity is cool! However, you'll likely find similar features within your main EV app. Still, to be able to do thing within the charger app, can be beneficial for some. Regardless, it's a very functional charger all around - would highly recommend.

I recently upgraded to this Level 2 EV charger, and the difference is night and day. Compared to the standard Level 1 charger that came with my car, this one is about six times faster. What used to take all day now only takes a few hours, which gives me so much more freedom. One of my favorite features is the smart app control; I can schedule my charging for late at night when electricity rates are lower, saving me a decent amount of money on my monthly bill. It also has a clear 2.4-inch display that shows exactly how much power is going into the car in real-time, so there’s no more guessing. The build quality is impressive and feels very safe. It’s fully certified (ETL and FCC), and I love that it’s IP66 waterproof, so I don't have to worry if I'm charging outside during a rainstorm or a snowy day. The 25-foot cable is a huge plus, too—it’s long enough to reach my car even if I don’t park perfectly centered in the driveway. It even comes with a carrying bag and wall mounts, so you can use it as a permanent home station or pack it up for a road trip. If you’re looking for a hassle-free way to keep your EV topped off quickly and safely, this charger is a fantastic investment.
