We recently got a Hyundai Santa Fe PHEV, which came with an OEM charger which responds to the vehicle computer's time-of-use settings for charging, but only delivers 12A from a 120V outlet, even though that outlet is a 20A circuit. So I ordered this charger, which is described as delivering up to 16A for either 120V or 240V, a nice combination that can work well in a wide range of situations, as well as being prepared for when I get a 240V outlet in the garage. Unfortunately, the initial charging did not happen in the designated timing, but it seemed to take several starts and stops between the charger and the car to initiate the charging session, so maybe it will work properly next time. It did, indeed, deliver about 16A of current at 120V (the car registered a rate of 1.7 kW), and was thus faster to achieve the full charge than the OEM charger. The charger body felt pretty warm after a short time charging, so it remains to be seen how well it will do with a 240V 3.3 kW charging rate (the car's maximum). The inability to coordinate with the vehicle computer's time-of-use charging plan and the somewhat warm charger body resulted in a 4* vs 5* rating. If it works better in the future, I will update the rating. When I install the 240V outlet, I will see how well it does at that voltage and power. ... show more

This charger is a great choice to have if you want to charge your plug-in hybrid vehicle either using a 120V or 240V socket. Charging it at 120V, it takes approximately 5 1/2 hours to fully charge. Charging it at 240V, it takes approximately 2 1/2 hours to fully charge. Range is 23 miles. For over a month now, it has been working like it should through different climate changes. There is a slight tear, but hasn't affected its quality. Overall, it's been a great product to use and I highly recommend it if you like the idea of charging your vehicle at home. ... show more

    • Good value if your circuit breaker can handle it...
Bought it and appreciated its value, construction quality and ease of setup. Unfortunately, it wants to draw 18A and the only circuit breaker in my garage to power it is 10A. Neither my EV nor the MEGEAR charger provides a way to to limit the current draw, so it almost immediately pops the breaker when I go to charge the car. So I will be returning this particular charger, but I still recommend it for anyone whose circuit breaker is 20A or higher. ... show more

Charger worked great for about 10 months but then stopped working with multiple error codes. Contacted customer service and provided the info they requested. They determined the charger was faulty and send a replacement right away. Replace my charger is working great. I appreciated they stood behind their product and honored their warranty. Bought this to charger out Tesla Model 3. We plugged it into a regular outlet and it works just fine. Charge is slow but that's what's expected. We get about 2.5% per hour. Installing the holder to the wall was really easy.

I have a 240v 20a outlet in my garage, so this was an easy “plug and play.” It maxes out at 16amp, so I’m getting a charge range of about 14 miles per hour on my ID.4. I’ll probably take advantage of my free Electrify America pass as much as possible, but this is good to have if I don’t get a chance to charge during the week at EA station. ... show more

    • Working as expected
So far, so good. I had a 220 outlet installed by my electrician, plugged this gismo in and it's been doing its job reliably since then. I charge my Niro overnight from 10% to 80% and my electric bill hardly notched a difference so I'm happy.
