Very good quality EV charger. Great for use by guests to top off their electric vehicles or as a portable to take along on longer trips It came with a decent quality storage bag. The cord coiled up easily for storage and the whole thing was easy to use because of its flexibility...I did not have to fight the cord to plug it into the vehicles EV charging receptacle. This looks very well made...I expect it to last a long time as long as the plugs don't give out. I like that I can control the charge amperage and time. It is also nice that it shows you just how much charge was applied during the session. The only negatives that I really came across, on this charger, are: It does not come with a wall mount, of any kind, for home use...it is too heavy to just let it hang from the outlet. Over time this would damage the cord, adapter and outlet. Even one of the pictures show the charge controller being held in a wall mount...not just hanging there. I understand that you cannot control these things when traveling; you can (and should) at home. For traveling there is a simple solution, to help mitigate the damage. That brings us to the second negative. Ninety degree plugs/outlet on the cord and adapter could have relieved allot of the stress that is created by hanging the unit from an outlet. This is not just a minor issue. It is a design flaw that should have been addressed in development and real world testing. This one thing will greatly shorten the life of this charger. FYI: That is the reason for the loss of one star. A picture shows how the weight of the controller pulls the pludg down...that is a brand new, very good quality outlet.

The EnergBison charge for electric vehicles is a good purchase for anyone with an electric car or PHEV. This car charger is sturdy and well made. It plugs into a regular 120V plut to charge your vehicle. That makes this a very useful item when you cannot find a charger. Because it uses 120, it will charge slowly, but sometimes, that is enough to get you a few necessary miles onto your car overnight. So don't expect your electric vehicle to charge overnight unless you are close to full. It has 25 feet of cable to ensure you can reach the outlet and your vehicle. This is the standard length for these at home chargers. It is strong and well insulated for the task. The display is easy-to-read and chock full of information: ambient temperature, amperage, time elapsed, kWh charged, etc. It also has a vertical LED light that relays important information. The underside of the display explains the meaning of the color of the LED light. For example, green is charging (blinking) or fully charged (solid), blue is connected (flashing) or on stand-by (solid), red means there is a problem. I have used it a couple of times and it works as advertised. It was reliable each time, and I love how it packs up nice and tight and does not weigh much at all. This is a very good buy that I recommend. It is specifically intended for our daughter to use in her travels back and forth from college when she needs a quick charge to get to a pay up charge station or a gas station.
