I ordered this charger for a semi public accessible charging location. With the idea of preventing any and everyone from just plugging in and charging for free as it happened in the past. The EVSE works as promised with the amperage limitations due to the Nema 14-50 plug. But 40 amps is still pretty good. On our more efficient vehicles this equals around 40-45 miles of range gained per hour of charge. The app is mediocre, as is the info available on the display. But the charger has been reliable, without any faults over the last couple of month of use. There seems to be a huge discount on this charger so it’s even more of a no brainer. Unless you want a mobile charger, this is too large and heavy.

The product works well in manual mode but I have not gotten it to connect to WiFi. Now I know why it was reduced drastically in price. I will keep it because I can control through my car app. It was a good price without the WiFi function.

It took me about 2 1/2 hours to get it to connect to my phone, but I finally got it. There appears to be zero product support, as the website comes up with a 404 error and the email bounces back as undeliverable. I also couldn't get through on the phone. I bought it during Prime Days, so it was only $75. I think I'll go ahead and get the 3-year warranty through Asurion, since it's only $13.

I had my charger installed by an electrician. The charger turned on and I plugged it into my car. In 14 hours I only gained about 8% battery charge. The app for this charger doesn't exist in the Google Play Store, so I wasn't able to set it up as the user manual described. There aren't instructions in the guide for how to use it without the app. I emailed Khons and the email bounced back. I don't think this company exists anymore. I hope its not difficult to return.
