  • Best pool cover!
I had the same cover but for my old pool which was round and I loved! When I got my new pool I couldn't find the rectangle one so I ordered another brand and it was terrible, cheap, flimsy like a tarp, didn't stay on pool. I was so happy when I finally found this one! It's a game changer! Fits like a glove, does not come off and the material is thick not flimsy like a tarp! I've tried a lot of different pool covers and this is hands down the best one yet! ... show more

  • Use it as a pool cover…. Please
Measuring a generous size, this pool cover seemed to promise durability and utility, and I envisioned many summers of clear, debris-free water. Little did I know that this product would take us on an unexpected adventure that would test its limits and ours in ways we never imagined. First Impressions: Quality and Fit Out of the box, the Intex pool cover was a sight to behold. The material felt sturdy, with a texture that suggested it could withstand the elements. It fit our swim center perfectly, creating a snug barrier against leaves, bugs, and other unwanted intruders. The drawstrings were easy to adjust, ensuring a secure fit that wouldn’t budge even in strong winds. As a pool cover, it was flawless, earning high marks in every category of practicality and effectiveness. A Mad Idea Takes Shape One lazy afternoon, while lounging by the pool and basking in the glow of our latest aquatic investment, a wild idea struck. There sat my life-like GI Joe, an emblem of adventure and daring. And there lay the pool cover, stretched out like an untapped reservoir of potential. The thought hit us simultaneously: could this pool cover double as a parachute? The very notion was thrilling, combining our love for innovative repurposing with the undeniable appeal of GI Joe in freefall. The Parachute Experiment: Preparation The preparation phase was meticulous. We carefully tied the corners of the pool cover to GI Joe’s arms and legs, ensuring that the connections were secure yet flexible enough to allow for proper parachute deployment. We tested the strings, adjusting the tension and angles until we were satisfied that everything was as it should be. The anticipation built with each knot and adjustment, as we readied ourselves for the ultimate test of the pool cover’s versatility. The Moment of Truth: Deployment With bated breath, we climbed to a suitable height – the top of our backyard treehouse, a towering structure that had seen many childhood adventures but none quite like this. GI Joe, with his determined expression and battle-ready stance, was poised for action. We held our collective breath as we launched him into the air, the pool cover billowing out in a promising display of makeshift parachute potential. Reality Sets In: A Dramatic Descent For a fleeting moment, it seemed as if our plan would work. The pool cover caught the air, creating a semblance of drag. But alas, our hopes were dashed as gravity exerted its unforgiving pull. The pool cover, while expansive, lacked the aerodynamic qualities needed for a successful parachute. GI Joe plummeted earthward, his descent rapid and unforgiving. He landed with a thud, the pool cover crumpling ineffectively around him. The Aftermath: Lessons Learned In the aftermath of our failed experiment, we couldn’t help but laugh at our own audacity. The Intex B008VQWPDK Rectangular Pool Cover had proven itself as an excellent barrier against pool debris, but as a parachute, it was a spectacular failure. GI Joe survived the fall, a testament to his rugged design, but the pool cover’s limitations were laid bare. Conclusion: A Versatile Yet Limited Product In conclusion, the Intex B008VQWPDK Rectangular Pool Cover for Swim Centers 58412EP, 1 Pack Multi, is a top-notch product for its intended use. It excels in keeping your pool clean and protected, and its quality construction ensures longevity. However, if you’re harboring any fantasies of repurposing it for skydiving adventures with your life-like GI Joe, you might want to reconsider. Stick to its primary function, and it will serve you well. As for us, we’ve returned to more traditional uses for our pool cover, while GI Joe continues to inspire our flights of imagination – firmly grounded, of course. ... show more

  • adds greatly to pool enjoyment. read my review for user tips.
I'm about a month into using this cover on a 10-foot pool that looks almost exactly like the Intex one, except I think my pool is the generic brand from a big box store out of Arkansas. I can't know for sure, because someone gave it to me used. Anyway, my pool is on its third--and last--season. I'm sharing this because the pool has become distended and misshapen, and the Intex cover is still doing a really great job covering it. This cover is heavyweight opaque navy blue plastic. I have no problem putting it on by myself, even when my misshapen old pool is full of water. I put the string through the first time, cinched it tight, and haven't undone the string. This lets me stretch the cover onto the pool like a shower cap. I recommend threading the string so the the "under/over" pattern is UNDER at the corners. This will let you stretch the "corner" string down under the corner of the pool. I do think this is a one-season product, and would expect to toss it in the fall. It seems to have photo degraded a little, and I noticed tonight mine has a small tear starting from one edge--but remember, mine is stretched to its limit over my bulbous pool. Anyway, i would buy both the pool and this cover again. I'm using a homemade floater to keep a slow-release small pool/spa chlorine tablet in the water and this cover over the top. The chlorine keeps the water clear and the mosquitos out. The cover helps with mosquitos, too, and keeps out debris. With his combo, you can fill the pool about once a week, depending on use. ... show more

  • Worth the money, a must-have for an inflatable pool
I've had this cover for two weeks and so far it hasn't given me any problems. I was worried about the negative reviews, but here are some things to note about taking care of this item: 1. It is designed for a 10 foot wide rectangle pool. If your pool is not the same size, it probably won't fit just right. 2. The material feels fine and sturdy until it's been in the direct sun for a long period of time. After sitting in direct sun, the heat makes the material feel soft and thinned and would probably rip if you're not careful with it. Take the cover off the pool gently when the material gets soft. Once the cover is off and sitting in the shade it goes back to feeling sturdy again. 3. Use the cord it came with and properly thread and tie it. The cord should be wrapped underneath the pool on all 4 sides just like the picture in order for the cover to stay secure and not blow off in wind. Also, the cover is not designed to pull down all around the bottom like a fitted sheet, it goes sort of half way down on all sides. 4. If you have the cover taut and secure, the rain water will not pool as heavily on the top. Mine pooled the first day because I did not have the cover on properly. I used a small bucket to scoop and pail most of it out so it would not all end up in the pool when I uncovered it. So far it has kept the pool clean and clear of leaves and debris. I haven't had to clean it out once. If it does not last the summer, I would still buy it again next year. ... show more

  • Not satisfied with the purchase
Pros: good fit, easy to put on/take off without help, thick enough. Cons: One- misleading picture, second-durability. I had it for less than 30 days and used it lightly about 5 times and seams already started falling apart. No use for it anymore unfortunately.
