There is no way to adjust this bench so it is completely flat. The seat inclines in the front and does not adjust. The back rest also is slightly off from being straight. Which is annoying because I have it in my living room. My last bench doubled as seating, but not possible to use this as seating because you can Get it flat. If I use the next hole, they slant the other way. So I gave the one on the left that wouldn’t go flat to my nephew and purchased the one on the right. I really like it, but it didn’t come with an instruction manual. It was easy to unfold it, but there is a key attached and I cannot for the life of me figure out what it’s for. I think it was probably returned because not only no instructions, but came in a plastic bag in a kind of makeshift box with no identifying labeling. It is, however in pristine condition. Did not come with instructions for assembly (but parts were still labeled), but was pretty self explanatory from looking at pictures. Seems to be very sturdy and stable as expected. Adjustments are easy, multiple functions in only a few sections.

Seat does not lower, dips down to angle if you attempt to lower. Not a stable bench no matter how much you tighten it. Shortly after building it, ended up boxing it back up. Return.
