  • Love it
I am not a professional weight lifter and I don't know what standard sizes are etc. But for home use (garage), this thing has been ideal. It was easy for me to put together (took about 90 minutes). One thing I did notice is the width of the upper bar support. It forces your arms to be closer than you intuitively want them to be when you lift that bar but it's not a deal breaker for me. Maybe a larger man would have an issue with that. But for a 5'5" woman, it's doable. With so many features on this bench, I can keep coming up with exercises and keep adding weight no problem. The cost is great, it's sturdy and most importantly, it delivers. It will allow you to exercise the way it's intended. LOVE it! ... show more

  • Quality commensurate with price range
This isn’t the most expensive bench on the market and it shows. Would you buy this bench if you are professional power lifter? No. But for a home gym it is adequate. The padding isn’t particularly luxurious in feel but is comfortable to use. 3 months of use and I don’t observe any obvious wear. The rack arms are not height adjustable. I find the height good for flat benches, but a little close to the face for incline presses (the bar is only an inch from my nose when I lower it into the rack). Because of the fixed bar between the arms it is not possible to safely get under the bar to lift the bar onto your shoulders squats. Generally sturdy construction, some of the added attachments (fly arms, preacher pad) feel a bit rickety. When loaded, the fly arms can misalign while in use. It is easy to put back in position, but I am concerned this could be causing metal fatigue that could case the attachment to break in future. The pegs for adding weights on the fly and arm attachments are 1” so if you have 2” Olympic weights you will need to purchase an adapter, which are easy to find and not particularly expensive. For the price point this is a reasonable product. There are definitely better bench/racks on the market but will cost you a lot more. Hopefully the fly arm holds up. If it breaks I would definitely downgrade my rating of this product. ... show more

  • Buyer Beware
First and foremost, this was listed “on sale” for $170 on Amazon Prime Day. I bought it thinking it was a good deal. Three days later, the price dropped (and stayed) at $146. Amazon was reluctant to give me the credit, as they wanted me to cancel and repurchase. When the item arrived, it was relatively easy to put together. However, despite it looking nice, it was very disappointing to see what I actually purchased. I am an avid gym goer. I purchased this 6 months pregnant to ensure I can workout at home post partum. For starters - the butterfly extensions are positioned wrong. There is zero range of mobility to target chest. My husband even tried - it’s totally off. The preacher curls and leg extensions are WAY too assisted, defeating the purpose. I typically lift 40lbs on preacher curls - I had 40lbs of plates and was able to effortlessly lift it with one hand because of how much the machine assisted. Same with leg extensions. The company basically agreed to their false advertising with the solution to “just return it.” At 6 months pregnant, you expect me to undue, lift, and return this because of your false advertising? I don’t think so. Do not purchase for the bells and whistles because there are none here. Total scam. ... show more

  • Not good
I just needed a bench because the old one for my smith machine wore out. I had seen thus model when it came out ten years ago and always wanted to try it since it was so cheap. The Sports Authority had one set up and it seemed OKAY. I really liked the chest fly even though I prefer doing it with dumbells. Well this unit does not serve my needs. I would be better spending the money on just a bench. This had a preacher curl similar to my old bench but is no where need as good. 1. Goes together easy and is solid. Only plus. 2. The bench press uprights are to narrow. They hold the barbell where you need to grip. This forced you to do either a wide grip or narrow grip. Narrow grip is preferable given the choices but this is aggravating that neutral grip is impossible. 3. The preacher curl does not allow full range of motion to the top. My old one did. This prevents getting the critical last few inches to flex out the biceps. It stops short by hitting the pad and blocking the bar from being pulled closer. This is a superficial workout. 4. The right chest fly on mine has a defect. The threaded insert is not welded correctly so it rubs when rotated. The left one is done correctly and seems high quality. Problem is the handles do not have enough length to engage the chest. My arms are bent to close to the chest. This makes the shoulders do all the work and defeats the point as it is horrible biomechanics and terrible lifting form. This will cause an imbalance in the anterior deltoid which I already have. I think this can be fixed by adding chains or Garry rigging cables with handles and using it that way but do not want to bother. Final thoughts: It failed at barbell press, chest fly, and preacher curl. I and 5'6" and it feels too small for me. I might have been able to use this when I was 12. The leg things are wimpy as expected and I did not test them. 3 stars would be generous, 2 stars realistic but no more. While the concept is brilliant on paper it fails to execute. If they made a wider one with better functioning and build quality that met my needs priced around $600 they would have a winner. I am just going to stay far away from this brand and do push-ups and calisthenics until I can afford quality. ... show more
