If this is your first set of hearing aids I can help. Shopping on Amazon for hearing aids under $100 you need to be flexible and forgiving. My first set was partially paid for by my insurance and cost over two thousand. True hearing aids are super expensive, and most hearing amplifiers are ear buds turned up loud. These are truly different. These were recommended to me by a friend, and I am now sharing that recommendation with my Amazon family. This set is a great budget replacement for a true set of hearing aids which is why I purchased them. I no longer have the insurance to help buy another $2000.00 set. These work for me and do what I need. Yes, they amplify sound but also are able to differentiate speaking and just noise. Not everything is louder, just what you need to hear is louder. No, they are not the same as my expensive set, but these work fine for me. They do what I need and cost a fraction of the cost to replace my original set. Keeping this in mind if you are patient with learning how these can work for you and don't expect these to give you the hearing experience you had 20 years ago they are a great value and the perfect substitute for the expensive aids you would get from a hearing doctor. I do highly recommend these to my friends and family and hope the cost stays below $100 once everyone finds out about them.
