I am 72 years old and have been wearing prescription hearing aids for more than seven years. In the past few months, I’ve tried two different OTC hearing aids to compare features and sound quality. The Elehear BEYOND Pro instantly separated itself from the rest. They are slightly larger than I expected, but they feel solid, well-built, and the charging case is one of the best-designed cases I’ve ever used. After just a one-hour charge, the hearing aids paired automatically with my phone via Bluetooth, and I was able to take their in-app hearing test right away. I am totally blown away with the Elehear BEYOND Pro. A few days after receiving them, I actually got a call from their customer service team checking in to see if I had any questions. I was shocked to get a call like that—none of the other companies I’ve used have ever done that. They also informed me of several features in the app that I might have missed, including the ability to take the hearing test and have the results submitted electronically to one of their audiologists. Their audiologist can then review your results and create a custom program specifically tailored for your hearing profile. What a wonderful and unexpected opportunity, and something I’ve never experienced with any other OTC or prescription provider. The app itself is extremely well designed. Unlike other hearing aid apps that basically do nothing more than adjust the volume, the Elehear app offers true customization. You can mask tinnitus, fine-tune sound settings, and select tailored modes for different environments—restaurants, watching TV, noisy crowds, and more. The noise reduction filters are excellent and noticeably reduce distractions. With these modes active, voices become clearer and environmental clutter fades into the background. Over the past seven years, I’ve owned prescription hearing aids from Costco and from other vendors. They’ve worked well, but I can honestly say that for the money, the Elehear BEYOND Pro beats them handily. The sound quality is every bit as good—and in several cases, even better—than my prescription aids. The Bluetooth audio performance is fantastic. Music sounds rich and full, and phone calls come through crisp and easy to understand. They are also far better than the other OTC pair I tested before this. These hearing aids are not cheaply made at all. They feel solid, durable, and thoughtfully engineered. The battery life is incredible, and I love the portable charging case because I can take it with me anywhere without worrying about running out of power. I still haven’t tested every advanced feature yet, like translation or extended tinnitus masking routines, but what I’ve experienced so far has exceeded every expectation. Let me say this as plainly as possible: after buying more expensive prescription aids for years and thinking I already had the best, the Elehear BEYOND Pro absolutely crushes the comparison. This is not a 5-star product—this is a 10-star product. These hearing aids are worth every single penny, and then some.

My high-level prescription hearing aids were purchased seven years ago and no longer perform. I am not a typical candidate for over-the-counter aids but I thought I would try them anyway. I chose the Elehear Beyond Pro based on the features it offered and the solid reviews they received. I purchased them from Amazon so I could return them if they weren't usable. Within an hour of wearing them, I knew they were not going back. I was amazed at how well they performed for me. Update February 22, 20226: I took the in-app hearing test Elehear provides and submitted it to the Elehear audiology support team. Within a day or two I received an update notice in the app to download my new program, customized to my hearing test results. I also got an email with detailed instructions on how to take advantage (and tweak as needed) my new, personalized program. I am truly in awe with the performance of the Elehear Beond Pro hearing aids with the personalized program. I remember now: this is how hearing is supposed to work. My experience with this company has been remarkable. Having seven years of experience wearing hearing aids, I knew how to make the adjustments in the app, experiment until I found the right ear tip (dome) fit, and give my brain time to adjust to hearing well again. If you are new to wearing hearing aids, those are things that take time to learn. Understanding bluetooth technology is important, too. I really like that these aids connect to standard bluetooth and can take advantage of advanced bluetooth technology. I also appreciate the long battery life and that the case also carries a charge. That will be useful for travel days when I need to recharge them but do not have access to an outlet. Elehear designed a very well-thought out package. I need longer receiver wires for the hearing aids to fit more comfortably behind my ears. Customer service at Elehear responded promptly and honored my request for longer wires. All I had to do was provide proof of purchase since I had not purchased them from Elehear directly. The longer wires are now in route. The customer service people were great! I highly recommend trying the Elehear Beyond Pro hearing aids if you are looking for an over-the-counter aid that performs as good or better than old-tech prescription aids and are confident that you understand your pattern of hearing loss so you can adjust them yourself. Elehear does offer help with adjustments but I did not need it. I am really happy I gave Elehear a try. Update: I lost one of the hearing aids in a high wind and Elehear Customer Support, (Emily) helped me get a replacement quickly. They have been wonderful!

This is about my 4th pair of hearing aids. I've tried pretty much everything across the spectrum from ultra cheap to Costco's most expensive Resound model. The Elehear Beyond Pro is the first pair that I get a crisp, clear sound at the upper frequencies. However, after only one day of use, I only got 30% overnight charge on the left hearing aid. Not sure why. I called customer service. The rep sent me instructions to reset the charger which solved the problem. While no hearing aids are perfect, these are the best I've worn so far. Great customer service. UPDATE after 7 months of use. The left hearing aid stopped working. I went through the suggested reset to no avail. I ordered a new wire for $70, so we will see if this is the remedy. Things I like about Elehear Pro: Fast battery charge, DIY repair and cleaning, Bluetooth streaming from my phone is great. Things I hate: Not good at all in in noisy rooms. I simply cannot understand someone sitting next to me if others in the room are talking. The app is borderline terrible. Only three channels. The presets for different environments are basically useless. I cannot distinguish any difference in any of them. I had to order locks to keep them in my ear. They would not stay in my ear while chewing food. Feedback squeal: Happens all the time while wearing a heaving coat as the sound bounces off the collar. Quality: Not all that great. Left stopped working after only 7 months. Seriously? Overall, I think these are just so-so. I had great hopes, but the longer I wear them, the more disappointed I've become and I will be looking at alternatives. As the saying goes, 'Your mileage may. vary' UPDATE: 6/18/26 Elehear sent a replacement wire. Just two months later, the left hearing aid failed again. I'm done with Elehear. Terrible product.

Well I’ll give this a shot. 37 year old male with moderate to severe hearing loss. Diagnosed when I was in middle school that I had high pitch frequency hearing loss. Had no idea until Doc in a Box showed up to school. Said you’re deaf. Parents took me to an audiologist a couple of years later who agreed that I couldn’t hear anything on the higher frequencies. Recommended hearing aids. Said sure and gave it a spin. Realized very quickly, nope. Didn’t have the time or patience for them. The kid that was 9 chairs down from me that was squeaking his seat back and forth was about to drive me up the wall and I could hear rain on the window for the first time and that was extremely distracting in class. So we returned them. Fast forward to my adult life with a career based around welding, grinding, machine work and ship repair, my hearing was toast. Once again didn’t think it was that bad until I realized I was yelling at my kids a lot for speaking softly to the point they just wouldn’t say anything or not able to hear people talking in my meetings at work. My wife always laughed because I am the subtitles on all the time guy and I didn’t like going to movies because I couldn’t hear what was playing. Decided to do some shopping and found these on Amazon. Good reviews. Decent price (not 2000 bucks) and pulled the trigger. Life changing. Wish I did this 15 years ago. I can actually watch tv without the subtitles on, pretty much stopped yelling at my kids for talking quiet, still yell for other things but that’s normal and I can hear in my meetings at work! No longer always saying huh to my wife when she asks a question from the living room to the kitchen or just guessing what people are saying in basic conversation when I can’t see their lips 94 year old grandmother is horrible with keeping her mouth covered. Are they perfect? Nope. But for me, absolutely life changing. Power usually last most of my standard days from when I get ready in the morning to just about bedtime. I’m getting a battery low alert right now and I put them in at 430 this morning it’s now 8 at night. Have issues with the phone not syncing to the hearing aids from time to time and people saying they can’t hear me a 100% during phone calls (probably my fault for being outside in the wind or driving) Music sounds good when I listen to it through them, usually listen to books and those are fine as well. I do get some feedback issues from time to time depending on where I am and what I am doing but usually comes and goes pretty quick. Easy to tune those out through the app settings. Overall for me I wish I purchased a set a long time ago. Half to a quarter the price as standard hearing aids with all the same functions. Would give them 5 stars if I didn’t have the every now and then phone problems. If your on the edge just go ahead and do it. Guarantee you won’t regret it. Give them time for your body to adjust. They say 2 weeks. Got mine in May and it’s now August and I can’t go a day without them. But again give them a couple of weeks. Good luck and hope it changes your life like it did mine.

I highly recommend Elehear. They are a great company to work with and seem to really care about their customers. Fiona, in customer service, patiently answered my questions, and provided exemplary support. The Beyond Pro hearing-aids were pretty comfortable and barely visible. I loved that I can answer phone calls using the volume rocker on the earpiece. They work totally hands-free with my Samsung XCover7 Pro phone. The batteries last over 24 hours. The language translation feature is pretty cool, and the app is easy to navigate. I did the hearing test from within the app (a pretty cool feature) and the Audiologist, Jalene, emailed me with suggestions for the settings. She then had me send a copy of the audiogram I had done at my doctor's office and she made a custom program for me. That was impressive. However, after nearly 4 weeks of use I noticed I wasn't able to distinguish some speech much better with the Elehear hearing-aids. It turns out my hearing loss is too severe in some obscure ranges to be able to use nonprescription hearing aids, thus I unfortunately had to return them. Try them out and be sure to take advantage of all the instructional videos to become acquainted with the various settings and functions. There's a lot to learn. But for mild/moderate hearing loss, Elehear Beyond Pro hearing aids are certainly worth the effort - the price!

Edit on 12/4/25: After lots of study and internet reviews, I chose the Elehear Beyond Pro hearing aids in September 25. The Beyond Pro series seemed to have everything I needed, and while I paid $600 for them on Amazon, that price seemed realistically fair. That is mostly why I bought them ... good price for the features provided. After some reasonable instructions, I put them on, made some adjustments with the downloaded phone AP, and tried them out. Mostly, they worked well for the first two months. The volume was boosted in all frequencies, including higher tones. I have lost hearing in higher tones in both ears, and was struggling to hear my wife's voice, forcing her to repeat most everything. I also could no longer hear higher tones/girls on TV, or insects chirping outside at night. The hearing aids clearly helped with that. I now understood my wife and TV females, and picked up outdoor sounds better. Then, problems began. The hearing aids had a terrible feedback, causing the sound of crinkling aluminum foil to occur almost constantly. I was able to tone it down a bit by lowering microphone volume and setting feedback adjustment, but I no longer heard my wife as clearly and she had to repeat things a few times. Since it was past the 30 day return period on Amazon, I just chose to put up with it. Then, almost 2 months after purchase, my left hearing aid quit working. It would connect for maybe 3 minutes, then just turn off. It was as if the battery was dead, but I charged the aids in their case for a full day. Still no change. So, I contacted Elehear and submitted a warranty claim to have the left hearing aid replaced. They agreed to do so, BUT ... they then notified me that it would cost a whopping $40 in shipping. I objected and told them I would not pay it, since it was their hearing aid that broke and it should cost me nothing to get it warranty replaced. They then agreed to wave the charge but they then claimed they had no extra left hearing aids in stock in the U.S. and would have to get it from China. That was over a month ago. I suspected that they were punishing me for objecting to the shipping change by intentionally not sending me a replacement. Anyway, I dropped the rating to a 1 star. A few days later, they sent me a replacement left hearing aid. Great! Except ... it would not connect to Bluetooth. It worked, but I could not control it or change feedback on it using the phone app. I notified them via email. In late November 25, I got an email from their customer service folks apologizing for my troubles and offering me a full refund on the hearing aids, even well after their own 45 day evaluation period. That was nice of them and I did get the refund through Amazon. As requested, I sent back the Beyond Pro aids at their own cost, and I will be trying out another brand. Because they refunded my full purchase and sent me a free shipping label to return the defective ones, I cannot continue to fault their customer service. They did OK by me, so I've boosted the rating to a 3/5. As to the problems I had with the aids, I will leave that to you all to decide.

These are my first hearing aids. I have mild to medium hearing loss, age related, and also had some significant exposures over the decades before hearing protection became a safety factor (tinnitus). I have been hesitating because of the crazy cost of hearing aids and the distinct possibility they could end up in a drawer someplace because of fit comfort and/or ineffective correction. Too much to dish out that much money on a gamble. I'm closer to being poor than rich. I started to research OTC aids two years ago and didn't see anything that grabbed my attention at that time. And as hearing loss continues, I decided to take another look and saw Elehear Beyond Pro. It had every feature I wanted, good reviews, and reportedly good customer service. I decided to give them a try and after wearing them for about a week, they are working perfectly. I took the hearing test which comes with the app and Elehear's Audiologist sent me their settings which addressed the hearing loss. WOW, such a difference! My only issue is with the fit with my glasses. I messaged them and Customer Care is in the process of addressing the issue with a slightly longer set of wires. So I am still waiting on that and if the issue is resolved then I would say these aids are as close to perfection for me as I can imagine. Battery life is great, I can go all day without recharging and that includes hours of streaming music and audio books. The sound quality is great and I am a music lover (I think the term audiophile can be pretentious). I am told these aids are a little bulkier than some other competitor's products. It could be true and maybe that's why I'm having an issue with the fit with my glasses. We'll see. These work so great and the price was affordable for me. I hope they continue working like this for a few years. UPDATE: it turned out my fit problem was solved by replacing the #2 wires with #3. Elehear was very responsive to solving the issue.

Hubby was frustrated because he constantly had to adjust the volume depending on the situation. He said 1 side would stop working even though it was fully charged. He did not call customer service for help because he was too frustrated. Would advise the hearing aid is good for mild hearing loss, not medium hearing loss
