  • Little Big But Work Well
My mom is hard of hearing but has resisted hearing aids due to cost through a medical provider (several thousand dollars). I saw these hearing aids by Equitai and a far more economical price. She’s been using them a little over a week now. These are very good for someone new to hearing aids to learn on and learn what features are really important to them. They work very well for her when watching television and help a lot. She said they echo when using the phone and we’re still figuring that part out as we’re not sure why. I had to laugh when she said she could hear her every footstep and the boards creaking underneath her feet. Her floors do squeak but I don’t think she ever noticed before. I told her to turn them down a bit (there are 5 volume settings that you cycle through). Some of the negatives, in her view, are first the size. They are big. A second is she said she cannot have them in to eat because the chewing is amplified and bothersome. Third, she’s been wearing them about a week and her ears still get sore. There are several different size ear adapters in the package so one can likely find a good fit. But when someone is not used to having something of this size in their ear, it’s going to cause a big soreness until you get used to it and I don’t think she is past that stage yet. Overall, I think these are a very good value. At their current price, they represent a great value for someone new to hearing aids. You can learn what you like and dislike and they work pretty well. ... show more

  • Decent device for those with light hearing loss
Starting with the case, I Like that the earbuds are Magnetic and will not fall out of the case, in fact they are a little difficult to remove from the case as the magnet is strong. Not a bad thing in my world. It's utilizes a simple USB-C charging plug so cabling will be readily available from most any source. The charging meter LED is a welcome addition to let you know at a glance where the charge level is at. The case is marked L and R for the left and right buds. This is a good thing as the earbuds themselves do not seem to be marked. They are however different colored, blue for left and red for right. If you remember RED/RIGHT, you'll be fine. The sound quality is good, a little tinny. The differences between the 5 volume levels are subtle. They do not OVER do the volume level but when tested with an elderly family member who is VERY hard of hearing, they do help. They do not have the technology to filter background sounds, all sounds are magnified. But at this price level, that is to be expected. Sounds closer to the earbuds are greatly magnified in comparison to sounds at a distance, which makes sense. The fit is probably the most glaring factor. They have to be inserted into the ear canal for them to be stable. Once you have them in correctly, they are relatively stable. One thing we did experience, the earbuds "whined" and gave feedback when used by some people, while no feed back was experienced when used by others. Still trying to figure out why this is. Overall, they do exactly what they are supposed to do and it's hard to do better for the money. ... show more

  • Affordable cost and exceeds expectations
I got these for my mom to try out. I knew that she has been slowly losing her hearing. My mother also knew she wasn't hearing as well as she used to, but until she put these in, she didn't realize just how much hearing loss she has. My mother cried with tears of joy (and I believe some sadness) when she realized just how many sounds she hasn't been hearing. It took us a bit to get these paired properly with her phone and also adjusted to a volume that was comfortable for her. If they are turned up too loud, the squealing is terribly loud. My mom found these to fit nicely in her ears and says they are comfortable to wear. Besides being able to hear better with these, she was ecstatic at the convenience of being able to listen to shows on her phone and take phone calls. I personally am impressed at the clarity of the phone calls. Not only are the calls clear on her side, I could not hear any background noise or static on my end which is amazing. I would definitely recommend these to anyone suffering with hearing loss. I know how expensive hearing aids can be and if you are someone like my mother who has insurance that will not cover hearing aids, these are a more cost effective choice. ... show more

  • Great value; work well for speech
These hearing aids are excellent for the money. They do a good job of amplifying ambient sound, although the sound is on the tinny side. However, you'll be able to understand speech well. They come in a cool little case that displays the charge level of each earphone, and the phones stay in place in the case with weak magnets. They easily pop in when you place them near their receptacles. You can adjust the sound volume of each earphone separately. It has many different extra earpieces, and a good instruction manual. They are pretty obvious when wearing them, so if you don't want others to know you're wearing hearing aids, these wouldn't be a good choice, but at this price point, they are probably among the best available. Other uses (besides for people with hearing loss) may be for hunters or law enforcement, when conducting surveillance. You'd just have to remember to turn them off manually (long press on the control buttons) before shooting a firearm. When off, they could also function as rudimentary hearing protectors, although I can't say by how much they would reduce sound. ... show more

  • They work decent
When wearing them my own voice sounds kind of robotic, but the TV actually sounds good. I thought it might enhance all sounds but it only enhances sounds within a certain range, which can be a good thing. If the price is reasonable I do think that they are worth trying out. I do want to say this for future devices like this, I think a modified voice recorder with a headphone jack would be the route I would rather take in the future. In my experience, the handheld voice recorders have more hardware and capabilities for selecting sound filters and sensitivity levels. The hearing aids are light, I could see myself getting use to them and forgetting they are there. They are cord free and they have a nice case for recharging them. ... show more
