Of the two valves I purchased only one of them functions leak free, despite efforts to reassemble it with pool O-ring grease on all of the fittings. It seems to be due to defects in the plastic. However, the unit that doesn't leak has been leak free for months and serves its purpose very well. I bought this to convert my 1.25" slip fittings on my Intex pool to a 1.5" threaded fitting for use with our sand filter, and these worked perfectly to achieve that. It is very easy to toggle between locked and unlocked and is a very helpful function for when you are cleaning out the leaf baskets, or have maintenance to perform on your pump or sand filter. If you have been leaking out water every time you try to change cartridge filters, or when you clean your leaf skimmer; this product is an easy and relatively cheap solution.
