  • Decent power, tends towards one position
I got this for a freshwater tank that lives in our lunch room at work, where over the years fancy decorative fish have been replaced with bargain basement bettas living among plastic skulls, sunken ships, and gravel that was mined before the invention of fire. Needless to say the cluttered environ and lack of fancy fins allowed for, nay begged for, something to aggressively circulate the water. Our thoughts: What we like: - Moves the water well. We have a 15 gallon tank, and this pushes water along the entire length of the back wall and creates a mini turbulent area in the far corner. - Super quiet. I had to check it was still working a number of times. When fully submerged, you can barely hear it. - Dull, stealth design. Our tank is full of garish 'decorations', so this wave maker being neutral in color helps to not add to the visual cacophony. - Nice long cord. Cord was a good length, reaching out of the tank with ease. What we thought needed improvement: - Angle adjuster doesn't hold well. We'd wanted it angled down and to the side, but over the course of a few hours the jet of water pushes it back to the same central position. - Traps poop and small fish. We had to set this on a timer, 30 mins on, 15 mins off, as small fish/fry and other bits got stuck to outer shell. - On/Off is by plugging it in. Don't look for an on/off toggle switch on the cord, it's either plugged in and powered or has to be unplugged. (Or on a timer) Overall, it does what we wanted it to do and keeps the water moving. 4/5 stars ... show more

  • Great for my 50 gallon
I use this in my 48” long tank and it does a good job keeping the flow. I wasn’t sure how well it would perform since the tank is so long, but all the coral and fish seem to enjoy it so far. It was easy to apply and seems to be on the glass really well.

  • Worked great at first
Worked great for the first few weeks, yesterday the flow was barely doing anything, cleaned it and it seemed to work till the next day it’s barely pushing water again..

  • Strong flow for the river tank
I really wanted to give my Corydoras a homey feel with the river flow they're used to. This fan certainly does the trick. If you put the filter on the opposite side of the tank it makes for a pretty efficient cleaning system too.

  • Creates a really strong water flow for my 50 gallon tank
This domino aquarium wave maker creates a pretty strong flow in my 50 gallon tank. I wish all aquarium pieces that come with suction cups have the lock system like this one does. Because all of the regular suction cup ones eventually fall off, doesn't matter. The one that comes with this wave maker has the snap down lock feature that securely adheres it to the glass. Love it. Okay, now onto the actual wave maker. It creates a pretty strong current to create a good flow and to kick up the debris so that my filter can take care of all the muck. It's pretty big compared my other wave maker, but that one is for a smaller tank in general. Although it's a little bigger, it doesn't take up too much real estate in my aquarium. It's crazy cheap in my opinion, especially when you compare it to the prices of other wave makers. I don't mind it being a little bigger if I'm saving that much money! ... show more

  • Moves a fair amount of water
Nice power head and it seems to move a fair amount of water. My last power head died after about a year. So we will see what kind of of longevity this product has. I would still recommend it based on first impression and price.

  • Works well in 55 gallon fresh water tank
I picked this up from vine to supplement filtration in a well stocked chiclid tank. The tank has numerous dead spots behind rocks that allows debris to accumulate. Suction is strong and the product is easily moved to other locations. I saw immediate results as the trapped items were pushed out by the produced current allowing them to be picked up by the filter. Fish do not seem to notice the current, noise levels are minimal. Others have commented on cord length but this has not been an issue. For the price this seems to be a geed value. UPDATE: After several weeks of use the suction cup no longer stays secured to the glass. I came home from a trip to find the item facing straight down. Suction cup was cleaned as was the glass, so far no joy. It is unclear if this is a function of the product or a function of all things aquatic that use suction cups. ... show more

  • Nice and quiet wave maker
This aquarium wave maker works exactly as expected and described. I added it to my 150 gallon aquarium for the purpose of water agitation at the surface level. It provides plenty of excellent waves/surface agitation at the top of my tank. Even with this wave maker at the surface of my tank, I barely got the cord to reach to the power outlet down below my tank. It definitely could use a longer cord. ... show more
